using the free 5G for yoodo now.

went to KL/genting few weeks back. and now back to jaybee to use 5G. i realised that jaybee has overall much more coverage of 5G comparing to KL area. most of the mature area has 5G coverage. even my own house is under 5G coverage.

realised the reason why previously i cannot see 5G on my iphone 14 pro max. i am using esim (yoodo) and physical sim (singtel mvno) on my iphone. I previously set lion city physical sim as primary sim for data, that's why even when i am on roaming for the physical sim, it does not show 5G under the signal icon on the right upper top of the phone.

when i was in KL, i tried to switch the primary data to yoodo (esim) then only i can see 5G sign shown on my iphone.

best part about yoodo is the sim card is totally free no matter physical or esim. this is much better comparing to any other telcos. so any foreigner can easily activate yoodo esim as their data plan to use when they visit bolehland.

good thing about free physical sim is that they never expire. so can keep it for spare for future use. or even pass to friends/family members to use.

my experience with yoodo 5G is good. at least now some of the places without good 4G signal or the 4G is congested at the area, 5G can come into help in this situation since very little ppl on 5G now still.

however, the data usage on 5G is certainly much faster than 4G. i went to KL/genting for 5 days. on day 3 i already needed to activate a new plan to continue to use data (that time my old plan was activated for half a month only). previously my 20GB rm20 plan can last me before the next monthly renewal with no issue.

of course on travel, i will tend to use more data but it is certainly much faster in terms of usage on 5G.

If you pay rm15, you will get your SIM card within 2hrs.
If you really need it immediately then just go to 99speedmart to buy for rm2

Btw anyone here buy the sms add-ons? I didn’t and I’m wondering if I will need it since nowadays all using WhatsApp etc
I only came across one instance where I need to activate my credit card via sms.

ya. call n sms can just buy when needed. no bonus for subscription like data plan. later add on same value only

Are you able to set Call Forwarding on an iPhone?
I can’t get mine to set the number I want calls to forward to. It won’t register. I read some comments says yoodo don’t allow call forwarding but check with their CS, they say my iPhone problem.

Update - looks like I can only set conditional call forwarding and not "always forward"

Yoodo making out in the gutter, churning out nothing but shit lately

Since early this year, line been really unstable, CS keep saying got maintenance going on every time I make a complaint, tell them it could be SIM card problem they say no can't send a replacement SIM that easily.

Also no follow up news after the CelcomDigi merger, like they don't even care about surviving anymore.

I just got a 2nd Hotlink Pantas line to replace Yoodo (3 days of fucking downtime)

last time took 2 hours to get port out email,
this time, after 8 hours, still got nothing.
how long its take usually?

it depends on system timing
they promised 1-3 days on their website
some get it done within 1 hour, some gets it done after 2 days
