Videos
Recorded in 1920×1080 30fps with an overall bit rate of 16.1 Mb/s. Firmware version 1.0.2.

Final thoughts
I think this 70Mai dashcam is a super budget dashcam below RM200 (US$50) price range with Sony IMX323 sensor.

The video quality is crisp and clear.

I don't have the chance to try out the voice command yet as if not mistaken have to be in Mandarin. Will test later when have time.

blurjoey, you review so many dashcams. How do you remove those stick-on mount cleanly without affecting the car tint? Can you re-stick after removal?

Mijia dashcams come with an electrostatic film which you stick on the windscreen then stick the dashcam on top of it. You just need to remove the electrostatic film to remove the dashcam without affecting the tint.

You can also get a small piece of tint from tint shop or those clear road tax sticker to use if don't have electrostatic film.

I also use clear acrylic mounting tape which can be removed easily and cleanly. There is also black acrylic mounting tape if you want it black. It's better than those foam mounting tape which is hard to remove cleanly.

oh ya, the demo/promo video doesn't make this clear, but do you have to always manually activate (voice or button) the camera for it to record?
(say, cold/fresh starting your vehicle and going to work, it does not record until you tell it to)

would be a total retarded hassle if so.

Nowadays all modern dashcam auto starts recording when you start your engine laugh.gif

And it will stop recording when you stop your engine too in case you were wondering biggrin.gif

That's the emergency recording feature. Means the loop file will be kept in a separate folder that doesn't overwrite when full.

All dashcam have a button to press to do that. 70 mai uses voice command instead of a button

You stick the electrostatic film on the windscreen then stick the dashcam on it so you won't spoil your tint.

Read my blog, there is a link on where to buy.

Liked the mini size but feel like the image is much darker at night compared to the previous version. Have you compared it to the previous version?

Same design as the DDPai mini but a bit slimmer...

This is the only version of 70mai dashcam wor... I don't see a previous version of it...

Did you mean the Mijia dashcam? This 70mai dashcam is lower range than the Mijia dashcam.

Wow very useful information, I've been worried how i need to stick the dashcam to windshield after i ran out of those electrostatic film....laugh.gif

Btw for me i think this 70Mai dashcam suits better for rear cam, because of it's size and low viewing angle + very budget!

Hi...
How is this compare with Mijia Dashcam? Other than just the screen. Shouldn't be hassle to view the on phone for video.

This is smaller a lot compare with Mijia Dashcam.

I think the 70mai is more of a budget dashcam if compared to Mijia dashcam which is a level higher up.

Anyway, both from same company 70mai.

I see... price wise Mijia dashcam still fine, just feel that 70mai is smaller not so noticeable if compare.
Bet the video quality should be not much different.

Should be able to reach the front center console. Unless you're driving a big car like an SUV then too short.

No, it won't. But the heat will reduce the lifespan of the battery faster. But long term in the sun & heat will cause the battery can't charge anymore, will get bloated, leaking or maybe explodes.

My personal review on 70mai:

The quality not so good as expected especially during night recording.. Barely read the car number plate....

I feel mijia quality is slightly better than this.. But I like the voice command, works 8/10 times...

Nowadays all dashcam will turn when detect engine start. G sensor is to save the file into another folder to prevent deletion when the g sensor is triggered by an accident for an example.

If there are 2 units in 1 car; anyway for the apps to access both camera at same time or it will need to connect each camera adhocly?

I think you can add both cams to the app but can't view both together.

Even dual dashcam only able to view only 1 at a time.

Finally my package from Indiegogo arrived. I have mixed feedback about this dashcam compared to my Xiaoyi dashcam.
Pro:
+discreet design/stealth
+reusable electrostatic film
+voice recognition

Con:
-most of the time unable to recognize voice activation
-to make it worst, no manual button to record video (when voice activation failed)
-wifi PSK is limited to 8 characters
-delayed/lagged streaming from dashcam to phone app

No time to compare the image and video quality yet. This is the Global/English version that is recently launched. I have very high expectation for this dashcam, apparently my Xiaoyi with 2 years old back technology still perform better, except it's bulky design.

