u right. malaysian still dont like scooter.
if they have 20k, they like to buy normal big bike.

even compared within 150cc, those who buy nvx/nmax/pcx is just for fun, for works, already used big bike before or veteran just want to hv fun and some got people with legs/backhone injured etc.
im using nmax myself, most of people in the club group as i mentioned above.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

service cost same normal scooter but definitely much cheaper those VTS/kymcho maxi scooter
but if compared to kapchai, it dont hv oil filter but u need gear oil, which is normal for scooter.

engine oil cost me around rm50, every 4000km
gear oil around rm16, every 8000km
cvt service around rm35, every 5000-8000km
1 set of tires around rm300-400
the rest should be same as kapchai

pros
- good engine with nice pickup, bluecore tech with VVA
- nice full digital meter, got fuel avg, real time fuel, clock, service oil n replacement vbelt reminder
- nice at corner
- led headlight, brake lights
- leg position, wide seat
- top speed 120kmh, can reach 130- 140kmh if modi front pulley
- fuel tank around 6.6L with good FC, around 30-40km/L, full tank can reach more than 200km.
- got lots of accessories from indon@thai

cons
- lil bit of vibration at handle
- small wheel( but normal for scooter)
- absorber quite stiff, need to change to aftermarket
- there some issue with tensioner quality, starter contact easily rust, spark plug head easy to loose, side stand too short@inbalance cause the bike easy to fall
- expensive tires, but got nice choice like Michelin, pirrelli, maxxis
- its a scooter, amoi wont look at u same as those guys ride big bikes sweat.gif sweat.gif

i think once xmax came here, the service maintenance, spare parts might be expensive, same with those kymco brand.

HLYM will be offering the 2018 Yamaha XMax 250 at RM22,498.50 (basic price with GST). There are two colour options to choose from; Metallic White and Rusty Bronze.
Powered by a 250cc, single-cylinder, SOHC engine with liquid-cooling, the engine produces 22.5hp @ 7,000rpm and 24.3Nm of torque @ 5,500rpm.

The XMax 250 is also the first motorcycle in its class which comes ready with a one-piece, compact and rigid forged crankshaft. This promises improved performance, efficiency as well as contributing to the bike’s overall light weight and low mechanical noise.

Other extra features include ABS, traction control, large underseat storage which can fit two full-face helmets, smart key system, all-round LED lights, full LCD instrument panel, 12V power outlet for charging, adjustable handlebars and windshields just to name a few.

RM25k for 250cc scooter is too expensive. Can compare with 150cc Nmax and point what's difference to justify RM15k differences?
*
dun la compare with small scooter

maxi compare with maxi la

23k is cheap for a maxi scooter

compared to others like kawasaki J300 (30+k), Honda Forza 300 (30+k)

and their korean counterparts - kymco downtown (20+k) and sym cruisym (20+k)

kawasaki (and also bmw) use modified kymco scooter and still sell at premium prices

so 23k for a japanese manufacturer's scooter (100% made in indon) is berry reasonable

the time they announce it liao below 24k ayam ready

Betcha lots of current scooter/kapcai rider that just want to commute everyday looking for 250cc upgrade for a bit more oomph, but don't want big bulk like sym/elegan 250
*
also wrong. the cargo capacity is what most ppl (or at least myself) want

fast? as long as can cruise at highway speed ok liao
