QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Nov 24 2017, 06:05 AM) Until online radio using high quality/bitrate aac or opus for transmit, then FM might be better than online radio. This also happen to Digital TV... https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1921291/+3780 And I guess the main point for radio is, no need worry for the internet down time. But anyways, getting a old smartphone(can use FM or online) playing it on a speaker also works, if you ignore all the quality issues. |

QUOTE(limtenggen @ Nov 24 2017, 03:15 PM) http://www.lazada.com.my/tp-link-tl-wn822n...1507294&sc=GWgE Now shopee is discounting la. is this good ? laptop wifi signal not so good here .... If you laptop got 5Ghz, then this one is better, plug in the lan cable then laptop connect via 5Ghz, or laptop connect this via 2.4/5Ghz also can. Before 10% voucher, RM114.75 https://shopee.com.my/TP-Link-AC750-WiFi-Re...15875.402047271 If you want bring around, and also 5Ghz support, then this(5Ghz is a must, nowadays every place is full of 2.4Ghz, if it is UniFi area, worst!!!) RM57.80 https://shopee.com.my/TP-Link-AC600-Mini-Wi...15875.402048881 But want better, with antenna, then this. RM80.75 https://shopee.com.my/TP-Link-AC600-High-Ga...15875.402048875 Other like high speed, I don't think you need that, but someone will like to using it for file sharing between phone, or using it for chromecast, or at Singapore with 1Gbps of speed etc, so I just post it then. ;P https://shopee.com.my/TP-Link-AC1200-Wirele...15875.402048936 https://shopee.com.my/TP-Link-AC1300-High-P...15875.402047320 |

QUOTE(shirohamada @ Nov 24 2017, 03:50 PM) if you have an old router, use that. If Unifi 50M, I recommend using it as client bridge, because the router normally support dual antenna(but not MU-MIMO), then it will provide 150Mbps to the Unifi route. set it up as repeater. installed ddwrt on my old unifi dlink and made it repeater bridge. QUOTE(FatalExe @ Nov 24 2017, 03:59 PM) DO NOT GET THE AC600 Nano adapter if your wifi is already bad for your laptop. It literally has shit signal and I am forced to use a USB Extension cable for it to have a measly 2 bar signal while my phone in the same position gets 3-4 bars. Yup, this. DO NOT GET Wifi Repeaters if you don't want your speed to get cut in half. DO GET Wifi adapters with external antenna. Or get yourself a taobao intel or any other network card, replace it to your laptop(need a bit modify), but this WILL NOT help if your laptop antenna is bad design. |

