1 last question... Any complain/ issue/ bouncy ride/ uncomfortable ride/etc with serena premium?
Thanks.
*
talking about complain, most of the owners said the window is too big laugh.gif hence everyone will send outside to tint slightly darker or add groovy sunshade

btw, premium spec is comes with vkool security tint

Normally for mpv, it's more stable with full loaded right? When travelling at Highway around 110kmph or higher?
*
logically is correct, fully loaded is more stable. But cornering u dont floor ur pedal la biggrin.gif

usually i go on 110/115..or max 120, have my kids around, so i dont speed over than that

I am OK with window size. Read previous comments, some said the tint is nt good.. Still can feel the heat, etc..
*
tint is fine. the thing is the colour of tint..because its transparent, so u will feel like not tinted at all laugh.gif

usually we install at 3rd party, the tint got a bit of yellow-ish/black/blue-ish. but vkool one is transparent type.

ya, i can feel the heat, I'll just try to park under shade. Or you can send outside to put one more layer of black tint. But some owners said will void vkool warranty hmm.gif

Could've gotten my car this week but the SA delayed in banking in my cheque, delayed in my loan application, delayed in submitting my order. Paid downpayment via cheque last Friday morning but until now, the money is still in my bank. That's 7 and a half days.

I guess have to wait next week.
*
this SA quite slow. Which showroom u book with?

sounds like this is common issue to serena ?
so are they change to another brand of absorber ?
*
haha, not common issue. nothing happen in C26, just C27.

still same absorber brand, just the earlier one has defect. So tcm is willing to change. those who spot any stain mark can schedule appt to change.

Can share more info on this leaking?
Isit something like oil stain mark on the absorber?
*
yup, stain mark. very hard to notice, so if u spot it, then take a photo

but afaik, not all units have this issue, just some have defect absorbers. anyway no issue to claim new absorber, tcm aware of this issue, owners welcome to change at sc thumbsup.gif

SA said can get car by end of the month.. For premium version..

Any advice things need to check/buy/etc?
Anyone know where to get mesh sun shade for serena?
Thanks.

welcome to the club thumbsup.gif

my checklist
- chassis no. is the same with ur manuals cover note
- check lamps, signal, high beam
- usb port working not
- any stone chip/dent around body
- ask SA teach u the dashcam operation
- check around view monitor is working or not
- ask SA teach how to play video to the roof monitor
- engine bay, any cover (penutup) already open and forget to close back
- fog lamp, see whether got gap or glass pecah
- aircond
- tyre repair kit at 3rd row is it there
- sliding door smooth or not
- leather seat, any colour different/defect

what to buy? suggestion only, depends ur budget
- coating
- tinting (add 1 more dark tint on ur vkool tint, but will void warranty)
- tpms (tyre pressure monitoring system)
- OBD lock (to auto lock the car when u drive; due to regulations & safety concerns, all cars no longer offer auto lock)
- mesh sun shade can get from Shoppee or google Groovy Sun Shade
- spare tire (this one very subjective, some just buy a spare tyre n put at 3rd row (abit dangerous when car crash); some will buy a tire bracket and install at the bottom of ur car (below 2nd row left seat, there is a dedicated place to put ur spare tire, but u need to get the bracket. u can ask SA to intro if he got 'kangtao')
- floor carpet
- light bulb (if u dont like the fog lamp drl yellow bulb, can buy white bulb to replace)
- add ur insurance cover on rear windscreen

thats all i can think of now biggrin.gif

QUOTE(lokgotz @ Apr 22 2019, 12:14 AM)
Got my car over the weekend. These are some of the things I found:

- Apparently Tan Choong doesn't fill in the details in the manual book and service booklet any more. The only place where the car details are pasted (Typed) is in warranty booklet. I have no idea when my first service is because it's not stated in the service booklet. I guess I'll have to call the SA again. Didn't check with him when we collected the car.

- The small compartment under the aircond controls is quite distracting when lighted up. At night especially. Day time it's fine.

- The camera screen on the meter cluster is not practical. I would very much prefer it to be displayed on the head unit.

- It takes a little getting used to when driving because you see SO MANY THINGS. Especially with the huge side windows. I guess this is a plus point but it definitely needs a little getting used.

