Anyone know why Yoodo VoLTE need to beg them to enable?

What will happen if VoLTE activated at carrier side but device not supported?
*
No, just request to CS. If you request the morning of working day, can expect to be activated on the same day. If non-working day, have to wait until working day.

So, no 5G for Yoodo?
*
When Celcom launched 5G.. I asked CS, they said will enable it by end of this year.

This seems to make sense when the government (don't remember who) said 12m people in Malaysia will have 5G access by end of this year.

But you can just chat with the CS to find out current status.

Yoodo will check your device model at their backend. Only those device used listed in their VoLTE supported list will only be activated by them. Else, they will reject with reason unsupported device.

As long as your device supported VoLTE. Even not listed in the supported list. After Carrier side enabled it, u can used VoLTE as well.

Sharing based on recent experience with Yoodo.
*
From my experience...

When we request voLTE, they'll check the list they have.

They said my device is not supported.. but then I told them Maxis worked, which actually did work before I port out.

Then they said will inform the technical side next working day.

Then voLTE worked on next working day.

The 2nd time was when my yoodo line got deactivated because I didn't renew the plan.

Then after I renew plan, voLTE missing.

Chatted with the CS, again they check list and said not supported. I explained to them I had voLTE with yoodo before my line got deactivated.

Then they said will inform the technical team.

In 1 day, voLTE is back.

So much hassle. Should just enable all by default, whether or not they work on user's device is another story.
*
I had worst experience with Maxis. At least Yoodo just ask what device only and then willing to send request to the technical. It was tough to convince Maxis CS that the fault is not in my device.

However, then I tried Digi. No need call, insert SIM .. voLTE already there.

Yoodo should get 5G by the end of this year.

But that was the answer given to me by CS when Celcom launched 5G.

Things may have changed, but most likely we'll get it by end of the year.

Whether yoodo can maintain existing pricing is the main concern. Since it is no longer owned by Celcom.
*
Shouldn't be problem to maintain existing price..

The problem is.. FUP.

Currently yoodo don't have FUP.

If unlimited, you're really getting unlimited.

If unlimited calls, you're really getting unlimited calls.

The option to keep line active just with rm3/month

In 18 months no body buys Yoodo they go bye2.
[attachmentid=11321060]
*
Yes, if no buyer in 18 months, bye bye..

The worst thing is.. if we can't port to digi or celcom. But this part is not clear, I understand celcom/digi can't autoport yoodo customers, but are yoodo users have the option to port to clecom or digi on their own decision.

Maybe have to pick tunetalk to continue using celcom network.

Has anyone experienced it that changing to esim from physical SIM (or vice versa) means have to request CS to reactivate VoLTE again?
*
Most likely yes. Just talk to the customer service, volte will be activated within 1 working day, although they'll say it'll be up to 3 working days.

From my experience..

With yoodo, voLTE will go off if line gets inactive.

With maxis, after replace sim, had to call to get voLTE enabled.

Only digi, the SIM seems to come with volte enabled by default.

Hi all. What is FUP for unlimited data plan 3mb and 6mb? Is it 100gb. Now looking for data plan for watch HD or 4K movie on weekend. Is it 6mb speed enough? Or need to subscribe high speed data plan.
*
Yoodo don't have FUP as of now.

You can't stream 4k with 6mbps. FHD 1080p is possible. This provided your coverage is stable.

For 3mbps, only HD 720p.. and FHD 1080p might buffer.

if used in modem, i think speed also drops when more than 1 user connects to it
and depends on the modem type also

that is why i suggest taking the 20gb for RM20, then renew plan everytime quota depletes
this way u always have max speed available in your area + device supports
*
I thought when FUP mentioned, it referred to the mobile data usage.

If want to use on modem, it follows how much hotspot is given. RM20 for 20gb should give 20gb of hotspot as well.

Unlimited 3mbps and 6mbps plans don't have FUP for mobile usage, but hotspot included is only up to 6GB.

However, you said renew plan everytime quota depletes.. I think after quota depleted, you have to purchase booster, there's no 20gb for rm20, that's how it was when I used yoodo last time, maybe now can renew the entire plan?

I know yoodo is "under" celcom.

Has anyone tested speedtest on yoodo vs celcom? Same device same location. Just wondering if celcom throttle their subsidaries/MNVOs.
*
Celcom will be better.

But you still get good speed with Yoodo, provided the area is well covered by Celcom

At the end of the day, this thing doesn't matter. Unless Celcom removes FUP, or Yoodo adds FUP.

1. just wondering, can I choose a number now or later if I select this option - "Get a Free Sim now and customize later" ?
2. can I change from eSim to physical Sim card later on (with the same number)?
3. I dont see where I can choose a number if I want to order eSim....

thanks all in advance
*
1. Order only the SIM. Number can choose later.

2. Yes, but might get charged RM10. Or maybe free. But prepare min RM10.

3. So far all SIM has been without number, number is picked when activating the SIM

Anyone used the RM20 for 20GB?

How's the speed? Worth it to get?
*
Whether worth it or not, only you can say after trying.

The performance may vary according to area.

Non-unlimited can get max speed.

refer 4G speed test

able to get 170Mbps via fast.com

as for Yodoo/Celcom certain areas have really really good speed... other/most areas... normal speed only
*
Unlimited will show actual speed in fast.com

If 6Mbps plan.. fast.com will show 6Mbps, but Ookla will show full speed in that area, 170Mbps in yours.

Have to be sold. Or else, close.

If I'm not mistaken, they can't absorb Yoodo customers into CelcomDigi.

It's either get buyer or close.

I'm not expert about company shares, transfers, sellings or buying..

But I hope they'll think the easy way as you said, because I like yoodo.

why? just make it another Xpax product.

Cannot. MCMC said CelcomDigi can't own Yoodo.

Everyone must protest at MCMC because they're the one who set the rules

I think yoodo is the only real telco.. we get what we pay for, no BS. If unlimited, truly unlimited. If 40 mins calls, it is 40 mins call to any domestic number. Don't have credits going missing also.

We need to have all yoodo users to gather and do the protest. I think this is breach of yoodo's user rights.

But this has nothing to do with R&R, so most likely there won't be enough support from people also sad.gif
