QUOTE(Kiefer @ Aug 1 2018, 10:27 AM) All devices will heat up when used for long time. Just how hot only. Snapdragon is okay. Exactly! Snapdragon 625 generates less heat than those older SD chipsets. It's quite a balance chipset and furthermore I m not a heavy gamer. For those uses the phone and want to keep it cool while using in car, just place the phone near the aircond vent. |

Mi A3 Specifications
Let us check the specifications of the Mi A3. 6.3 inch Full HD Plus Notch Display Snapdragon 710 Chipset Android P. With a promised update to Android Q and Android U. 4 GB/6GB RAM. 64GB/128GB/256GB Internal memory variants Dual Rear Camera - 16 + 20 MP (f/1.7 aperture) 24MP Front Camera Dual Sim. No MicroSD Card Slot. 4000 mAh battery Type C Fast Charging No headphone jack Dual 4G VOLTE Check below the things that change between the MI A2 and the Mi A3 From Mi A2 to Mi A3: The things that will change The first big change will be the display where we would witness a bigger 5.99-inch notch type display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The notch display has been in fashion now and is surely what Xiaomi will focus. With a beautiful display, the build will be of metal. Though the looks and build matter a lot, what matters equivalently or rather more is the Processor and camera of the Mi A3. On the processor side, Xiaomi will debut with the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 7XX series processor (the Snapdragon 710) which scores a massive 1,73,000 on the Antutu Benchmark. The camera is expected to further improve with a lot of AI capabilities and improvisation in the beautify mode. We expect MI A3 to feature 16MP + 20MP Dual rear camera with the aperture to further go down at f/1.7 compared to the 12MP + 20 MP sensor with f/1.75 seen on the MI A2. This rear camera setup would enable Mi A3 to click the best images even in the low light without any noise. Coming to the front camera of Mi A3, we expect a 24MP sensor with the reduction in the aperture to f/1.7 compared to the f/1.75 20MP sensor. We expect Mi A3 to enter into the market with Snapdragon 710. With the extreme powerful performance of the Snapdragon 710, the performance will be super smooth and the gaming experience will also improve with no lag or even minor frame drops. The application with load faster and multitasking experience will improve. Snapdragon 7xx series is also more energy efficient, hence the battery would remain the same at 4000 mAh as seen on Mi A2, which would also help regulate the thickness and weight of the phone. While the good news is that the Mi A3 would feature fast charging with a fast charger bundled in the box. The 3.5 mm headphone jack was removed on the Mi A2, and Mi A3 will also hold only the USB Type C with no headphone jack. The Android One tag would obviously remain intact with Android P pre-installed and promised updates to Android Q and Android U. ![]() Snapdragon 710 is the recently launched mobile platform processor from Qualcomm and holds the maximum priority to be seen in the Mi A3. Qualcomm explains this 710 as a platform that brings in premium features for the new tier of smartphones and is very well designed to support next-generation artificial intelligence(AI) technology along with superior performance. It has support for 4K HDR video playback capability and has Adreno 616 GPU that renders graphics 35% faster and has 62 times more display colours. The Snapdragon 710 is also powerful as it supports the display with up to QHD+ (2K) resolution. Overall it has 15% fast app launch, up to 25% faster web browsing and consumes up to 40% less power while gaming when compared to the Snapdragon 660 which is seen in the MI A2. This snapdragon 7XX uplifts itself well above the 6xx series of Qualcomm and sets the tone for the next generation smartphone. What else we can expect from Mi A3 There are a few additional things that can be expected from the Mi A3. Though these expectations seem far-fetched, it all depends on the market trend at the time of launch of Mi A3 and what other companies in the similar price range of 15-20k are offering. Honor has been focussing on the looks and camera performance of the phone while giving the overall performance a little less importance. For Xiaomi, it has all been a game for performance and decent looks with the best camera. The few things we can expect from the Mi A3 launch in India are. Glass Back Design: Xiaomi has been a favourite of the metal unibody design of its smartphone. However, Honor has been focussing on the glass back design as was seen on the Honor 9 Lite and the Honor 9N. Depending on the trend ongoing in the industry at the time of launch and the demand of Mi Android One Platform, there is a possibility of Xiaomi trying out the glass back design. The glass design looks totally gorgeous and mesmerizing and can add a feather to the Xiaomi powerful smartphones. No Notch and Only Screen: There is a 99% possibility of a notch design with 19:9 aspect ratio on a 6.3 inch Full Hd Plus display as was discussed above. But there are slim chances that the company might ditch the notch display and go with the pure bezel-less display with no notch or bezel anywhere on the display. This is something as was seen on the Vivo Nex. IP 67 Rating: Lastly, there is also a mild possibility of the introduction of IP rating to the Xiaomi smartphone under 20000. We have been the very solid Moto X4 holding the IP 68 waterproof and dustproof rating for the 20k-25k price tag but less focus on the looks. Xiaomi might also look to further balance its portfolio with the introduction at least the IP 67 rating, if not the IP 68 rating. IP 67 rating protects the smartphone from water depth up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes, while the IP 68 protects the smartphone for continues immersion in water even at a depth greater than 1 meter. Similar is the case with dust protection where IP67 rating may see some penetration of dust, but IP68 is fully protected from any penetration. You can further read the difference between IP 67 vs IP 68 here. Mi A3 Price In India After a huge success of MI phones in the last 2 years with the success wave riding on Redmi Note 4 to Mi A1 to Redmi Note 5 Pro and now to the MI A2. The primary reason of success of Mi Phones has been competitive pricing with the best specification. For MI A3, we expect the same and that Xiaomi would keep the pricing very competitive. With a need for higher speed, more storage space, We expect Mi A3 to be launched in India with 3 variants catering to the audience who look to spend under 20k. The expected price of Mi A3 (all 3 variants) is as follows. Variant (RAM - Storage) Price (in Rs) 4 GB - 64 GB 17999 6 GB - 128 GB 20999 6 GB - 256 GB 22999 Mi A3 Launch Date in India Xiaomi has seen huge success with the MI Ax series as the Android One Platform and the Note 4/5 Pro platforms. With Mi A2 in town at the perfect time when the demand has saturated for Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi again looks itself to be the king of flash sales. Redmi 4/5 and the Redmi Y1/Y2 have decently attracted the audience but only a minor percentage when compared to the Hotshot Note Platform. Mi A1 was a Flipkart exclusive device and Mi A2 is Amazon exclusive smartphone. Mi A3 might be a Flipkart exclusive smartphone next year. With the ongoing trend of the Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 6 and Note 6 Pro are expected to be launched by December 2018 to January 2019, Which would be followed by the much-awaited Mi A3. Given this trend, Mi A3 is expected to launch in India by May 2019. We will keep updating this article with latest leaks and rumors about Mi A3 so stay tuned. |
