Probably burn 8 holes, rather, as it is reported that initial DDR3 memory modules will be 8x more expensive!!! rclxub.gif

Ya lo. I guess it will slowly come down to CL6 then CL5. Like DDR2......

Going to miss those days where CL2.0 was such a thrill to aim for!!!! cry.gif

I also don't think so as DDR3 mobos is supposed to be able to support DDR2. A lot of people would probably use the DDR2 rams when they upgrade (especially those with good DDR2 modules e.g. corsair dominator rclxm9.gif )

wrong! DDR3 supprt for AMD does not need any chipset because memory controller is built-in the cpu.

AM3 cpu will support DDR3

Some reports indicate that it will become mainstream in 2009 (probably not, considering the track records of new computer hardware/software).

I'm also using DDR, hmmmmm..... wonder whether we can streeeeettccchhhhh the life of our current rig, wait a bit longer, and jump straight into DDR3 and skip DDR2 altogether!!!! LOL whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif
