I think Owen make a mistake by joining Real Madrid....He never be able to command a regular first team there & when he back to EPL, he got injured regularly...

Maybe he wasted his carrier at ManUtd , however ... contrary to 99% of ManUtd fans here , I still think Veron is a superb player and ManUtd benifited ALOT especially in the 2002-2003 season. So its definately not a waste for ManUtd , even with the 28mill pounds price tag.
Its the media that depecited Veron as such a flop , when infact ... he isnt a flop at all.
*hint* ask van Nistelrooy , behind Beckham , almost all the other assist especially in UCL comes from Veron
*
i would agree to that
veron did very well in CL games
i remember one of his contribution, with the outside of his boot he curled a shot/assist which ended in a great goal
i have never seen such a skill and it left my jaw dangling in awe of what i had witnessed

Lulz. The irony of "You'll never walk alone" really hit Owen. Worshiped at Anfield but he left and after that he really 'walk alone' and the Reds goes on winning CL. I pity him.

I WOULD SAY OWEN AND BAPTISTA....

EVENTOUGH OWEN WAS A FAILURE THERE BUT HE WAS A GOALSCORING MACHINE.....
HE WAS D SECOND TOP SCORER FOR RM AFTA RONALDO....BUT STILL HE MADE D WRONG DECISION OF LEAVING LFC CUZ HE DIDNT GT 1 TEAM GAME AND LOST HIS ENGLAND SQUAD PLACE....

AND BAPTISTA...IS BECAUSE...HE GOT VERY LIL GAME TO PLAY...AND WAS A TOTALY FAILURE ....BUT B4 HE MAE THE MOVE TO RM ARSENAL WAS HUNTING FORHIM ALREADY BUT HE WAS SEEKIN A SPANISH CITIZENSHIP...AND A A CALL FROM THE SPANISH TEAM....BUT THAT DINT HAPEN AND TOOO BAD FOR HIM....

IMHO

Beckham Woodgate all learned something from their stint in Real Madrid.

Beckham defensive positioning is so much better.
Woodgate, if you compared when he was in Leeds, and when he was playing in Real Madrid, he learned so much. Italians defenders are known for their tactical positioning and Woodgate has learned alot, albeit he still makes mistakes but he's much better. I tend to watch Boro game to see him play.

Owen is a mystery, he's been out injured too many times to see a difference but if you look at his first few games for Newcastle, you could see his improvement in how well he moves around, in support especially. 11 games played, 7 goals scored. Not bad ya?

Reyes? that cry baby deserves to be put in his place and be stuck in RM. He had a good thing going at Arsenal and if he waited for his chance, he would have been playing regularly and improving leaps and bounds. Instead he's going down the path of Baptista, Anelka.

Ronaldo? how the mighty has fallen.Remember his game vs Man U? that WAS class. Can you remember any game in RM when he played like that? neither can i.

Baptista? i was actually excited of him coming over to Arsenal. I was a fan of Seville FC and i loved seeing him play. He had the skill, the confidence and i believe if he stayed at Seville, he'll be what i would call a cross between Drogba and C.Ronaldo

He made a tremendous mistake, in football sense in choosing RM. If he wanted a Euro passport, he could have stayed in Seville, and he would hold his place and be a better play there.Alas, the fame of RM took away whatever skill he has and gave him a seriously ba attitude. He complains English game are too physical for him to do any stepovers or show off his skill. Bah hambug! He cant even control the ball.

(you can see by my rants im an Arsenal fan tongue.gif)

p/s: BTW u should put anelka in there. that is a classic story of what not to do when you're a good striker.

Therefore my choice would be:

Baptista
Anelka (if he was in your list)
Ronaldo

I don't see how. Even the directors of the club confessed that they have been buying too many 'unnecessary' players.

What nonsense. Besides whatever the directors say has nothing to do with this thread. This thread is implying that players make bad decisions when they sign for RM. What the TS is so ignorant about is that all clubs have signed players that turned out to be bad decisions on their part, so to single out just one club is blatantly disrespectful.

Why don't u tell me what club u support? I'll gladly open a thread similar to this. rolleyes.gif

The players made a bad decision for joining Real Madrid because Real Madrid bought too many unnecessary players (which the players and staff of Real Madrid knows themselves), resulting in putting these top players on the bench, which in turn results to the downfall of the players' futures. See the relevance?

I don't support any particular team by the way. I support the game called football.

Your point would be valid if all the players listed there were strikers and all of them were in the squad at the same time which clearly wasn't the case.

How is Woodgate considered unnecessary? Baptista and Beckham played quite a number of games so they weren't just sitting on the bench most of the time. Besides I'm sure u've heard of squad depth right? I can name many players in Man Utd or Chelsea for instance who spend most of their time on the bench. Is Baptista getting games in Arsenal? So why should RM be singled out?