Hi bro @blurjoey
Just wondering, since there's a built-in battery inside, is it possible for it to continue record once power disconnected?

Also, the night video footage seems a little darker as compared to other brand... any setting to change it to brighter or something?

Dashcam is designed to start recording when there is power (engine start) and stop recording when there is no power.

Batteries in dashcam are meant to 1) safely save the last video file when off engine 2) retain all settings when the engine is off.

The batteries are so small capacity that it can only record less than 10 minutes.

The dark video is due to firmware as there is no option to brighten up the video in settings. Maybe new firmware version might fix this.

Thanks for the information.
Any idea how soon will the new firmware arrived?
Also... do you recommend buying it if I park my car under the hot sun most of the time? Understand that this will eventually reduce the lifespan of the camera, but how short/long it can last? Roughy.... hmm.gif

Depends on Mijia when they will release new fixes.

Usually, I would recommend dashcam that uses capacitors instead of batteries if used in Malaysia.

Will depends. 1 year maybe or 2 years. The most common issue is the battery can't store a charge or get bloated or leaking or worst case explodes.

Thanks for the advise bro.
Any dashcam that using capacitors you can recommend? As far as I know Viofo A119v2 is quite good.

Also...
Let's say the battery of the dashcam died, I still can continue using it right I guess? (As long as it doesn't explode *touch wood*)

Viofo A119 Pro seems very promising at the moment.

Once the battery died, yes can continue to use but the date and time will be reset and settings default to factory settings.

I have used Xiaomi 70Mai dashcam and it is really great thing to have with you in order to take good and important pictures at any time. The charging capacity is also great and it is really easy to handle as well. What one can want more from a dashcam? Are you going to buy it?

Sometime it take picture by itself... not sure why as well. Don't know what it detected.
Anywhere I'm using the international version, so far no complain with it. Like it cause it small enough and still able to do the basic need as a dashcam.

Me too, liking it because of the design. Software still buggy (taking picture by itself, disabling wifi on it's own, and worst is it's not start the recording) and require major improvement.

I installed one in my wife's car which will auto record when ignition started. The other unit I installed in my car as rear cam (use yi cam at front). I setup and connect to 70mai app like my wife's cam. But every time I start the car, it always ask me to use my phone to connect and start the cam.Is there any other way to reset the cam besides poking the reset pin hole and in the app restore tab?

FYI, I tried extending the power supply cable with other cables so as to install it at the rear. The memory card in 70mai will failed and ask you to reformat it over and over again. The moment I removed the cables, it appears normal again. Not sure why.

Hi bro, when I playback the downloaded/transfered recorded video, it seems to be no sound (codec not supported or something) for both my phone and PC.
Any idea how to resolve this?

PS* I did switch on audio recording. File were downloaded through the 70mai apps to my phone.
And then I transfer from the phone to the PC.

Updates: If I took out the memory card and plug into my PC and directly copy, then there's sound. Weird lol.

for those interested in rear camera, i did a video overlaying front and rear together, high speed run during night time:

very poor quality, however do remember it is a rather cheap dashcam and i think it is still acceptable.

installed the 70Mai earlier today afternoon and thankfully, a thunderstorm came a while ago, allowing me to make a recording of a scene of worst possible condition.

at the end of the day, don't expect it to be a CSI quality camera. it's just a general video recorder for security purposes to prevent false/assist genuine insurance claim and also for safety purpose (in the event of road bullies).

This is the best conditions to show off the camera video quality. One of my favourite conditions to test out dashcams for my reviews.

As long as the video quality is good and clear.

>2.1 megapickle sensor which should give 1080p without oversampling

The DDPai Mini maybe but it's older than the 70mai.

Mini2 and Mini3 is more expensive and specs wise is higher than 70mai as 70mai is more of a budget dashcam.

If really want a budget dashcam that is better than 70mai, look at BlueSkySea B1W.

Yi King Edition then Mijia dashcam then 70mai.

