i hear few people say that charging your battery once a month can prolong battery life.

Can we use something like this to charge once in awhile?

Its true. Same goes with all Merc which they put the battery with a thick wall seperate the heat to the battery.

Most Japanese design put battery next to the engine.

Plus why conti car battery so expensive. At least 700 it's because it's a bigger longer and better battery.

If design like BMW put at the boot. It will last ages. But to change one I think about 1.8k but it will last 5 to 7 years.

Btw. For normal Japanese engine. 2 years is good already
*
Wrong.

my current udm & ex W124 all using DIN66 cost me around RM280++ only lah. if gatal want to use DIN100 only around rm500++

can't remember when was the last time I changed em. 2013/2012 maybe?

Japanese car owner. Can't blame him. He hear say. So he won't jump in.

Anyhow those who owns one and experience it will know the truth.

Btw. Japanese cars are treated as transport not for driving pleasure. Unfortunately.
*
I owned both . if u lazy / don't have capability to maintain it pls don't own any car

more or less the same when it comes to maintenance.

btw jap cars are ok if you need to drive from point A to B.

spirited driving? udm anytime

It doesn't matter what brand,  refillable or not, cheap or expensive, all cannot last more than 3 years, changed so many times, what is causing the car battery die so fast?

u have no idea how much problems BMW have and u cant go to random workshop, only ppl whos so rich and have somebody taking care of your car will consider owning it.
*
again, wrong.

if u are lazy/clueless/lazy to read/financially not strong please stay away from conti.

better stick to public transport/uber/grab/obike. you won't have any headache thinking why the battery failed when u need to drive your car at critical moments.

Same

Factory supply last 8 years, recently changed to DIN100 Varta Blue. - Rear battery
My other car use Panasonic DIN66 price around RM500 last 4++ years. You can get cheaper Century at RM200++ but yeah last only 1 year. - Front battery

Mind both car above at stock condition. My peers driving same car with 'ah beng' mentality add boom boom pow aftermarket gadget (speaker, HID, door step with light etc) last half from my battery life span.
*
how was your driving pattern? any sound system installed?

that pana din66L is around RM300++ last two years. how come you buy so expensive one?

i m still using my yuasa wet battery on my current udm. more than 4-5 years already

500-800 for a decent Din100 battery still beats the rm2800 they charging at the authorized service centre. Just need someone to reset the charging when you changed your batt. I did mine myself with a Foxwell scanning tool. Good investment.

Lol am i reading this? Why not push the car to save battery.
The heat kill the battery la , those battery not in engine compartment will last long 4-7years.  One of my  previous car lasted 7 years and i never switched off AC and radio.

problem with these fellas who keeping hear rumors about this and that but missing the experiences of owning it and driving it.

2.5 years change battery at least rm200
3 years tukar tayar at least rm800 4 tayar
3 years major service at least rm600
3.5 years tukar absorber at least rm400 for all 4
3.5 years tukar brake pad at least rm250 for front
Need to renew road tax some more

What else

Got car realy pening one by one need to change

People should be educated on the total cost if ownership of a car. Not just know about monthly installment only.

Like that they become unaware and for example will use the botak tayar until can see threads the will potentially kill someone

1000% agree with you. It's a transport. But you want pleasure. Try BMW. I just love how it handles. Especially e90 325i.

My w203 just can't get that feel.

Sorry bro. Sounds like you just need a car to transport you. You don't really want a pleasure in driving. So best you stick with the Toyota. Less problem for you.

If you really want a beemer or a Merc. You don't care how many service center. You just want to drive. If it break down. You will sent it for repair. It's like having kids. But in a different way. Thats what you call i love my car.

Next time try a 330e in the showroom. Don't bother about the price just drive it. You will feel the difference. Unless a car to you must follow Toyota criteria. Then forget it.

If a true petrol head would own. He would own a Alfa Romeo. That's a true man's car. It's no joke.

True. Go Ingress just for normal service for the sake of official stamping at service booklet.

well lithium is not cheap and prone to failure as well.
what will happen if you bought a lithium battery for small car that cost more than rm1000 and you get yourself a lemon unit (fail less than 2 years, doubt manufacturer will give you long warranty),at least with lead acid battery, we know that it will lasts less than 2years (if got more than that consider bonus) but paid for it very cheap
*
Not prone to failure. Prone to FIRE. That is why there is no such battery for combustion cars yet. But there are for motorcycles. But a basic kapchai unit cost more than RM300.
