I was wondering does the government has the right to reclaim lease hold housing land which is occupied and havent reach 99 years? If yes, will there be any compensations and how will be the compensations like? Is there anyway for the occupants to bantah the claim?

Is leasehold not list hold.
They can retake the land but have to pay compensations.

but with the rising cost of housing, will the compensations be enough?

land acquisition act.

can but conditions must be fulfilled.

main condition - must be for public purpose.

Leasehold or Freehold or Malay Reserve or whatever, gov still can take the land by using Land Acquisition Act. But they must take the land for public purpose (ya the term 'public' is too general...example. can take land and build MRT and mix development)
compensation is base on the value of the land. You can fight in court, challenge the compensation value and try to get higher compensation...

One thing you need to know if the government wants your land no matter what title you hold they can take it back and give their compensation value for it

Better not buy house that have likelihood of being used to build LRT/MRT lines.