QUOTE(limtenggen @ Nov 24 2017, 05:45 PM) how about this Also near MMU, but I am at the place that having a stupid guy setting 40Mhz + max power + repeater + auto channel + Unifi 50M, all 2.4Ghz WiFi dead because of him.. https://shopee.com.my/TP-Link-300Mbps-2x5db...15875.402048905 speed doesn't matter for me cause the wifi speed at max will reach 4Mbps only i just need a strong signal WiFi receiver i know in terms of range 2.4ghz is far more superior than 5ghz but more interference /congestion ( but still i think i will more likely to pick up 2.4ghz signal rather than 5ghz signal ) ps/ i live near mmu melaka (just opposite side of mmu )  and i only use it when i am in my accommodation mobility is not a concern to me but i wish to avoid using power socket and prefer USB adapter ones isnt that more antena is better at receiving WiFi signal ? currently mu laptop wifi chipset is Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 And also light wall, so it really... Anyways, back to topic, >1 antenna=MIMO, but 2.4Ghz don't support MU-MIMO, so if someone that far than you drop the WiFi speed to 1Mbps, or a smartphone with broken driver(or their CPU too weak to respond in time), this 2 alone can kill the whole WiFi already. As I don't know how's your house like, maybe you are in ixora that having worst 2.4Ghz wifi interference or something. A better explanation about the design of house will be better. But I think that, by buying the extender that connect to the router via WiFi or LAN(if WiFi outside also unstable), then put it outside/inside of your room, done, and that's what I am doing sometimes. If it is because of interference, doing this with a dual band extender will helps, just remember put at least less than 2 wall or 1 wall between the laptop for 5Ghz. If it is because of the weak router or weak laptop antenna or both, doing this with a cheap and high gain 2.4Ghz extender that put outside/nearby your room/laptop will helps. To know it is laptop or router, simple, just create the hotspot(2.4Ghz one, please ensure it is not because interference first), connect with your smartphone, transfer file to your laptop via ftp or smb or whatever, observe the speed, done. I guess you already done this with your smartphone on your room for testing the router or?? PS:Even it is high gain laptop usb antenna, but it is dBi, no dBm mentions, so it is still unknown it is good or not... PS2: not a expert on this area. PS3: even if signal bar is low(at least 2 la), as long as it is less interference, then it should be ok for 4M... -----EDIT! I just remember one thing!! As you are using the Intel dual band one, as I know, there is a bug that causing it drop performance for 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz because of dual band support, try 2.4 Ghz only in the driver setting. And also turn off/remove all bluetooth, these can kill WiFi alone too. Try this too, even this is old, but it use windows own API to disable any background activity, might stop the bug. http://www.martin-majowski.de/ QUOTE(yyie @ Nov 24 2017, 05:48 PM) Yeah I agreed. Just remember, until 26-11-2017Plan to buy it after today only so that can earn extra cashback on credit card (statement cycle refresh) QUOTE(Davird @ Nov 24 2017, 06:12 PM) Shopee 1st Dec got extra 10% bank discount. QUOTE(limtenggen @ Nov 24 2017, 07:02 PM) 1.ok them ;P2.3. Try driver setup to 5Ghz only for WiFi@MMU? 4.Too many user, so... 5. If less user connect to the same router, then yes. If too much user connect+interference, then it will make you hard to connect to wifi, and disconnect you.(WiFi@MMU is the example) 6.Unknown, maybe you are unlucky that you get a broken one, better replace it if still got warranty, I saw a lot of laptop that having broken wifi and causing the whole wifi slow down even full bar signal, and exchange a new one is the only way... 7.No problem. Did your other wifi device(like your friend) also got issues for slow down??? If yes, then I am sadly to tell you that, you are currently facing interference from UTeM and also WiFi@MMU, and there is no solution unless you can change their settings. Because based on my testing on my house, by having a nearly close router broadcasting ch 1 and 6 or ch 6 and 11 will affect each other, unless it is ch 1 and 11, or you put it 20 cm within your device. Not just saying there are multiple ch 1 and 6 and 11, they are like butterfly effect, which causing them killing each other. But, you can try connect to the WiFi@MMU via 5 Ghz, that might solve the issues, because too less people using this band, and they set to full power for their WiFi, I also can receive them across the field. And also it is funny to found out they also lazy to configure the 5 Ghz, as they are using the same ch, lol. PS: Yes, Yes, and Yes. PS2: Maybe get yourself a mobile broadband/MiFi that connect with USB/LAN then? This post has been edited by BenYeeHua: Nov 24 2017, 07:31 PM |

QUOTE(Monster Hunter G @ Dec 1 2017, 01:24 PM) MIUI is merely an Android interface/OS skin basically a cosmetic GUI that is customize from the phone manufacturer or third-party modders with more often than not unique features from that specific manufacturer or device. An original non-customize interface/OS skin is called stock Android or vanilla Android, basically the interface/OS as originally envisioned by Google themselves without the modification. This. Marshmallow is a "nickname" to Android release 6 a.k.a. Android 6.0 a.k.a. Android M. Android version history For MIUI, they always provide update for most device for longer than 2 year, but it is better that, you purchase new one after 2 year la, because they like to stop upgrade the Android version and only the MIUI version. And if you really not low in budget, go up a bit for Redmi Note 4 with qualcomm 625, that's the good spec for battery life+good performance. |
