Guys is this dash cam can auto on when we away from the car? Cuz I saw the setting has the g sensor
*
Nowadays all dashcam will turn when detect engine start. G sensor is to save the file into another folder to prevent deletion when the g sensor is triggered by an accident for an example.

If there are 2 units in 1 car; anyway for the apps to access both camera at same time or it will need to connect each camera adhocly?
*
I think you can add both cams to the app but can't view both together.

Even dual dashcam only able to view only 1 at a time.

Hi bro @blurjoey
Just wondering, since there's a built-in battery inside, is it possible for it to continue record once power disconnected?

Also, the night video footage seems a little darker as compared to other brand... any setting to change it to brighter or something?
*
Dashcam is designed to start recording when there is power (engine start) and stop recording when there is no power.

Batteries in dashcam are meant to 1) safely save the last video file when off engine 2) retain all settings when the engine is off.

The batteries are so small capacity that it can only record less than 10 minutes.

The dark video is due to firmware as there is no option to brighten up the video in settings. Maybe new firmware version might fix this.

Thanks for the information.
Any idea how soon will the new firmware arrived?
Also... do you recommend buying it if I park my car under the hot sun most of the time? Understand that this will eventually reduce the lifespan of the camera, but how short/long it can last? Roughy.... hmm.gif
*
Depends on Mijia when they will release new fixes.

Usually, I would recommend dashcam that uses capacitors instead of batteries if used in Malaysia.

Will depends. 1 year maybe or 2 years. The most common issue is the battery can't store a charge or get bloated or leaking or worst case explodes.

Thanks for the advise bro.
Any dashcam that using capacitors you can recommend? As far as I know Viofo A119v2 is quite good.

Also...
Let's say the battery of the dashcam died, I still can continue using it right I guess? (As long as it doesn't explode *touch wood*)
*
Viofo A119 Pro seems very promising at the moment.

Once the battery died, yes can continue to use but the date and time will be reset and settings default to factory settings.

I have 2 units. One auto record when car started, the other always request activation by phone before recording. Anyone have any idea how to set it to auto record? Thanks.
*
Did you connect the rear cam to the 70mai app?

Hi bro, when I playback the downloaded/transfered recorded video, it seems to be no sound (codec not supported or something) for both my phone and PC.
Any idea how to resolve this?

PS* I did switch on audio recording. File were downloaded through the 70mai apps to my phone.
And then I transfer from the phone to the PC.

Updates: If I took out the memory card and plug into my PC and directly copy, then there's sound. Weird lol.
*
Install VLC or Klite codec pack on your Windows?

VLC or MX player on your phone.

Anyone compared this with Xiaoyi Black Edition ? How the overall performance like ?
*
Don't have the Yi black edition to compare with. 70mai is more for the budget minded.

Yi is using Yi DashCam app and this is using Mi Home app right in phone ?
*
Nope, this is using 70mai app. Only the Mijia dashcam is using the Mi Home app or the Mi dashcam app.

Yi have split with Xiaomi long time d.

installed the 70Mai earlier today afternoon and thankfully, a thunderstorm came a while ago, allowing me to make a recording of a scene of worst possible condition.

at the end of the day, don't expect it to be a CSI quality camera. it's just a general video recorder for security purposes to prevent false/assist genuine insurance claim and also for safety purpose (in the event of road bullies).
*
This is the best conditions to show off the camera video quality. One of my favourite conditions to test out dashcams for my reviews.

As long as the video quality is good and clear.

Umm If compare with ddpai Mini series, which one is closest to it or all Mini is better than this ? tongue.gif
*
The DDPai Mini maybe but it's older than the 70mai.

Mini2 and Mini3 is more expensive and specs wise is higher than 70mai as 70mai is more of a budget dashcam.

If really want a budget dashcam that is better than 70mai, look at BlueSkySea B1W.
