may i get ur feedback on certain problems i've encountered on XBL:

1. I usually scout for and download game demos using the internet, but i find some game demos to be off limits to Malaysian IP adress, e.g GOW3, Tropico 4, Supreme Commander 2. These "banned" game demos are however available when i use VPN services like Hotspot Shield (it gave me an IP in California). The demos are also playable on my NTSC-J console.
I am curious as to the reason for these games' inavailability; too much violence? seditious? wrong political tone?

2. Seeing that i am able to "purchase" these banned demos through VPN, will i be able to purchase Games on Demand through the VPN as well since they are a lot cheaper in USD than in SGD? Will the purchased Games on Demand then be playable on my NTSC-J console?

Added on September 5, 2012, 8:34 amDid some experimenting with Xbox Live and VPN. Conclusions:

1. Able to buy US and SG MS points using Maybank Plat credit card through Xbox live. No need to go through maximuscards.com

2. Able to buy US and SG Games on Demand using same credit card through VPN. Can also choose to buy GODs using MS points. Must reconnect VPN during last 1% of game download to complete.

3. Able to remove credit card details from Xbox Live at anytime.

4. Games on Demand available according to region. E.g Tropico 3, 4 not available in SG but is in US XBL. Playable on NTSC-J console because it is region free?

Since MW3, my NAT has been set to moderate or since I prestige to Prestige Level 1 in MW3.

I've found a page to set it to OPEN. But I don't quite understand. The TM's D-Link router is what I'm using. UniFi's.

So, it shows 2 different screenshots. Either the page uses the old firmware version or something.

I can't get through it though.

Bought a new xbox original set from singapore and made a mistake using my hotmail account from malaysia. So I had to create a new hotmail account with address location set in Singapore. So now I get to redeem my free 1 month live gold membership.


My question now Is when my subscription expires, can I simply renew using my malaysia credit card? I read something about prepaid card as well, is that something I have to buy from singapore?

Try both SG account and US account before you decide to get Gold 12 months Membership. Google on how to set up an US xbox account.

SG account got limited dashboard. US account got full features dashboard. US account Microsoft Points are much cheaper. US selection of demo is better.

Yes you can renew with credit card but it's cheaper to buy from a third party. (A forummer here sell 12 months Gold for RM 130) No need to buy from Singapore. Here in LYN also got some reputable sellers. Maximuscards.com is a good alternative too.

After i did some counting it seems like 3200 MSP will be much more expansive now, previously i bought 3200 MSP @ USD44 = RM140+ now 3200 MSP is SG71 = RM177.5, if my calculations are correct its time we stock up 3200 MSP....

I'm also on beta at the moment, and I'm on the more expensive UK marketplace.

It might be advisable to migrate to US marketplace to take advantage of US pricing since 800MSP has always meant 10USD and arcade is always priced at 5/10/15/20.

Also, the SGD has appreciated so much against the MYR since MSP pricing started that the price difference is now looking worse.

Remember to use up your $ on UK account before you do region switch, I remember I read it some where the $ will stay at that region it wont transfer to the region u switch.
