QUOTE(zlewe @ May 17 2024, 02:06 PM) Also needed esim because I still receive sms occasionally (mainly otp/2fa). Much easier to turn on/off or even leave it on permanently than switching the sim physically. Apparently no esim support for hotlink prepaid yet. Yes, hotlink no esim.. so stupid isn't it? Not sure tunetalk got esim or not.. https://www.tunetalk.com/prepaid/services/one-year-validity/

There is a major dispute between the shareholders and ongoing for years. As for Yoodo, have they been able to change MCMC's mind and will be absorbing Yoodo customers into CelcomDigi?

I was hoping for them to change their mind, but looks like it's decided as final Future of tunetalk is uncertain, but while yoodo is gone.. it is only alternative prepaid 365 days plan with e-sim support https://www.tunetalk.com/prepaid/services/esim/

Previously said, only required to be divested.
Now say its required to be terminated.
Really lidah bercabang.
"As part of the CelcomDigi merger undertaking committed to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the Yoodo brand is required to be discontinued within 18 months of the merger."

urrghhhh....previously asked retailer:- XOX only allow 5 numbers, regardless postpaid or prepaid. already have 3 numbers in XOX, so don't think it will allow to carry in 4 numbers from Yoodo.

My take, is nobody wants to take Yoodo, either it's too costly to maintain, or getting pressured by certain parties not to take over it and let it die. Having Yoodo around will pose a threat to the current telco's plan for cheap packages in the future. *coughyellowblueredcough*

all celcom maxis digi prepaids are still operating on there following mechanism, correct?
1) top-up to extend lifetime 2) ... then already can make outgoing calls/sms/data on PAYU basis 3) (optional) buy passes for better "rate" than PAYU

Brand to be discontinued. Most likely product line will be absorbed by Celcom prepaid. They probably need time (one month) for rebranding exercise.

PAYU for calls, sms/mms only. modern prepaid plans have basic slow internet rather than old school payu data 3. yes, high speed or unlimited data and maybe unlimited calls in higher (25+) pass
