would like to know what is the working condition like up there?
1)Food

3)activity after work
4)benefits

background:
got a call from a headhunter for a managerial position in their corporate department but have to relocate to GH.

1) Food
- for executive/above level, you will get rm1k/month for meal card which you can use on multiple outlets up there. If you are AVP/VP level, then you have more exclusive outlets that you can sign with the meal card.

2) colleagues
- totally depends on which department.

3) activity after work
- Benefits for executives will include access to free gyms, lounge with pool tables, karaoke, swimming pool, stadium. enjoy after work hours with friends I guess. Up here also have cinema (need to pay) if you like movies.

4) benefits
- other than the above, you will also get free skyway ride, free hostel room (can convert to transport allowance if you stay down the hill). Yearly bonus is all right (will vary every year). From time to time, there will be special discounts for staff on those outlets in GH mall. Once there was massive NIKE sales where I get over 70% discount woots.

Hi, i only just found this thread and quite busy preparing for upcoming job interviews and i don't really have the time to read throught 55 pages of this thread. Could you or anyone working there in genting please be kind enough to provide be with answer for 2 questions i need to know the answer?

1. Is it possible to get a personal room up there in genting for new staffs or will they put you in hostel type of room where there will be 2 or more people in a room? Don't mind paying money to get own room.
2. How is the crime rate up there now? Bcs from the first few pages i see many say crime is normal up there but those comments were from 2007. So i am hoping there is improvements???

1- new rsc9 will be personal room. The old hostel rooms are shared. Most likely you will get the new rsc9 tho.

Wow this is great if can get personal room. Will there be toilet in the room too? So confirm they won't put new recruits in the old hostel??? If true won't the old staff that been working at genting for years get angry they have to stay in old hostel but new staff get to stay in the new hostel???

If i have to stay in hostel in sharing room i won't be going for the interview.

hi just want to double confirm with you. If applying for GSA job will they put me in the new hostel that will have a personal room or old hostel where need to share with people???

cant confirm since I dont really stay up there, but i guess you can check with HR during the interview?. most of the executives are transferred last year to the new rsc already.

Ok thanks for your help then. The thing is if I can't get a personal room I don't want to even go to the interview since it will waste time and travel money.

are you interviewing for mgr position and above? you worked in chin@man company before?

No applying for low guest services assistance job. No never work in that kind of company b4. But genting consider that kind of company????

then u cant expect abit of luxury there unless you are stationed in new rsc9. depending on whose boss u reporting to, work expectation is high esp manager & above.

I don't mind the work. I just need a proper place to rest well. If genting can't offer me a personal room is there any decent small apartment walking distance to genting i can rent and about how much would it cost.

prolly at your level, you will be sharing room. I dont know, ask HR.

if walking distance, there is apartment but most likely the cost is pretty high. Most of the staff (who stay outside of hostel) actually stay at Batang kali and travel up daily. They travel to the skyway station and take free skyway ride to top.