Yi dashcam is out since it's more than 2 years old model.

After using for half a year, suddenly on off the dashcam tells me memory card failure. This is after I have changed the very first card. I don't think it is my memory card problem.

At the same time, I can no longer login with default password 12345678. I have not change this but both problems giving me headache.

What micro SD are you using?

Are you able to read and write into the micro SD using a computer?

Are you able to reset the 70mai back to factory default?

First card, new, Sandisk class 10.
Second card, new, Samsung class 10.

Yes, I have tried your suggestion and I am able to access the memory card with a pc. Deleted everything inside. Copy paste a file inside. Don't seem to have any issues. Looking at the videos, it reminds me that this dashcam takes emergency videos stored in a separate folder when I go through roads with many smaller bumps. Anyway, I guess that is just the sensitivity of the dashcam.

As for the reset, I poke the reset button and the green light goes off without any noise. It never comes back on until I on it again myself. Don't think I managed to reset. To double confirm, I use my phone and try to login with 12345678, and it fails.

Thanks for the help.

All cards will void the warranty when used in dashcam or IP cams.

Only those which advertise for dashcams and IP cams like High Endurance series are not cheap.

Cause using in dashcam and IP cams will write continuously (record) into the card non-stop. This causes the microSD to die prematurely. Smaller capacity cards will die faster as have to overwrite more than bigger capacity cards.

Yes it will continue to record until your powerbank is fully depleted.

But do take note that powerbank in cars might explode due to heat if you decide to use it in our hot weather.

Ty advice. Will camera explode? My car didnt have any tinted. Worry about it. Nowsday so hot.

No tint = extreme heat test laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I guess the battery will get spoilt faster. Exploding maybe lesser chance.

i don't want to say that yi dashcam is superior than 70mai dashcam. it's just that 70mai is really turned me down, especially in the event that i really need it to perform video recording. voice activation failed most of the time, and there is no physical button to overwrite or perform the recording. with yi dashcam, i can manually record the video on demand without fail, just that i need to reach for the button.

back to your question, as long as it preloaded/flashed with english firmware should be fine. my set was a chinese set but flashed with english firmware.

Just got my 1st dashcam and it's the 70mai. I'm surprised with its build quality. Really good for its price and it even comes with a car charger which has good built and look too.

But it seems that my Huawei P20 can't play the audio from the video, it says error playing audio. Anyone with similar issue? And from the phone app, does the cam record only for 1 minute. It seems the video folder in the app, all videos are 1 min duration only and are cut throughout the driving?

It's missing the codecs. Install VLC Player on your P20.

It's 1-minute files to prevent file corruption in case of failure.

Yes it does. But sometimes you need to trigger 'manual/emergency recording' so that particular event will not be overwritten or to ease you to find that recording moment.

Can the Chinese version be converted to the English version? Actually the Chinese and English version are the same isn't it? The difference is only in the language. On the smartphone in the Settings, we can set the phone to display English, Chinese, Malay or other languages. So between the Chinese and English version of this dash cam, the Chinese version is displaying Chinese language only with no settings to change the language to English, and the English version is displaying in English language.

Is my understanding correct?

If yes, then those who can read Chinese will be at an advantage whereby he/she can use the Chinese version without converting it to English (if that is possible, which is the question I am asking here). The reason is the Chinese version is considerably cheaper than the English version when I checked the prices on Lazada.

The Chinese version is selling at RM125 here
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/2018-new....68751b5a7IEkxN

The English version is selling at a higher price of RM169 here
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/i4204706...lFlag=true&mp=1

THough there is a 16GB microSD card that is included with the English version, so minus the cost of the microSD card, the English version is about RM150 which is still costlier than the Chinese version (RM125)

Any thoughts if the English version is the must-buy for those who cannot read Chinese? Unless the Chinese version cannot be converted to English.

International version is always more expensive.

I think maybe can convert to English if can get hold of the international firmware and flash into the Chinese 70Mai Pro.

