the final price i checked for end of oct return ticket is RM1.4k+, when i bought it last week its almost RM2k. definitely worth it since airasia without luggage also 1.1k d, include luggage also almost same d. and mas got better service and much more comfy
u have to go to the promotion link first. which is stated in ur screenshot there, with the /CIMBpromo. then from there just search lik normal by entering location and date on top. must b through tht link else it show u normal price.

Hmmmm then it's not really that cheap thought it's subject to further discount. If not, then I guess the period I want to travel is still expensive - peak season (New Year).

Guys any tactic on booking which date to catch sakura full bloom for sure in 2019? Without booking 1 month prior to sakura season ofc, as the accomodation will become a big problem.

This year the forecast is inaccurate and many tourist end up arriving too late to see sakura.

Planning to bring my parents there as sakura viewing is their dream, it would be real disappointment if we arrive too late/too early.

Plan to go from osaka-kyoto-tokyo-hokkaido - 14days++ trip.

try google all location you planing to go, calculate the cost of the transport, then you will know 7/14 days rail pass, or even no need rail pass is suitable for you

please take note rail pass cannot take all of the bullet train

my advice
osaka - kyoto = no need pass (very near, ticket is cheap)
kyoto - tokyo = 14650 yen
tokyo <-> hakone = hakone pass, cannot use japan rail pass (correct me if i wrong with this)

total only 15k yen in your JR train expenses, 7 days pass already cost you 38k yen??

otherwise you are going many place, example Kobe, Himeji, Nara, Nagoya, then you may buy rail pass.

Hi Japan sifus,  I will be at Kanazawa this December and planning to rent a car to drive from Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go, Takayama and Ainokura Village for a day trip.  There are 5 of us and we feel it is much cheaper to self drive and also we can see more places at our convenience.
My questions are; 1. Will it be easy to drive from Kanazawa to those mentioned places around mid December? 2. Anyone done this route before and care to share some points to look out for?

Mt Fuji yes...because it got collaborate with Fujikyu Railway.
Main Purpose for this pass was going Karuizawa & Lake Kawaguchiko only. Other than this 2 spot, are useless.

What would you do in Hokkaido if you are there for 3 months from Sept to Nov?

I am quite lucky in the sense that I got to intern in Sapporo from mid of Sept to end of Nov. Since I am working from Mon to Fri, most of the weekends I would plan to travel. But I am the frugal type so I don't plan to go too far.

There are already a few places in my mind that I plan to go.
Otaru, Niseko, Noboribetsu, Furano, Biei, Hakodate

I would love to see autumn leaves and snow (would do ski, still thinking either Furano or Niseko) Seems like Niseko ski resort has better view because of that one big mountain you can see in the background, but heard that it is crowded with many American and Australian, while Furano ski resort isn't that crowded. 

For autumn foliage viewing, seems like most of them are further up in northern area of Hokkaido. I am glad if someone recommends some autumn leaves viewing around Sapporo.
