QUOTE(OKLY @ Nov 10 2017, 09:40 AM) Yes I am. Definitely can feel the difference, feeling is very close to actual glass on the phone (since it is claimed to use technology from Corning). It’s slim as well at near 0.2mm. Best of all the accurate and consistent installation when done at an Apple Store. QUOTE(limchee @ Nov 10 2017, 09:57 AM) i second that! Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah, I saw the installation video on a unit being done at the Apple Store and was impressed, too bad it’s not a full covered one. Reviews online have been mixed though, some claiming it’s too fragile and even cracks on its own very smooth surface perfect combination with my spigen ultra hybrid crystal clear, im quite confident that my phone will have sufficient protection hehe |

QUOTE(realitec @ Nov 10 2017, 08:26 AM) X is the best phone right now in the market. Once you go for Apple, you won't go back to Android. If budget allows, of course iPhone X definitely the choice. Even as a hardcore Apple user, I wouldn’t claim X to be the best phone in the market. There just isn’t any “best” phone in the market. There’s only the “best phone for you” in the market. Every phone is good, just depends on what the consumer is looking for |

QUOTE(PHI_1.618 @ Nov 10 2017, 10:57 AM) In fact that is my worry also. Will the slight missed alignment affect the front camera view and causing more failure in Face ID? Yeah, the other issue with a misaligned or cheapo full coverage tempered glass is that sometimes it messes up your phone’s proximity sensor, though I suspect it won’t be a problem with the X, seeing how obvious the notch is!You know, a slight miss alignment will affect the camera viewing angel a lot in relative to the distance |

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Nov 10 2017, 01:39 PM) Rhinoshield, Otterbox Symmetry (slimmer than Defender lol), Tech21, Lifeproof, Griffin, Pelican, etc. Love Otterbox, but it’s seriously heavy and bulky. I used to use the Otterbox Defender with my iPhone 4 and it really felt like a brick. A friend joked you could throw my phone at a dog and the dog would die of head injuries! |

QUOTE(OKLY @ Nov 10 2017, 01:41 PM) I believe it’s fragile due to it being only slightly thicker than 0.2mm. I remembered one manufacturer told me that tempered glass should be at least 0.3mm thick for it to provide decent protection against impact. Haha, yeah, exactly. The experience of having it installed at the Apple Store! Why I chose the Belkin ones sold in Apple Store is due to it claiming to use technology from Corning (so the feeling should be very similar to the naked glass on the phone) and I only want to protect from potential scratches. So a thinner glass protector should still fulfill my requirements. Lastly, it’s just to experience the installation process st the Apple Store. I’m currently using Honda 0.33mm full coverage on my 8 Plus and it’s very, very good. So that’s my other option. |

QUOTE(OKLY @ Nov 10 2017, 01:51 PM) Yea Hoda pretty common now that sellers are carrying these days, probably best value for money tempered glass at the moment. The other brand is X-One which I’ve never tried before but I think X-One is the film type of protector. Well, it’s not cheap. I paid RM90 for mine at machines, but it’s worth it.You’re right, X-One is a film type and I tried it on my ex-Note 8 and it was horrible though. It kept lifting and it became grainy after a couple of weeks. |

QUOTE(OKLY @ Nov 10 2017, 02:25 PM) In reality, Apple’s production supply is enough to fulfill the demand, only scalpers are making it difficult for genuine buyers who really want to own the iPhone X. Or the other conspiracy theory is Apple intentionally releases stocks in batches to create this shortage scenario |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Nov 10 2017, 09:29 PM) I know another forumer here sold off his ipX at a loss only after 3 days. He was simply dissapointed and felt all was hype! He is btw a phone trader too. Anyway he is all the while a pro Android guy. Pro Android guys should never, ever buy new iPhones at launch price. They are bound to be disappointed. |

QUOTE(fadzly @ Nov 10 2017, 09:30 PM) possible. ive regreted going to singapore for all this. the phone seems to be just like my previous other iphone. and its boring. the only different is OLED and face ID. and i will lose my JB which we rarely get a JB nowdays. Ive should just wait malaysian launch or else i will never feel like this. Once u got it, its already boring. the hype feeling will only last a few days. And i dont see many singaporean using Iphone X either. Unlike previous days where u sit on MRT, u saw person next to u, infront of u, everywhere are using the latest iphone. I think, this phone X is too expensive, even for a singaporean not to mentioned for us too. I will suggest everyone who planned to collect at Orchard or buying from scalpers/flippers to hold it for a while. Get the phone with a contract from our telco. In fact, 2 weeks is not that long either. Totally not worth a few hundred more just to get the phone. Unless if u bought it cheaper than the RRP. Ya, 5k outright for a phone is a bit expensive, I agree. |