Thanks for the information. The reason I am asking is because I read some comments from those who had bought the Chinese version as follows:-

1)
by Lazada CustomerVerified Purchase
my 2nd unit. purchase from this seller
I update to english version less than 5 minutes. Refer to youtube

2)

by Lazada CustomerVerified Purchase
This is my second day of using this cam. The pros of this cam are:
1)Good wide angle view range which can cover a decent 3-lane road of same direction traffic flow.
2)The resolution of 1080p and its exposure setting is good enough to capture the necessary details at night time (can see plate number at near distance)
3)Superb convenient hands-free voice commands in Chinese for taking picture, emergency video (so that it will be not over-written) and etc., even for an English speaker whose Chinese pronunciation is bad, the Chinese voice command is recognizable.
4)Can directly download stored video to your phone via WiFi in case you need to keep it as evidence. No need to take out the SD card.
5)When the power source is off while taking emergency video, it will not stop the shooting immediately until it is sufficiently taken for 30 seconds.

It still has its cons. But to me is bearable when considering its price worth:
1) It comes with Chinese voice speaking. So I flashed the English firmware into the cam (you can find its tutorial in Youtube). The cam still requires Chinese voice commands to execute the operation even it speaks English after I flashed it. No matter how fluent the English voice command is spoken, the cam does not respond to it.
2) This cam's design is dedicated for cars with left wheel driving (Eg: China, USA). Since the cam is placed at the middle of the windscreen, I can't view the status indicator light as it is at the left side of the cam. Even if I flipped the cam to other side so that the indicator facing right side, the camera lens is still facing inward due to its restricted allowable rotating angle.
3) No display, need to use the app when adjusting the angle of the lens.

Last but not least, I like this seller because it's offered 3 months warranty (when I made the purchase) and I got the cam earlier than the estimated date (to East Malaysia).

So I just thought if it is true that the Chinese version can be converted to run in English language, then why bother buying the English version which is costlier? But before that, will need some confirmation on this and check on how difficult it is to convert from Chinese to English. If the conversion is a child's play without cracking your head too much, then might as well get the Chinese version.

Actually, in the Youtube video is using a modified firmware by someone. He only managed to translate the menu into English. The voice part he can't do much about it.

Need the official English firmware if can get hold of.

Most dashcams is all for left hand drive cars as most manufacturer is in China, Korea and Taiwan. All left hand drive countries.

Thanks for the response. Menu in English to me is most important as I read that the voice recognition is still in Chinese, even with the English version. I haven't watched the Youtube video yet. Is it easy to convert the Chinese version to English version from the Youtube video?

Yes, I am aware that most of the dashcams are designed for left hand drive countries, but I am not sure how does it affect cars which are right hand drive though.

To cut a story short, for someone who does not understand Chinese, do you recommend to buy the English(international) version instead of the Chinese version converted to English with the modified firmware?

Thanks.

I can't read Chinese and can speak very little mandarin. But I willing to try it out.

So it depends on you if you're comfortable with doing something you're not used or not like getting the chinese version. If not then get the english version.

Hi there, I've tested both the 70mai English version and 70 mai Pro Chinese version.
IMO if you only change the interface to English you will lose the navigation voice command such as Take Picture and Record Video which as tested the English slang is well accepted by the dashcam. I bought the English version from Lazada for RM 149 with free delivery and the English version got 128Mb flash which is higher than Chinese version. Plus the apps is in English.

Hi, thanks for the information. Your post has further helped my decision to go with the English version because after I studied further yesterday, it appears that everything from the language in menu to voice recognition or control works in English. Unlike the Chinese version converted or flashed to English by some software(tutorial said to be on Youtube), although the language in the menu is converted to English, the voice recognition or control is still in Chinese.

Can you let me know where did you buy the English version for RM149? The cheapest i can find is 169 and it comes with 16GB microSD card only. I guess it is a typo in your post. 128GB instead of 128MB.

Thanks for the information. Just checked the listing on Shopee and there is a seller selling the English version. However, when choosing the variation, the English version seems to be out of stock. Only Chinese version can be selected in the variation type and the English version cannot be selected, likely because it is out of stock. Have sent a message to the seller but no response yet.

