Yes you can appeal, and in fact you can actually complain on this matter to Grab through the driver's app. After you drop off the rider, give that lovely red face and there's something about fare not enough or something.

You can write an essay comprising of 1000 words and Grab will still not give a bloody hoot. I know this because I've complained about this so many times before. RM6 fare for 6km, RM8 fare for 8km. The best personally for me was RM6 for 8km! I believe they calculate the distance cut through all hills and divider and buildings and all.
*
Ugh...i already give green face after complete the trip

Ya....the famous grab pembaris theory

QUOTE(yhtan @ Jul 31 2018, 11:09 PM)
Could have some shortest route which never reflect in Waze/Google map. Later u try and measure the distance on google map.

Appeal is just useless, they will just give u copy pasta answer.
*
Distance measurement on google map is indeed 22km.....so no point to appeal as you said and just have to suck it up.

Below as copied and pasted here from WhatsApp group.

Hey guys, just want to give you guys a preview on an official announcement that's going out later.

1. Higher peak hour fares
2. Commission will be dropped to 20%. But only for Auto Accept rides. So if you switch it and you're on 25% commission, you'll only be charged 20%. If you're already on 20% then no change lah.
3. We will compensate for far pickups. This is if the fare per KM for total travel distance (where you are to pick up point to drop off point) is less than RM1/km
4. HG incentives will be topped up next business day
5. No more AR requirements for incentives. But incentives will only be given for Auto Accept rides and online hours.
*
No:5 screw everything.....grab algorithm will minimize our incentive.no more 3 trips per block

Why people still think bangla indon myammar poor? Actually most of them make lot of money in malaysia. I always ask them about the pay and accomodation. Accomodation 100% by employer, food they cook everyday so they jimat a lot.
*
A lot of foreigners run their own food business by renting stalls in chinese kopitiam.

One chicken rice stall and one dai chow stall in my area (both Myanmar) can easily earn 8K- 10k net profit per month easily judging from the volume of their business

And here i am driving grab for a portion of that income.how embarassing

Finally, some good news for drivers in this challenging times

EPF partners Grab to promote i-Saraan[B]

KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and ride-hailing service provider, Grab Malaysia, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to encourage the ride-hailing driver-partners community to participate in EPF's voluntary retirement savings programme, Caruman Sukarela Insentif Persaraan (i-Saraan).

EPF chief executive officer Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan said members of the ride-hailing community participating in the programme would be provided with a secure savings option as the EPF has a proven track record of sustainable, above-inflation returns which will enhance the value of their savings over the long-term.

“By contributing to the scheme, Grab driver-partners can enjoy the same benefits as an EPF member, such as annual dividends on their retirement savings, tax relief, death benefit and access to our retirement advisory service at no cost,” he said in a statement today.

Shahril said on top of annual dividends and benefits, the government would top up an additional 15% of annual contributions to a maximum of RM250 per year until 2022 for members below age 55.

Grab Malaysia Country Head, Sean Goh said by partnering with EPF, the company was supporting the government's initiative to create a more holistic social protection ecosystem, starting with ensuring the retirement wellbeing of the Grab community of driver-partners.

“In fact, based on a survey with our driver-partners, 75% of them have expressed interest to save for their retirement specifically through this collaboration.

“We therefore want to encourage them to take charge and be in the driver's seat of their future financial security,” he said.

i-Saraan, previously known as the 1Malaysia Retirement Savings Scheme is designed to allow individuals who are self-employed or those who receive no regular monthly income, such as taxi drivers, petty traders, farmers, freelancers, as well as, those working in the gig economy, to save for their retirement while enjoying the same benefits as EPF members.

Effective Aug 16, 2018, Grab would also contribute five per cent on the amount contributed by selected driver-partners, subject to a maximum of RM80 a year, in addition to the government incentives provided.

According to statistics by the Institute of Labour Market Information and Analysis (ILMIA), out of Malaysia's 22 million working population, only 7.1 million were actively contributing to the EPF and 1.7 million were covered by the public pension scheme.

The remaining 13.2 million comprised individuals who were self-employed or freelancers and outside the labour force not covered by any formal social protection programme in the country. - Bernama

😱MOT mao wang
😱EPF mao wang
later incometax,sst....end of the day for driver...
future nett only get 20% of total fare....thank you new grvmnt...
*
EPF for Grab driver is optional.....but would recommend drivers to take part in this since government will top up for us.

RM200 contribution per month x 12 = RM2400
Govt top up = RM250
EPF Return x 6% =rm159

Total : RM2809
ROI (approx.) = (RM2809-RM2400)/2400
= 17%

Wont be rich from this, but not bad lah.
