Not really. If you are using the best and most expensive router, you don’t really lose 10%. Most even get more than the subscribed speed. I am using the TP-Link AC3150 v2 and connected to PC via Cat6, I am getting my full or slightly more turbo speed of 300Mbps.

Anyway, if you are happy, then all good.

Getting full speed on wired, and on my laptop. Mobile getting 250-300Mbps in same floor with router, and on ground floor, probably 150-200Mbps. Using TP-Link AC3150 v2. Definitely not using TM stock router lol.

Why not? Tenda AC18 is more than capable to go to 300Mbps.

have used it for about a month... must say it's very stable. Much better than TM issued dLink 842. No regrets buying it.

Just bought the Tenda AC18 last week to replace the existing Maxis router and it works for Astro IPTV. The configuration is simple and easy.
1) Plug in the internet cable from TM modem to AC18 port (blue color)
2) Connect the default wifi to AC18 (the router comes with preset wifi ssid and password)
3) Access the Tenda configuration page (192.168.0.1 or tendawifi.com) via browser
4) Login the default Tenda page with 'admin'
5) Select the connection type: PPPoE
6) Enter the ISP username and password. Usually username like '123456@home.maxis.com.my', password will be '123456'+1, which is 1234561
7) Click next, setup your new wireless setting, then done.
For Astro IPTV, connect the network cable to port 4/IPTV. That's it.

ac18 is wayy more than enough for 300mbps. why need a successor or new model. u can try their mesh, now they promoting it.

hahaha 850l is a completely trash, ac18 uses the same chip as asus ac68u. should be sufficient, the wifi range is superb.

how do you find the 2.4ghz speed compare to earlier router? Huge improvement?

Just placed order on Lazada after app discount using CC, RM247.90..

Managed to get USB HDD working again. I think it's faster than other routers in similar price range, which is one of the reason why I bought Tenda AC18. 50MB/s read speed & 30MB/s write speed

Unplug my Windows tablet from the router (previously connected on Port 2 I think). Then I plug the HDD. Then reboot. I did this 2-3 times before the HDD finally works. Test via SMB.