- It's a tad under powered. Then again, I drive a much higher powered sedan (2.8l engine) and my wife drove the T30 X-Trail (2.5) so it's not a fair comparison. I guess we'll have to get used to it.

- Android Auto works but I'm not too sure if it's my phone's problem or the V-Kool tint's problem. I can't seem to lock my location down on Waze. Couldn't check when it's not on Android Auto because I was driving.

My previous experience with V-Kool tint was that when my phone is in my car, it can barely get mobile signals. GPS signal is basically non-existent. I had to wind down my window so that I can get GPS signal.

This happened to my own car with all my phones over the years (I've been driving the same car for 9 years now) and all the GPS devices. Smart Tag can barely detect. It will first show "Tiada TAG" for 1 second, then only it detects.
The problem went away when I replaced my windscreen and didn't use V-Kool. So I'm not too sure if this is the same problem or not. Will have to find out more.

Other than this, I'm happy with the car.
*
Hi, bro.

1. first service is 1,000km.

2. i put smart tag inside

3. designed to let u focus at the front. hehe, but understand its quite small to see

4. a feeling of suddenly u expose urself to the outside. slowly will get used to it. Or u can consider to get a groovy sunshades for ur side window

5. yup, if compare to 2.8 and 2.5, serena memang abit underpower. But its enough for city drive or long distance drive. If u want more power, turn off eco mode will slightly improve

6. try to use another android phone. if issue persists, maybe vkool tinting. but so far mine is fine, ios and android

7. i kena once with my smart tag. but my earlier car is a sedan, the windscreen angle is over slanting

Tried Android Auto again. It just doesn't lock my position on Waze. It locks for 1 minute then stopped working and will only give me an approximate location every 3 minutes or so.

Waze worked fine on my phone. Not sure what's happening.

EDIT:
It seems it's a common problem for Xiaomi/Mi phones, which is what I'm using. Found a solution here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-au...cation-t3677377

Will try it out later.

EDIT 2:

Yeah. It's the battery optimization feature. Setting to "No Restriction" seems to have solved it. Works perfect now. It may not be a MIUI issue. Most smartphones have some sort of battery optimization feature. Just have to turn it off for Android Auto and Waze.

Solution:
Go to Settings>Battery & Performance>Under Battery Saver, select Choose apps. Then navigate to Android Auto, select "No restrictions". Do the same for Waze as well and it should work.

thanks! i can try with my redmi liao biggrin.gif

Hi all, I am new here, just got my Serena s hybrid j impul yesterday, driven from penang to kl, the following I noted and some questions :

1. The smell from outside will come into the car even I close the outside air. Can this be fixed?

2. My fc is 10.5 km / liter, can't get what the manufacturer claimed 14.2km / liter.

3. Road and wind noise are quite loud. Possible to do further soundproofing?

4. No audio control in the steering, wonder if I can have it install anywhere without affecting warranty?

5. Can the foot sensing auto boot be installed without affecting warranty?

6. Possible to install curtains like estima?
*
welcome to the club.. rclxms.gif

1. hmm, have a check on ur aircond button. whether the ventilation button is accidentally toggle off

2. this is quite subjective, based on whether ur heavy foot or etc. We have members achieve more than manufacturer's fc.

3. remove door visor. And yes, u can do soundproof at 3rd party

4. plug n play no affect warranty.

5. yes, but need to check whether comply to JPJ.

hope it helps.

Hi all C27 owners, I am actually looking for a 7 seater MPV, where budget around 140k, and only found that brand new Serena and recond Honda Odssey fits my bill, of cause, an old used Alphard or Estima fits the bill as well.

I have quite a bad experience with Nissan Almera, whereby certain parts are damage within short used time, for e.g. wheel bearing, air cond cooling coil, Front lower arm bush damage, etc....Therefore, just want to get some comments from you guys so far any problem/ issues facing with the car before I decided to go for another Nissan car.

Thanks!!

ur almera bought in which year? the very 1st gen? hmm.gif

Anyone got a good recommendation for the car share?
Too many types in lazada /shoppe which cost around rm300..

Not goin to double tint since alrdy hv Vkool preinstalled.
Just need some shade to reduce the sun light glare for the kids.