A rear cam is good to have if can. It's is like getting medical insurance. Usually you won't use it until something happens then you need the coverage.

The 70mai is small enough for the rear windscreen.

if taking into account overall cost and getting good quality video, is there anything more efficient than 2x 70mai (in front and rear)? I believe we dont really need "sync'ed" video or even reverse cam, those are serving other functions right?

Hi guys. I finally got the 70mai dash cam. However I encounter one issue. The ciggie port in my car is working perfectly when I use the original ciggie pusher where u can really light up a ciggie.

But when I use the pusher provided by the 70mai package, it doesn't work.. anyone having the same issue ? Or any solution? Right now I need to connect to the usb which I normally use for phone charging and is quite troublesome to keep on swapping

Non-stop sound of firecrackers disrupting my sleep so i thought of typing this.

Finally, got myself an English version from Shopee. Will only install it this weekend and hopefully I can do it without much difficulty. The box is pretty impressive too as it looks nice and premium despite the low price.

I was just wondering if a car charger with dual USB inputs can be used with the 70mai instead of using the stock car power plug that came with the box so that the 2nd USB input can be used to charge a phone. Any experience?

Sorry for asking this simple question. Does the user need to install the dash cam on the car and power it up first before the user can sign up on the 70mai app? I tried to sign up using the 70mai app but cannot seem to sign up as I am not sure where to get the security code.

Finally i managed to install the dash cam on the car and signed in with the app.

Just a couple of questions.

1. In the user manual, unplugging the cable from the cigarette charger is recommended so that the car battery is not drained even though the dash cam may consume very low power. Do you guys unplug the cable from the charger when leaving the car every time?

2. I am not sure if the dash cam can be removed from the bracket as i haven't tried. If it is possible, do you guys remove the dash cam and keep it in the glove box(compartment in front of the passenger seat)? A friend always remove the dash cam when leaving the car every time to prevent potential theft of the unit when the car is parked at a secluded place unattended.

I don't think anyone will remove and put back the dashcam every time they get into or out of their car. Waste of time.

Theft is actually depends as some dashcam is discreet design while some aren't.

Can but need to unscrew the hand screw.

Anyway, that is correct to save the battery as it's not good in our hot weather.

Ok thanks for the information.

Last question is do you have any problems using a 4 port USB charger which goes into the cigarette lighter especially if there are other devices connected to it. The original single charger was recommended but I find it to be rather low quality as it is more difficult to push into the cigarette lighter port of the car. The connection is very stiff as it won't go in even if you push hard, and it suddenly goes in quickly after much force is used. Unlike my other Golf charger, you don't need to use so much energy to push it in, and it slides in uniformly rather than suddenly.

My concern with a multiple input charger adapter with the dash cam is the voltage and amp rating of the unit. Some unit output 1A while some at 1.5A or 2.0A and higher at 5V. I'm afraid of it falls lower than the original spec of the unit (input 1.5A at 5V) the power is less and may become unstable which subsequently causes malfunction of the unit.

By the way, it is very difficult to install the electrostatic sticker on the windscreen of the car without seeing any bubbles on it. I have some bubbles on the sticker after installation but i guess it won't do any harm? It just looked a little imperfect but since it doesn't affect the video of the dash cam i presume it is fine.

Also, it is tricky to stick the dash cam on the windscreen of the car to ensure the unit is horizontal. I was looking at the video camera on the mobile phone app while putting the dash cam on the windscreen to ensure that the video is in the middle and not tilted or skewed to an angle. The video looks ok when the unit was installed/stuck on the windscreen of the car but the dash cam didn't look a perfect horizontal but slightly inclined (right side of the dash cam is lower or higher than the left side). However the video doesn't really look inclined like the unit. I will have to test it out for few days to make sure the video isn't tilted but a perfect horizontal later.

I'm using an Aukey 4 ports car charger. 1 is QC port to charge my S9+ and the other 3 ports is for charging other phones and 1 for my review dashcams. Not issues here even with 3 dashcams to the 3 usb ports.

