Was there any other way to check? Sorry, I rarely book flight tickets so I’m really not sure. What I did was selecting the ticket on same dates, and just looking at the checkout price.
*
did you try entering your cimb cc details and check the total payment (before confirm) ?

Is this the final price or the final price will come on the page after this? Scared to click next because don't want to double book.
*

the final price i checked for end of oct return ticket is RM1.4k+, when i bought it last week its almost RM2k. definitely worth it since airasia without luggage also 1.1k d, include luggage also almost same d. and mas got better service and much more comfy
u have to go to the promotion link first. which is stated in ur screenshot there, with the /CIMBpromo. then from there just search lik normal by entering location and date on top. must b through tht link else it show u normal price.
*
from 2k to 1.4k...is like almost 30% off !!!!!!

Hmmmm then it's not really that cheap hmm.gif thought it's subject to further discount. If not, then I guess the period I want to travel is still expensive - peak season (New Year).
*
indeed...180+/- ain't that great of a discount

Haha yes agree

My 1st  time to japan.. im thinking if i shud hang around tokyo for whole week.. or go down to osaka..
*
my suggestion..if you are going japan for 7 days...better stick with one location, e.g: kyoto/osaka or tokyo alone

tokyo got so much to offer...

Anyone flew ANA before? Thinking between ANA or MAS.. mas 3.3k for 2.. ana 3.8k..
*
ANA is definitely miles better than MAS

Hello sifus. Will need all your kind input and advice. I have never been to japan, and am planning to visit tokyo next year in March. May I know what’s the airfare pricing that’s considered cheap/reasonable?

From what i checked, cheapest is around rm1.8k return
*
assuming you are going end march - early april for sakura...

the usual rate that i see is 1.5k and above for airlines such as MAS, JAL, ANA...the lowest fare that i have seen was 1.3k

as for AA...not much difference for normal price, if you are lucky...you prolly can get the lowest fare around 900 inm

Now.. looking for hotel..

you didn't mention the airline that you have booked ...

QUOTE(skzisghost @ Jul 25 2018, 12:35 PM)
Guys any tactic on booking which date to catch sakura full bloom for sure in 2019? Without booking 1 month prior to sakura season ofc, as the accomodation will become a big problem.

This year the forecast is inaccurate and many tourist end up arriving too late to see sakura.

Planning to bring my parents there as sakura viewing is their dream, it would be real disappointment if we arrive too late/too early.

Plan to go from osaka-kyoto-tokyo-hokkaido - 14days++ trip.

Thanks in advance.

14 - 15 days for 4 main cities...?

Do we need any vaccines to go to Japan? Especially for kids. Going in autumn
*
japan gahmen doesn't specify any vaccines...

but it would for your kids' best of interest to receive all possible vaccinations, regardless of travel

try google all location you planing to go, calculate the cost of the transport, then you will know 7/14 days rail pass, or even no need rail pass is suitable for you

please take note rail pass cannot take all of the bullet train

my advice
osaka - kyoto = no need pass (very near, ticket is cheap)
kyoto - tokyo = 14650 yen
tokyo <-> hakone = hakone pass, cannot use japan rail pass (correct me if i wrong with this)

total only 15k yen in your JR train expenses, 7 days pass already cost you 38k yen??

otherwise you are going many place, example Kobe, Himeji, Nara, Nagoya, then you may buy rail pass.
*
he’s landing in tokyo...

if assuming he’s not taking a plane or bus, then it will be shinkansen from tokyo to osaka/kyoto, then osaka/kyoto to tokyo...makes sense to get the 7-day jr pass provided he’a travelling to other smaller cities as well

Hi Guys, planning to go Japan soon, is Airbnb still relevant as the accommodation? Heard Japan is banning Airbnb now, any good alternative for cheap place to stay?

japan is setting more rules on airbnb...not banning all of them

Hi Japan sifus,  I will be at Kanazawa this December and planning to rent a car to drive from Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go, Takayama and Ainokura Village for a day trip.  There are 5 of us and we feel it is much cheaper to self drive and also we can see more places at our convenience.
My questions are; 1. Will it be easy to drive from Kanazawa to those mentioned places around mid December? 2. Anyone done this route before and care to share some points to look out for?
Thanks in advance.. Cheers

driving in winter ...i am only concern on the snow condition on the road, because it tends to be icy and if you haven't had any experience driving on it, then you will face difficulty even with snow tires or snow chains on

having said that, not sure the areas that you intend to go will have heavy snow or not

Answer was No.
Hakone and Nikko transport are non JR
Mt Fuji yes...because it got collaborate with Fujikyu Railway.
Main Purpose for this pass was going Karuizawa & Lake Kawaguchiko only. Other than this 2 spot, are useless.
*
hi RC,

you're saying Fujikyu Railway is covered under JR pass, is this applicable to Fujikyu Line from Otsuki station - Kawaguchiko Station - ShimoYoshida station ?

thanks

edit:
ok...i realized you are referring to Tokyo Wide Pass, not JR pass

What would you do in Hokkaido if you are there for 3 months from Sept to Nov?

I am quite lucky in the sense that I got to intern in Sapporo from mid of Sept to end of Nov. Since I am working from Mon to Fri, most of the weekends I would plan to travel. But I am the frugal type so I don't plan to go too far.

There are already a few places in my mind that I plan to go.
Otaru, Niseko, Noboribetsu, Furano, Biei, Hakodate

I would love to see autumn leaves and snow (would do ski, still thinking either Furano or Niseko) Seems like Niseko ski resort has better view because of that one big mountain you can see in the background, but heard that it is crowded with many American and Australian, while Furano ski resort isn't that crowded.

For autumn foliage viewing, seems like most of them are further up in northern area of Hokkaido. I am glad if someone recommends some autumn leaves viewing around Sapporo.
*
not sure if mid Nov has enough snow at ski resorts...

Just want to confirm.

JL724 flight (JAL) to Narita-2 is from KLIA1 and not KLIA2 right?
And also it shows :

Departure
22:50
Kuala Lumpur (External link Kuala Lumpur International Airport)

Arrival
7:05 +1 Next day
Tokyo (External link Narita International)

Mean 10.50pm Malaysia time depart from KLIA, and 8.05am(Japan time) reach Narita?
*
as for as i know...

KLIA 2 only has airasia flights...no other flights

correct me if i am wrong

yes. if you can, get the seat on right hand side of the train for the best view.

[attachmentid=9988861]

if you can't, don't worry, there's also something to see at the left hand side. Just not as nice
*
thnx for the info...

how much earlier can we board the sagano train...to maximize the chances of grabbing right side seats
