I think COD 4 is the true sequel being develop by infinity ward, whilst COD 3 is sort of like GRAW 2, a slight improvement over its predecessor.

testing out the beta...all i can say is....GUYS, YOU"RE GONNA WANT TO SAVE $$$$ FOR THIS. IT ROCKS!
1. Lag is ok so far. 2. seems to be using the 'smart' matchmaking system for multiplayer (like halo 3) and hence u do spend a bit more time in the lobby because it tries to match u with games with the best connection (or with our wonderful streamyx, the least lag). 3. graphics of environments seems pretty good (afterall, it's a beta) 4. gameplay is pretty solid. 5. u can actually create your own class but i haven't reach that far in rank to try it out yet. so far only level 2 & getting pwned left, right & center. more to follow! |

so....more on the game...
1. 5 character class + 5 custom class slots: assault, sniper, heavy gunner, demolitions expert & recon 2. as u progress thru the rank, u unlock new stuff like guns & skills 3. so, only been playing 3 maps....i) some village, ii) an abandoned warehouse/factory & iii) an urban environment like something out of black hawk down (yes, with a freaking downed helicopter on the streets as well) 4. so far, managed to get to lvl 11 (sergeant) and that's the limit at the moment. considering it's only been 2 hours of play, it should be a steady progress for all of us playing it. 5. there are things called challenges. completing these challenges will unlock new stuff like camo, guns & skills (eg. kill 25 with headshots with ak-47) 6. more on the lag, the matchmaking has done it's job! so far, it's lag free for me with 3 green bars (which is the max i think). now to customize my character! This game is definitely going to be so good!
In fact, i just catch Black Hawk Down a few days ago, yes, again and during the show i was thinking if COD4 is gonna be something like this.Constant gunfire and chopper cutting through the streets with all the militants running around and trying to get you from all over the place! Just by thinking of it makes me  Oh btw, by advancing the rank, you get to obtain new skills right?! I wonder what kind of skills you will be getting |

This game raawks! WOooooooohooooo!
For the first time in a video game a ghillie suit actually works! When lying prone among the bushes, ppl can pass within a few feet and still they can't see you. Lag also not bad. Overall feel a lot like BF2:MC, but with the hallmark frenetic pace of the COD series. |

I think it is fine to play the beta on the same console you downloaded. From CharlieOscarDelta.com first wave release before official token release and after 2 COD4 auto updates until now I still can play everynight.

Sometimes too much grenade and firing around your area, it is hardly hear enemy coming to stab your back.

for those didnt get ur token for this download....the 2nd stash will be given out at 0100H mornin....which is 0900am PST.... There are 5 stashes. Each one will be released at 9am PST (10am MST, 11am CST, 12pm EST.) You have to be on the website http://www.gamespot.com/event/codes/call-of-duty-4/ at this time to get a token. Starting Monday, so there are still four stashes left: Tuesday (not gone yet,) Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Yeah you can carry RPG also at the back. I usually carry RPGs on all maps except Overgrown. Comes in handy to take down choppers.
Wish they allow you to shoot the chopper pilot like in BF2:MC. Those are really sweet kills. Imagine you're happily launching rocket salvos at the ppl on the ground than suddenly out of nowhere kena snipe. LoL. This post has been edited by MK84: Sep 12 2007, 10:25 AM |

When i play with Merlin few days back, there's a funny moment with the last stand. Somehow we're both down at the same time and both also have the last stand so we shooting each. I killed merlin but it was damn funny

Man I need to rank up more and unlock the scope attachments, right now, I'm like getting blasted long range all the time and I can do the same but chun-ted game none the less.

I think yesterday after the kicked out, most of them switched to other game.

You have to find me first..... muahahahaha. The Dragunov also not bad. Need a bit more finesse to use than the M21, but it's faster than the M40.

M40 higher damage, but you carry less rounds total. SVD damage is about the same as M40 and you carry more rounds. No worry of running out of ammo.

Yup the demo is pretty darn awesome! Can't wait till the full game. Here's some pic from my pc at 1920x1200 n everything max and i still get around 30fps average.
Far better than the overhyped Crysis which had a lot of performance issues. UT3 demo is out for the PC as well n amazingly smooth also (45fps+ at 1920x1200).     |

If they follow real world combat scenarios...maybe the P90...5.6mm AMMO FTW!
But no game has ever given the P90 its props(Counter Strike,R6:Vegas etc) I see some WW2 guns in there MP44 AND mg 42... My favourites...the SAW and G36 are good contenders for "King of all guns" and the RPG... |
