This took less time than expected – Xiaomi is pushing out a new version of the Oreo update for the Mi A1. That update was pulled on Friday after the discovery of several nasty bugs.

The new update reportedly resolves the Bluetooth battery drain, random reboots and other issues, it also restores the gesture functionality of the fingerprint reader. Also included in this update is the January security patch. The original update packed the December patch.

If you already installed the defective update, the new version is a small 89MB download. If you’re still on Nougat, then it’s a more substantial 1,112MB update.

today, for the 1st time i enable bluetooth. and the phone hang for couple of minutes. then when the phone back responsive, i can use the bluetooth just fine. i hope to get the Jan security patch asap as I'm sure there is something wrong with the bluetooth functionality. i'm currently on Oreo Dec security patch.

hi all A1 users,

I just got my phone today..

Would like to know, what's the good file manager apps to install and other good apps to install to this phone to ease our usage? Im switch from iphone user to this phone.. still learning Stock Android Phone...

just fount out like those calculator also need to install right?
*
welcome to android world bro. If you are on Android Oreo; for simple file management, u can just use Files (stock app which is pre-installed). Calc app also is already pre-installed. i believe you are still in Nougat. might just wait as Oreo update might be available again any time soon.

hi  guys
do you think Xiaomi will release new Mi A1 this year?
*
It's too early to say that. Maybe Android One goes to other phone maker or different Mi model.

Guys having GPS problem ?  I am with uMobile and facing GPS problem recently.
*
Previously someone mentioned it's because of uMobile APN settings that does not assist to lock GPS by cell tower. Need to modify the APN settings to make it works.

I was wondering mid-range Xiaomi Mi A1 or straight go for 2016 flagships OnePlus 3T.

But buyer initial thought of getting the Huawei Nova 2i / OPPO F5. After I check with the spec tiada Type C or Fast Charging pulak, only the awesome 18:9 ratio screen.
*
OnePlus 3T do have better spec, but I prefer stock Android. Are u using Samsung phone now? Saw your avatar change from SD to Exynos.

Once you use Stock Android for quite some time, you not really want to use other UI....
*
I've been using stock Android for 4 years since Jelly Bean. Mostly using Google apps.

Can anyone recommend me where to buy Mi A1 online? The prices are cheaper than what my shops nearby sell. My concern is that they might sell me non-Msia Mi A1 models and the packaging is bad, ie without bubble wrap.
So, has anyone bought Mi A1 via Lazada or 11thstreet and can recommend me a seller?  icon_question.gif
*
If buy from Lazada, check for local seller and comments. Make sure item can be return if there is any issue with the phone. Most of them did not bubble wrapped the phone. I had bought 3 phones from Lazada and had no issue with the phone when they arrived.

is my battery life considered good?

[attachmentid=9542071]

Oreo 8.0
*
the SOT is consider good because it's almost 3 days since your last charge. even you did not turn on the screen phone, android/cell standby/apps is still using the battery. i believe for 1 day usage, u can hit 6 hours SOT minimum.

I just got my Mi A1 today. How do I activate my warranty? Is the warranty card the sticker on the back of phone?
*
I did not do anything. just keep the purchase receipt.

seems like a good phone.. how about gaming performance?
*
gaming performance quite good. phone not heating up. temp probably around 40C max.

QUOTE(Snoopycute98 @ Jan 31 2018, 01:59 PM)
So i got 1 Mi A1

Why does it comes with 2 pin adapter?
*
do not worry about it. due to high demand, Xiaomi had to bring in the 2-pin changer to cater the demand.

QUOTE(Snoopycute98 @ Jan 31 2018, 04:30 PM)
Inb4 anyone tried Android Oreo yet? How to update to Oreo?  drool.gif
Damn, my phone doesn't even have oreo, and this A1 has it already.
*
I guess most of the users here already updated to Oreo. Just wait for it to pop up on your phone. probably the update is being pull again for the third time since a lot of users reporting the same bug.
