Ok

But is it easy to disable the theme if you decided not to use it at a later time?

So far Googled around and most guides requires root to disable the applied theme? hmm.gif
*
Never tried to disable it before so I can't answer that. But u can just uninstall the applied theme from substratum manager. and since I'm rooted, I'm not sure what are the limitations imposed on the unrooted phones.

https://wccftech.com/galaxy-note-8-battery-...on-explanation/

"The phone will maintain more than 95 percent of battery capacity even after two years of use" - Samsung’s Koh Dong-jin

if after 2 years still 95% capacity I'm not worried because after 4 years i think it still maintains around 80% capacity

in 3-4 years times maybe will change to new phone
*
That's new. Thanks for sharing the info.

by the way... in order to use fast charging from the samsung charger

is the stock cable required?

or it also will work if i use reputable cable brands like remax or something? hmm.gif
*
oneplus type c and fonemax cables work for me. I'm using aukey and one China brand charger that supports qc 2.0, both also work for fast charging.

Check if your unit comes with Snapdragon or Exynoss procs. If SD, you won't be able to use Samsung Pay locally. Other than that nothing major. All the best Bro!
*
Samsung pay also wont work on Korean set, which uses exynos too.

wow ok then i guess remax type C will work as well nod.gif
*
you might want to find a cable with 2.4A rated. Usually with this current rating, fast charging is also supported imo

pdp (paid) -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...erpremium&hl=en
adhell (free) -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-fe/th...sabler-t3639733
video guide -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrNUMnRx9bM
do watch this video as a guide to set it up

requires package disabler pro (although in the video i noticed the xda guy using adhell, not sure if thats free)

since i bought PDP back in 2015, i just use it to disable bixby home (AFTER setting up, but as long as you follow the video and bxactions app guide when you launch it.. you should be fine)
*
How's the bixby remapping apps so far? Have you encountered any bug like pressing the button not working etc.

note 3? rooted since first week when I got it, haha. It stays in my storage box now.
no  cry.gif
The consignment note was lost and they found the parcel on Monday but haven't sent it until now, crazy. I urge them to send it by today. I will record an unboxing video on the spot, hopefully it's not an empty box.
I had nightmares for 2 nights LOL
Monday night I dreamt that I saw a hair dryer in the box when I open it, last night was empty box. mega_shok.gif
*
Gosh, thats some serious nightmare u got there. If I were I would have been pressing the tracking button like crazy now

Nope

Its like its Bixby is never there

Haha

Not even a pop up from Bixby from single tap or long press

The guide missed a step though

After you disabled Bixby home

After finish setting up bxactions

Need to enable Bixby home again (to remove long press Bixby voice pop up)
*
Nice. would consider to buy the apps since it provides tasker integration I heard.

QUOTE(mafioso @ Jan 17 2018, 02:19 PM)
yes but i think that one requires root

ANYWAY DO NOT buy the license from the in-app purchase... its RM11.99 sweat.gif

BUY from the play store instead (the pro version)... RM7.99

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...tions.pro&hl=en
when i saw the difference i straight away request for refund

i know its just RM4 but why need to charge differently in-app its RM9.99 (before you tap 10 days trial) and RM11.99 (after you tap 10 days trial)

BUT on google play store its RM7.99 only.. same freaking license! mad.gif
its not about the RM4, but its very misleading for users/consumers

i straight submit request to google that the price is different during in-app purchase and price displayed in google play store.. lol got my refund, then i purchase the pro version on play store instead
*
Many thanks for the heads up. Bought the pro version thru Google play. My phone is rooted though.

QUOTE(mafioso @ Jan 17 2018, 04:07 PM)
oh then ok lah since there's no spay feature supported

OTA not that important since you can always update through Odin

but since you are rooted

i'd recommend you to disable these (just rename them to .apk.bak using any root explorer)

1. Settings -> Developer Options -> Uncheck System Auto Update
2. Settings -> Software Update -> Uncheck "Check for updates automatically"
3. system/priv-app/FOTAAgent.apk
4. system/priv-app/SOAgent.apk
5. system/priv-app/SPDClient.apk
6. Reboot

this will completely disable your phone from checking for official OTAs as since you are rooted, you cant do OTA anyway

and 1 thing bad about samsung is that it will keep prompting you regularly although you swiped it away (which is kinda annoying)

but you can resolve that

OR if you want the easier way just purchase Package Disabler Pro and search for anything with "Update" and disable SOAgent/FOTAAgent/SPDClient
seems not the newest one to the club anymore laugh.gif
*
Thanks for the advice. I'm on custom ROM, not running stock. Therefore no trouble with OTA I believe. Will surely try your method if I want to revert back to stock tho

oh then nvm laugh.gif

if you are on rooted stock then gotta take note

if not samsung will just annoy the fck out of you to update

and they stubbornly download the OTA also despite you dont allow downloading the update

thats why they keep prompting you to update. haha

kena before so i had to reformat the phone and disable them

it was really too annoying back then on my note 5
*
icic. my current s6e+ is running on note5 Ketan Rom. it's on that Rom for a few months now without much issues. Stock rom on the other hand put my phone into deep sleep problem. clean install without root, turn on flight mod, through out 8 hours time span 50% depleted overnight.

now i just cant wait for CNY

gonna snap some good pics in my hometown nod.gif

been years since i went back, good timing to unleash this beast's camera laugh.gif

best part is my grandad's kampung is next to the seaside (like less than 1km away).. if im walking there..

hopefully can snap some nice sunset pics with the note 8 haha
yes. rooted stock does have problem because samsung deliberately make your phone unable to sleep after rooting

thats why people go with custom kernel to fix the issue

but last i heard supersu also fixes it.. version 2.7x or 2.8x onwards

not sure about note 8's
*
ah yes, but mine even before rooted already got problem. I think mine was lemon unit lol. saw on xda very few people had the same issue.

For rooting, you can try Magisk. I am currently using it on my S7 Edge with custom Rom. Works like a charm, easy and hassle free.
*
Ya, been using magisk since v13. Had to switch from supersu since chainfire declared that he will cease support for supersu soon.