Surprisingly I find my Golf car charger to charge the phone much quicker than my Aukey wall charger , which is weird. I need to find a better wall charger I guess. Have a look at this thread below.

Guys, a question. When you start your car, the dashcam will start recording into the sd card rite? What's the difference with the start record voice command?

All dashcam works that way. Start engine will start recording video.

That voice command is to start and stop recording manually.

Since the LED indicator is facing passenger side, does the dashcam have voice notification if something is wrong (eg, sd card failure) ?

Thanks. Another thing, can I change the size of the space used for the recording? Currently, it's just allocate a small amount of space for the normal recording. Im using 16gb card.

Hardwire kit. It's to plug the dashcam to your car fusebox usually underneath your steering wheel.

To provide power when start engine. Also parking mode if using the 3 wires hardwire kit and if the dashcam have parking mode feature.

70Mai Pro have the parking mode with or without the GPS module.

The GPS module is more for the ADAS function when driving.

Also the 70Mai Pro parking mode only records when an impact is detected.

Usually this will void warranty d... Just get the English version if can...

If you don't mind no warranty then flash the English firmware...

But I'm not sure what features is not working if do that. Try and see.

Hi guys,

Just bought one international version a few days ago. A quick question, has anyone encountered the device starting up but does not mention about start recording? Just a few days of using it and i kept encountering this every 3/4 times when i start my car engine. Most of the time, it will turn on with a sound and mentioned start recording.

When it does start up (the sound of turning on), it doesn’t have any lights blinking and no matter how much i press the key power it does not respond and i cant connect via wifi to the dashcam. Also, when i off my engine it doesnt have the off sound. Upon the next start up, everything will return to normal but the cam does mention smtg bout time and date.

No, it won't. But the heat will reduce the lifespan of the battery faster. But long term in the sun & heat will cause the battery can't charge anymore, will get bloated, leaking or maybe explodes.
Global version only can get through kickstarter I think.

The most common issue is the battery can't charge any more follow by bloated then leaking or worst case explodes.

Mostly will happen after 1 year of usage but also will depends on your luck also.

China dashcams, only Viofo A129 Duo have a somewhat working parking mode. Works the same as Blackvue when no impact for some time will turn on parking mode.

Thinkware have the best parking mode.

All the above is capacitor dashcams.

Yes.

Using 3M sticker tape. Not advised using suction cup as the adhesiveness will wear out faster

I assure you this is not a carpark. I am at KLIA turning after the klia2 flyover going towards klia 1

The photo was taken inside the carpark reviewing the footage which is supposed to show the speed.

Can check if the 70mai Pro came loose from the GPS mount? Can re-mount it again and test again?

Yes I did take out and put it back from its mount. Also the parking sensor works so means the GPS mount is connected properly because on the 70mai no parking sensor if no GPS module.
I have contacted the seller to maybe trouble shoot the GPS module.

Is to record emergency video. So that it will be saved in the folder that prevents from overwritten when the MicroSD card gets full.

1s is the new upgraded model of the non-1s.

1s using newer Sony Starvis IMX307 image sensor. Non-1s is using the older Sony Exmor IMX323 image sensor. That's what I can see from the specs.

I just stick mine to my car. One mistake .... I stick the sticker exactly middle of the windscreen. Now the camera more toward left side. Looks like driver side won't cover much than passenger side due to the camera is at the left not the middle of the body sticker. Facepalm

As long as the USB car charger can support the 2 together should be fine.

You can try searching in Lazada or Shopee for a 5m long micro USB cable. I'm using a long cable from UGreen. for my reviews.

Sandisk Ultra is known to fail very fast if used in dashcams or Home cams.

If you cannot save anything into the Sandisk Ultra but can read only means the Sandisk Ultra is dying.

I have been using 70mai Pro on the front windscreen of my 2 cars, really nice dashcam with parking surveillance and the ADAS works well.
Now I'm thinking of getting another unit for the rear view, is the cheaper 70mai 1s good enough and perform well for parking surveillance? Or it is better to get another unit of 70mai Pro?

