Its true. Same goes with all Merc which they put the battery with a thick wall seperate the heat to the battery.

Most Japanese design put battery next to the engine.

Plus why conti car battery so expensive. At least 700 it's because it's a bigger longer and better battery.

If design like BMW put at the boot. It will last ages. But to change one I think about 1.8k but it will last 5 to 7 years.

Btw. For normal Japanese engine. 2 years is good already

My other car use Panasonic DIN66 price around RM500 last 4++ years. You can get cheaper Century at RM200++ but yeah last only 1 year. - Front battery

Mind both car above at stock condition. My peers driving same car with 'ah beng' mentality add boom boom pow aftermarket gadget (speaker, HID, door step with light etc) last half from my battery life span.

500-800 for a decent Din100 battery still beats the rm2800 they charging at the authorized service centre. Just need someone to reset the charging when you changed your batt. I did mine myself with a Foxwell scanning tool. Good investment.

The heat kill the battery la , those battery not in engine compartment will last long 4-7years.  One of my  previous car lasted 7 years and i never switched off AC and radio.

2.5 years change battery at least rm200
3 years tukar tayar at least rm800 4 tayar
3 years major service at least rm600
3.5 years tukar absorber at least rm400 for all 4
3.5 years tukar brake pad at least rm250 for front
Need to renew road tax some more
