QUOTE(rocketm @ Jul 15 2020, 12:09 AM) I just read through the fund information of this gold etf. You don't pay this directly. It's paid by the fund manager and will be part of the management expense ratio of the ETF. May I know do they charge you the quarterly licence fee? ![]() Btw if u are using Rakuten, they block this ETF and you have to call them first when you want to buy. That's irritating. |

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Aug 5 2020, 02:28 PM) You must have free cash in your account when you buy. This is a shariah rule to buy physical gold. Free cash is not the same as a trading limit. Basically, the system can't auto check. So u call them up, they check and if you have free cash then only they allow you to key in online. |

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Aug 5 2020, 04:00 PM) They cannot.I use itrade to buy this too. Btw if this is first time to buy etf on bursa, there is a RM150 TnG r-wallet cash back. https://www.bursamarketplace.com/etf-cashback/ Sadly I don't qualify since only for new investors. |

Just to add, this ETF is backed by real physical gold.
Investors can demand or redeem the ETF in exchange to physical gold, if one has 500k unit, which is equivalent to 5kg of gold at the expenses of some fees. It is a good alternative for retail investors to invest in physical gold in small quantity. |

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Aug 5 2020, 04:07 PM) They cannot.I use itrade to buy this too. Hi there I have itrade with cgs cimb account and never bought etf before? Btw if this is first time to buy etf on bursa, there is a RM150 TnG r-wallet cash back. https://www.bursamarketplace.com/etf-cashback/ Sadly I don't qualify since only for new investors. So is it just key in the stock code to search for it then just buy? Not sure if I can qualify and how I should apply for this promotion. Also how does the commission work? Lastly any maintenence fee to charge from us or is the fee just deduct from the etf itself? Many thanks. |

QUOTE(joeblow @ Aug 7 2020, 03:46 PM) Hi there I have itrade with cgs cimb account and never bought etf before? U don't need to apply for the promotion. Just need to buy RM3000 value of etf before 2 Nov using a direct CDS account. Limited to first 500 investors. The RM150 will be given out after the period ends. Since this is a bursa promotion they can know which investors buy via direct CDS. Open to all Bursa etf, not just the goldetf. So is it just key in the stock code to search for it then just buy? Not sure if I can qualify and how I should apply for this promotion. Also how does the commission work? Lastly any maintenence fee to charge from us or is the fee just deduct from the etf itself? Many thanks. https://www.bursamarketplace.com/etf-cashback/tnc.html Buying etf is just like buying stocks but no stamp duty. No extra charges payable. |

QUOTE(Kaka23 @ Aug 8 2020, 10:34 AM) etf liquidity based on market makers, if wanna sell at market makers' price then very easy sell.another thing is whether your platform allows anytime buy and sell. Like rakuten needs you to inform them when you wanna buy sell goldetf. |

QUOTE(Kaka23 @ Aug 8 2020, 10:34 AM) So far, based on my observation, (I could be wrong), there is market maker, on both side of buy and sell, always got range of Q of 1000 unit.ETF successful or not is largely depended on market maker that constant bid and ask closely to its NAV. When there is always market maker there, then retailers don't need to worry about the liquidity, by then it has chance to be more popular. When it is popular, then liquidity become a non-issue. |
