wifi test on 5g (phone) 2.4g (laptop and phone)

on the very short range (front of router itself ± less 1 meter) both 2.4g  & 5g speed test(fast.com/TM speedtest/speedtest.net)  show same result (50-60mpbs) 

My house if I use honor7x and Huawei p10 lite. Both max 50mbps only.

My mate 10 pro, p20 no problem getting full speed.

Something to do with antenna

My phone received almost the same speed. Is that normal for AC 18?

Before bought AC 18, I was understand that it should be no issue for AC 18 to reach 500 mbps on wifi 5ghhz.

Is there something wrong with configuration?

Can you explain more about "need to experimental"?

Can you share any steps to get the right setting?

I've tried using multiple bandwidths and channels and I still haven't got result better than 200+ mbps on 5ghz, if anything I got worse results lol. It's either my phone doesn't have good wifi antenna or the router itself is not that good. I really don't want to risk bricking my router by installing custom firmware.

Have better result on Merlin tho. On stock when using upstair can't go over >20mbps on dead spot, Merlin can >90mbps 😅

Can someone post fast.com result here when on LAN and WiFi connection? I am getting half the speed compare to when I am on D-Link 815. TIME 500Mbps here.

LAN max speed with cat 5e or 6. WiFi max ~280mbps

Yes using same cable to test, worst still the yellow cable came with AC18 getting even slower speed... weird

- try google and download this firmware version - AC18_kf_V15.03.3.7(4031)
- upgrade to this FW in tenda page
- after the upgrade, u will be allow to upgrade to merlin FW via tenda page.

then, just follow the instructions to restore nvram, reboot, etc...

Pretty straight forward, less hassle.
