Hi, relatively new samsung pay user. I was thinking of compiling a list of stores that are samsung pay Friendly.
Of course this list may be huge as certain stores have difficulty in acceptance of this technology, depending on the cashier and which branch. But I'm getting bored with farming Jaya grocer, my news and McDs 😂.

Areas with Multiple Samsung Pay Merchants:

SS2 square: McDonalds, FamilyMart, Watson, Caring, Guardian, MyNews
- All merchants are familiar with SamsungPay so no problems with farming here. Lots of walking to increase your SHealth Level too

Majority of Shopping malls will have at least one MyNews and one Pharmacy

Of note:
Jaya Shopping Center
- MyNews, Jaya Grocer within the complex, McDonalds, Guardian, Watson, Caring outside. Another MyNews in Jaya33 (across the road)

Disclaimer: I prefer places where I can walk abit. Otherwise by the time I get the Gear S3, I might need to change to a bigger wrist strap.

I once tried Padini Outlet but they said they didn't have Paywave (In a way harder to convince them to use MST for Samsung Pay). And the cashier seemed quite reluctant to even try.

Petronas do accept, provided the cashier know how to do it. I've been rejected twice at their petrol station and accepted in others.

Not all Watsons accept SPay or even card at any amount. Mid Valley accept at any amount, Avenue K outright refused. Family Mart sometimes open only cash counters.

I tried in Metrojaya Brem Mall. On first floor, their cc machine has Samsung Pay logo. They said they forgot so I just told them just like normal cc. After they scan and select cc, just tap at mst.

However when I wanna pay at second floor, cashier die die reject. Saying no instruction from superior. The machine don't have Spay logo sticker.

Another place is mr dakgalbi publika. I said paywave and the said ok. Tap my phone and done.

anyone tried nandos? actually for shops that accept credit card but din put samsung pay, how you guys convince them that we can their use our phone to pay?

Just tried in Papparich. Accepted with no minimum amount. They even have the Samsung pay sticker now. Amazing.

It seem like Maybank cc machine have spay sticker.

Loud speaker die also say their machine no support.
But i can see got mst.

Cannot even try. They protect the machine with their life like safe vault.

Just tested on Sushi King, Jaya One.

All the time I just asks Pay Wave. Cause I think they don't know Samsung Pay but are more familiar with Pay Wave. If they said no, I won't insist further even if I suspect their machine can do it.

I encounter HLB terminal before, once the cashier gave me the machine ask me try, MST can work, just need sign in my case, rm30 purchase.

I tried with GSC, the terminal can support paywave. But they need to key in your credit card number on their system. So it's double work.

Which Cinema you went anyway?

Btw San Francisco Coffee also accept samsung pay (got sticker some more)

tried paying with cimb mastercard few times, failed

then change to citibank visa, approved on first tap

I encountered this at McD Sungai Dua last time.
Apparently, I guessed that the terminal is not configured properly.

I've used my SPay (MB Visa) at Family Mart, Intermark and their terminal keeps dialling between primary and then secondary lines and still nothing after few minutes. Ended up using cash

I think that could be their terminal or line problem. LOL

Sigh... was hoping to get another transaction today. I've 2 days to get 10... me still hunting areas around my work place with the lowest amount needed to spend.

Btw.... my friend tried at Sen Heng... they dun have a Pay Wave terminal.

I still got 13 to achieve. LOL

I agree this maybe a line problem.
In Sunway putra lowest floor, I get horrible maxis reception.
Most of the shops that I tried with paywave took ~1-2 mins to get through.
Not saying this is a maxis line issue but maybe a general connectivity issue.

I tried and checked whether Melur & Thyme, Pavilion has SPay... zlitch... they don't support Pay Wave.

Gear S3 sold out?
Major driving factor for using Samsung pay not available anymore.

I will probably only collect points for this month.
If Samsung doesn't allow us to redeem anything worthwhile by Christmas, I probably won't go out of my way to use it anymore.

Hong Kong Hotpot in Bangsar accepts Paywave. Maybank terminal.

Tried to use Wave at Yubiso Queensbay Mall.
But min amount of RM 50 required.

Ikea @ ikano power centre supports spay and also self checkout and spay together.

Update... I tried Spay with Nandos, Bukit Raja Klang and it works

Digi 1u doesn't accept spay

E-gate Sushi King also not accept spay .... cause they need to swipe ur card again at their own casher machine, which i said NO ....
u not suppose to let them write down ur CC number or swipe again in their terminal ..... cause is illegal ....

It's the merchant POS problem not the bank terminal or our phone!

It's illegal but Malaysia law enforcing is poor and if you don't let they will ask you to pay in cash.

You guys can do what I do on your card if you are afraid that they will swipe your card at the POS machine which is to take a magnet and keep rubbing the mag-stripe against the magnet to destroy the data contained on the stripe.

Also, it will not affect the chip in anyway. I also destroyed all the contactless function on my card by cutting on the copper wire inside the card.

Petronas nkve works great with Samsung pay integrated the system into their billing. Your card info appear on receipt.

What I noticed is that they will manually enter the card number, I like to give them a bit more work to do.

Tried to spay using mst method today.. it is asking for cvv2 number instead of pin number. It doesn't work with cvv number on physical card nor the last 4 digit on spay.

The machine is the same as mcd but didnt enable the wave function. Has any1 encountered this b4?

Was at Papparich, Citta Mall and they dun recognized SPay.

I tried SPay at Papparich Cittamall before and I managed to convince the Cashier to try, successfully.
Was it more of a personnel difference?

I probably guess the person was lazy to give it a try. Thanks for this info. I will give them a piece of my mind if they refuse the next round.

CIMB cash rebate (cancelled after they revise the shitty cash back, but they retain me with some one time cashback, now kee[ it for samsung pay)

I use Maybank FC Barcelona for most of my SPay purchases.. They give 2% Cash Back on anything..

Secondary card will be the Citibank Cash Back, for petrol purchases..

I used SC Mastercard a lot during the previous MasterCard Cash Back promo.. but now stop already..

What i meant was it is the bank policy to promote Visa or Mastercard to support Wave or Samsung Pay.
For Maybank, they don't support or promote both Wave or Samsung Pay in their Mastercard product line.
For CIMB, they don't support or promote Samsung in their Visa product line.
