I'd second the suggestion for getting a gax70. for the price, it looks great, plays well, and is very tough. one letdown is that if u play while standing up, it gets heavy towards the neck so may get tired quickly. but who cares

QUOTE(blacktrix @ Apr 30 2007, 10:12 PM) The GAX is already around RM800, so no... I don't think you can get a decent amp for RM100....... yes i`m agreed.. sx is number 2 besides ibanez. they look like ibanez. good quality. my friends buy 1 sx and play well with his baby. But if u really want ibanez just put a little more money n look out at diffrnt stores maybe u will get the lowest price!HOWEVER.... you can try out some of the SX guitars, which maybe is around RM300-500, and that leaves you some scratch to pick up a Roland Microcube. |

QUOTE(rage_against @ May 1 2007, 02:19 AM) Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not a fan of Strat. I'm looking for a guitar with hambucker (because I want to play rock and metal). Its not like I'm condemning you of your choice, its the understanding that really 'new guys' gotta understand first.According to blacktrix, Ibanez GAX 30 is out of question. Any other suggestion? Low-end Ibanez maybe? When you say, you wanna play metal and rock, but at the same time in your own sentences you say you are looking for a humbucker guitar to play rock and metal and not strat, it raises a question. One simple question and still people get it wrong. The question is "Do you understand the diffrence between a humbucker and a single coil pickups?" I've never really understood how to play metal on a 13k (7.5k each) PAF, but i can understand someone having single coils that are rated 9k (10k or even 14k) and above to play rock or metal.... |

get something simple, i kinda remember the GAX40/60 being quite cheap. ( correct me if im wrong then get a simple amp.
for beginners, just get something for you to practice. toy on it, later when you want to specialise and know something about tones and yadda yaddathen you decide it. |

epiphone les paul jr....if u can find a dealer... the guitar just around RM680.... which gives u around RM200+ for an amp.... amps are easier to find than guitars... the guitar is quite good for the price... neway u should survey very carefully b4 u buy...so dat u dont regret.. |

QUOTE(rage_against @ Apr 30 2007, 04:52 PM) Hi, I'd suggest getting a good amp since you won't replace that.......as for 'cheap' guitars..... just remember that you get what you pay for. I think for that budget you can probably get a relatively cheap/good amp and a fender squire.I'm a beginner. I have been playing my acoustic for about 1 year. Now it's time to buy an electric guitar and an amp. My budget is RM 900. BTW I'd like to play rock. I think I'm gonna buy Ibanez GAX 30 but I'll have less money for the amp. With my budget, is it possible to get a GAX30 and a good amp? I need your opinion. |
