My maximum GPU temp is 57 and I don't see any artifacts after overclocking higher but it starts freezing up, I've underclock from the optimal detected frequency because it seems unstable. Any ideas? some forums say that they can play really well on the optimal settings. I'm using a Palit 7600GT AGP

, freezing until you have to hard-reboot or freezing for a while, and the game continue? possible your PSU is underpower (since you are saying, you're overclocking), 57C seems normal (indeed cool enough) , btw, i'm not sure about AGP, 7600GT AGP card comes with molex connector? did you plug-in the connector?

yeap, it came with the molex connecter if you meant the extra cable that connects to the graphic card. It freezes for like 5-10secs then continues. Power Supply not enough? I thought 7600GT need like 350w only? overclock also can increase ill 450+? This post has been edited by seanlee89: Apr 29 2007, 11:32 AM

Sounds like LAG, what game u playin dude? try to reduce its settings and see how the LAG goes ... or it might not because of Grafic actually ... Its just the 05 benchmark. Anyway, I tried removing 3 of my casing coolers and increase the frequencies. Again it freezes..so i doubt its my psu. Any more ideas?

I've encountered random hangs during really really graphic intensive scenes (and it resumes again after the 'momentary hang' like you described as well) but my 7600GT was overclocked @ 650/1550. GPU maxes out at about 70C and idles at around 44-46C?. No such hangs at slightly lower speeds though.
I reckon it's your I-Cute PSU...

I reckon it's your I-Cute PSU... same... it's your GPU, she's trying lowering your GPU clock to a safer clock... thus, pause 5~10 seconds, and continue... and your score, will be real low...

I already overclocked my card to 669 / 1.60 and nothings wrong. The optimal detected settings is 700 / 1.65. The thing is, my card temp isn't going above 62 or at least maxed i've seen is 67 but thats like really rare. Most of the time max is about 56. could it be pci latency issue? google 'pci latency tool', it will describe on what its all about *latency issue only applicable to pci/agp cards only
