Hey, i think it's actually based on your preferences and all. If you're waiting 8th gen to release, of course the performance will improve but not sure how much difference it will be. But you have a tight budget, i think now its the best time for you to get a laptop as i believe all of the brand will try to push 7th gen laptops with some sorts of promotion. smile.gif

There's only one right now. It's an ultrabook.

So it's thin and light too.

Lenovo 720S with ryzen 2500u = RM3299 with 4GB 2400 RAM.

-First tips is to NEVER change the power plan to high performance. The performance stays the same but turns the ultrathin to a furnace. Balanced is just perfect. No bugs yet, seems to be the most stable of the bunch.

-For now, I can confirm it's able to play bioshock 1 (not remake) at 1080p with minor stutter, latest indie games definitely doable, saints row 4 ok. Witcher 2 max 720p no AA. Mafia 2 max settings at 720p.

-Well, you basically have the performance in between 940m to 940MX.

-Basically any games at 2017 all playable at 720p, high textures. Games before 2017 you can definitely play at 1080p, unless it's Nvidia optimized. Then stick to 720p with high textures.

-And you can game all those games on battery for 3 hours. I'm not kidding! It's using the same amount of power as it's playing a YouTube video. Just AS LONG AS you keep the power plan to balance.

Good . I'm buying for cod remaster . Since you say like that its 2016 game so I will be able to play in 1080p . It's a good buy to utilize my 144hz monitor.

1. Preferred brand : Any
2. Budget : 3.5k ~ 4k
3. Usage : College, light CAD, gaming
4. Screen Size: 15

4. Main preference : priority will be performance and quality, free dos if possible, sdd is optional (have 1 already), have extra slot for me to put in another hard disk (eg. dvd bay convert to hdd slot)
5. Usage: i'll be working a lot on google office (cloud), will be using photoshop/lightroom/premier, moderate gaming

1. Preferred brand : Not sure which one to get as each brand has their own YES and Nos

2. Budget : High end (unlimited budget) - just tell me which brand/model is the best

3. Screen Size : any will do

4. Main preference : 2 main primary priorities - Must be VR ready and have good cooling function / Secondary preference - good after sales/tech service

5. Usage: VR gaming - will only be using at weekends

As mentioned above, I really dont know which brand is the best as I've never used a gaming laptop before. Different brand(s) have their own pro and cons and to make things worst, users/owners have different reviews on the products - some say YES and some say NO

TQ

I'm interested in thing and light gaming laptops that have hood battery life. Especially the Gigabyte Aero 15X and Aorus x5/x7 line. But can anyone recommend other notebooks too?

Is there any Gigabyte/Aorus laptop resellers in Malaysia?

Would be great if anyone can recommend a shop for those brands, or other laptops that are thin and light but is also powerful enough for gaming.

But not the msi GS63 or GS73 as those laptops have subpar battery life
