QUOTE(dikae @ Nov 29 2017, 11:01 AM) I did mine at macstudio and that guy screw up 2, only the 3rd try works... so I wont take the risk.. I think there's no best TG, but Hoda is definitely one of the good ones.. At least if they screwed up, they’ll take a new one and do it for you at no additional cost right? Machines KLCC did that for me when installing Hoda on my 8 Plus. The guy got it wrong the first time, then just went and took another one and did it.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Nov 29 2017, 11:27 AM) Yup... a lot of sellers prefer not to install because they are worried about the issue you mentioned. Couldnt blame them, they are at loss when they have to replace your expensive TG. That is why I prefer to only go to sellers which does installation. On the contrary I think they are making obscene margins on this kinda stuffs, so they can afford screwing up

QUOTE(lkoky @ Nov 29 2017, 01:34 PM) QUOTE(dikae @ Nov 29 2017, 01:37 PM) worst nightmare... QUOTE(sengkin95 @ Nov 29 2017, 01:38 PM) Anyone else here experiencing #linegate? We've seen this in the previous version of this thread. As long as the phones are being replaced by Apple, shouldn’t be a problem.

QUOTE(ftan @ Nov 29 2017, 12:58 PM) Haha. If I use SK II, I think cannot buy the X already (whatever leftover from my claims). Lol. Show sleepy face. Let me try again the next few mornings. No worries. Yeah, it is worth to renew the membership. Let me survey during the hols. I draw the line at Kiehls, ha ha ha... Maybe Face ID is friendlier to those who are morning people, wake up and their face shining bright already

In the meantime, the Ringgit has quietly strengthened a fair bit compared to the beginning of the year when it was at 4.4x. Or could it be just a false calm before another storm? While I don’t think Apple will revise it’s pricing officially till the exchange rate hits 3.7x or lower, it’s interesting nonetheless. Makes the US sim-free sets very tempting if you happen to be there.

QUOTE(louis198920 @ Nov 30 2017, 08:07 AM) 'good' display is very subjective actually.. iphone is able to display DCI-P3 (wide-gamut) colours when needed (app have to call the API), HDR when watching video (of course the video or app itself needs to be outputting that). The reason that it is not as 'vibrant' or 'come to life' is probably attributed to the sRGB profiles that all iphones to date have been using. probably they insisted with this colour profile is because of colour accuracy.. Agree. It's also up to individual taste. What is a nice display for me may not be nice for someone else.

Ladies and Gents, anyone of you on the 64GB iPhone X remember what's the usable storage out of the box?

QUOTE(nickywan123 @ Nov 30 2017, 11:58 AM) Usually by default it already takes up 4-8GB for the iOS itself. So it's safe to say around 56GB. Still thinking if it's worth to spend more money on 256GB lol. AWHHHHH If you can afford it and intend to keep the phone long term, then yes, worth to go 256GB as the average price per GB is lower.

I’ve never had to charge an iPhone on the go ever since I started using the Plus model iPhones - 6 Plus, 6S Plus, 7 Plus and 8 Plus. My routine has been to charge the phone around 9pm or so till full charge at about 11pm or so, then disconnect, sleep, head for work the next day with the phone usually still at 100% or 99% (if I leave for work later or get insane amount of WhatsApp messages while I’m asleep). Then I get home at about 7pm or 8pm, with about 30% or so battery remaining. No charging in between, no power banks. Hopefully if I do move to the X, that won’t change!

QUOTE(ftan @ Dec 1 2017, 06:45 AM) Getting the X then? Face ID still works in the mornings. I have to say it’s impressive. It’s so seamless. Still on the fence, but leaning more towards getting it. If the Ringgit continues to strengthen in the next few weeks then I’ll have an additional reason to do so Do you miss the Touch ID at all, or have you gotten used to Face ID?

QUOTE(dikae @ Nov 30 2017, 06:40 PM) I’m exactly like you 100% , coming from 7plus, the x battery beats it flat...on 7plus (even when i use early stage while the battery is still strong and new) I start off with 99-100% and by night 7-8pm i’d have about 30-40%, on the X, same usage and etc but I’m home at night with 60-70% (hope I won’t jinx it) Wow, that’s good to know Let me know in a few days if you really did jinx it, ha ha ha...

QUOTE(ftan @ Dec 1 2017, 09:32 AM) Don’t think apple will reduce the price fast enough. If yes, I also wanna buy another phone. I was hoping no one would ask. I didn’t even use Touch ID previously. I was curious about Face ID. So finding it works really well is great. No, Apple won’t reduce prices, but it’ll be cheaper when I’m in Singapore come this month end (3.03 today vs 3.12 two weeks ago). Also there’s a 1% cash back on overseas spend from my credit card, so let’s see

You don’t use Touch ID? Which means all the while you just use a pin lock or something? QUOTE(666devil @ Dec 1 2017, 11:04 AM) Now I say good riddance Touch ID is gone. Last time I always have issue to unlock if finger even slightly wet Yeah, water and sweat are the biggest enemy of Touch ID

QUOTE(yupio @ Dec 1 2017, 12:25 PM) What the...didn’t come in one day and the thread spanned another 10 pages already. I did not go for instalment and opted for full one time payment. For instalment, you need to pay additional RM21 administrative fee. Then depending on which credit card and instalment duration you pick, you get charged additional again. Example if you opt for Maybank Amex 24 months then you will be charged the earlier RM21 + RM90 so total RM111 additional for MBB AMEX 24 months zero interest instalment. I didn’t go for it but I think it’s worth it coz you have extended 1 year warranty from Senq and MBB AMEX gives you 5X treats points as well. Compared to Switch (charge you additional RM2xx for instalment) and Machines force you to buy their extended warranty for RM899, the Senq deal is the best out there. By the way the Senq extended warranty gives 1 to 1 replacement should they not able to repair it. Be warned though that it could take quite long for a warranty claim with SenQ during the second year. I experienced a close to 3 months wait before, ha ha. But that was years and years ago. Could be better now.

QUOTE(ftan @ Dec 1 2017, 04:12 PM) Yeah, never used TouchID. No security at all. I should but I didn’t. Rectifying it now with the X. Oh wow, really? No security? That’s brave! Hen I guess the X suits you just fine with Face ID QUOTE(yupio @ Dec 1 2017, 02:40 PM) Bro you really should go for the iPhone X. The Face ID is so seamless like it’s not there. I mean you don’t even realise it’s recognising your face after a while. I just double tap the screen and the screen lights up then I just swipe up to go to my home screen. Haven’t had any occurrence where it cannot recognise me. Never did use my passcode save for the one time I restart my phone after I finish restoring data from my iPhone 7 Plus. Arrgh, more poison, ha ha. I think I may eventually end up with the X, just not so soon. In no hurry, anyways

QUOTE(gomes. @ Dec 1 2017, 11:55 PM) 1. Any locations in KL/Selangor with walk-in stock for Iphone X? 2. If I buy online through apple.com iphone store, they say free shipping. But how will they ship to me? By Fedex or ? I think most places will have stocks for 64GB, what I hear is the 256GB ones are out of stock in some places.
