Having this gastric very serious recently, can feel the heartburn up until behind the chest. tried gaviscon but not effective at all.

If meds given by doctors don't help (charcoal, gaviscon, white syrup med forgot the name), I strongly advise to go see specialist for scoping.

I suffered for nearly 4 weeks with this. 3 doctor visits, all gave me similar advice:

1) Eat at the right hours; bfast at 7-8, lunch 12-1, dinner 7-8. No late dinner and no eating 4hrs before sleep.
2) No oily, spicy or fast food
3) Eat small portions but more times (this contradicted with advice 1)

I had wind, got hungry fast, stomach discomfort, bloated and when I ran it felt like I had a water balloon in me, it ruined my workouts.

4th visit, said I wanted to be referred to specialist.

Specialist (Columbia Asia Setapak) advised to do scoping to determine the cause. In the end, it was found and confirmed by lab analysis, H.Pylori bacteria infection. Google this bacteria. While it may be common among people in this region, different people react differently to it.

Some cases it is just discomfort, some rare cases it could develop to stomach cancer if left untreated for long. My case, no malignancy, just bacteria. Given 2 weeks antibiotic medication (take twice daily, MUST FINISH) and I'm all better. Next week going for final checkup with specialist for the all-clear.

Tldr; go see specialist, may be H.Pylori infection, longer left untreated, could get worse.

Having gastric problem myself, the best cure is to eat on time, never skip a meal.

Avoid too spicy and sour food.

It could be. But the root cause could be caused by something else. Maybe stomach ulcer, maybe bacteria, who knows.

When sleeping at night, I would wake up because of the discomfort and how I felt like something wanted to climb up my throat. It was the reflux.

After finishing my medication, no more discomfort no more reflux.

do not sleep immediately after eating

wait for at least 3 hours before sleeping.

and do not sleep leaning on your right side. This is not some old grandma's tale.

Sleep flat or either sleep leaning on your left side.

It takes time to heal an "injured" stomache.

1. Do a scoping to find the root cause.
2. Healthy & balance diet.
3. Eat on time even u r not hungry
4. Sleep well, exercise
5. Eat gently, slowly with reasonable portion.

Hello. No worries, I don't recall the amount for endoscopy itself, but the whole experience (hospital stay for 3 days, consultation, meds, etc.) I think went up to RM4k +/-, don't have the bill on hand at present. Will try to find it and update here again soon.

Price wise, you can call up the hospital to check. Some is quite high, some can be as low as 1k +.

Now days, they will put you in daycare ward, so about half day can go back already.

Can you describe the heart burn you're experiencing? It could get really painful until sit or stand or lie down also cannot?

Go outside and sweat it out everyday for at least 40m. Avoid caffeine and spicy food.