According to 70mai website, 1s doesn't have parking surveillance mode.

Thanks for the info, I read some reviews and got the wrong info then.
So 70mai Pro is the only choice.

hi. i got the global 70mai 1s. The "Turn on wifi" voice command doesn't seem to work in this version? The "Take picture" and "Record video" voice commands are ok.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Not only 70mai app. iRoad, Blackvue (just fixed), Thinkware (also fixed), etc also got issues with iOS13.

Have to wait for them to update their app to support iOS13 only. Or hold off upgrading to iOS13 1st innocent.gif

The mount is stuck on the windscreen via double-sided tape. But you can take down the 70mai dashcams from the mounts.

70mai dashcam is a single cam only. There's no rear cam add on.

Best to look at dual dashcams instead if really want a dual dashcam.

Nothing about collect dashcams sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

But if you can, consider upgrading to a dual dashcam.

Getting another dashcam to use as the rear, you'll need to consider if got enough power source and the cable can reach the power source. Also to get another micro SD card.

mr blurjoey,

i am currently using this dashcam for almost 1year.
i face one problem which, the indication light is always red instead of green when i start my car

also, there are occasional message about my sd card problem etc etc, which i dont really understand what it is saying.

whereas my wife's one is still fine (we bought together)

i'm wondering is it my sd card corrupted?
or other issue?

kindly advice how should i access the root cause of problem for my dashcam

What micro SD card are you using? Is it Sandisk Ultra? If yes, then better get a new micro SD card as Sandisk Ultra is known to die very fast when used in dashcams.

Get the newer Sandisk Ultra A1 or Samsung Evo Plus.

depending on your car, if it has a rear-seat USB port then it's easier.
but truth is, even if you buy a front-rear (2-in-1) dashcam, you still need to pull cable all the way from front of car to the rear of the car... its the same in difficulty.

Dashcam. Webcams dont have microSD card slots.

Some dashcams are sensitive to the cards used.

Hi sifus,

I recently purchased the 1s from Shopee (english ver).
I encountering issue with the dashcam as I cannot get the voice command to work.

E.g. take picture and record video commands will not work no matter how I try. And it will randomly take picture or emergency video when I am driving (without me talking the command). This is quite frustrating.

I tried format the card, reset default factory setting also still the same. I feedback to seller and post the dashcam back. They check and send back. Still getting the same issue.

Currently they ask me to try using with powerbank ?? I am using the dash came with my dual port car charger. Is it due to that? Should I use the provided car charger from 70mai?

Hope for some feedback. Not sure is faulty unit from seller or my issue.
Thanks.

After connecting to the wifi of the 70mai, she cannot view the camera via her iphone.

Anything she did wrong?
Btw all instructions are in chinese. Is there a way to change to english?

Hi there,
My sister in law just bought this recently via shopee.
After connecting to the wifi of the 70mai, she cannot view the camera via her iphone.

Anything she did wrong?
Btw all instructions are in chinese. Is there a way to change to english?

Dear TS, what are your thoughts on the 70mai A400 series?

https://shopee.com.my/70mai-A400-Car-Record...5608.4681959917

Seems like a budget version and can capture up to 1440p. Initially wanted the 800 series cuz of the 4K footage but now getting pricer (RM500++).

Just wanted to ensure the dashcam is clear enough especially at night to capture car no. plate.

Thanks TS for your input in advance.

Tq brother! The front and rear package seems out of stock so i'll just be getting the front. Good to hear the recordings are good for a budget device thumbup.gif

I know for A500, the left button should stop the recording with one click

the live stream on the app is 1 second delay , and of poor quality. it says on the app if you want better quality need to download from the sd card

bought m300 and was disappointed with the live stream resolution

I bought A400 front and back camera, together with hardware kits, more than a month ago.

Things were working fine until today. First they asked me to connect to the charging cables, which I've never disconnected.

So I tried reconnecting the cables and the dashcam restarting every few seconds.

Does anyone encounter this issu?
