If not mistaken, Apple CarPlay only supports Apple's native Maps App, which is rubbish. Not sure if that has changed though.

You can get SP from anywhere. Depends you want a TG type of the silicone plastic type.

Used it on my Civic. No difference than iPhone 6 Plus on iOS11, and most importantly, still no Waze. Still prefer to use my Mate 9 Pro for Android Auto & Waze on the Civic.

My main music player is Apple Music, so I do miss the vast music playlist that I have on my iPhone, but I value Waze most. Siri, calling, interface, I prefer CarPlay better actually. It's just that the lack of Waze is putting me off CarPlay entirely.

I personally find it worse than my iPhone 5s.

iPhone X A11 Bionic processor has high efficiency-low powered core, and when the screen is locked, the iPhone turned into low powered mode, and this causes jaggy-ness when scrolling the Spotify playlist.

You will notice it is very smooth when scrolling the Spotify when the screen is on; But once locked and dimmed, the scrolling became noticeably lessresponsive.

I believe iPhone 7 also suffered the same fate, as it also featured low powered cores in its A10 processor.

I am not sure if this is Carplay issue or Spotify issue, heck, it could even be my car head-unit issue. I hope this will get fixed eventually, possibly with an iOS firmware update, but as of right now, it is worse than my old 5s.

On the bright side, Jailbreak for iPhone X with iOS version less than 11.2 is imminent. With the new OLED screen, I think we can easily have a tweak that can fully dim the screen, without locking the device, and work around this problem.

If you're on version less than 11.2 ( ie. 11.1.2, 11.1, 11.0.1 ), stay there and refrain from updating to the latest 11.2, as jailbreak for those version are coming anytime soon.

As I once mentioned in the Civic discussion thread, you can get Waze (or any other app) to run with jailbreak tweak
