IMHO

Beckham Woodgate all learned something from their stint in Real Madrid.

Beckham defensive positioning is so much better.
Woodgate, if you compared when he was in Leeds, and when he was playing in Real Madrid, he learned so much. Italians defenders are known for their tactical positioning and Woodgate has learned alot, albeit he still makes mistakes but he's much better. I tend to watch Boro game to see him play.

Owen is a mystery, he's been out injured too many times to see a difference but if you look at his first few games for Newcastle, you could see his improvement in how well he moves around, in support especially. 11 games played, 7 goals scored. Not bad ya?

Reyes? that cry baby deserves to be put in his place and be stuck in RM. He had a good thing going at Arsenal and if he waited for his chance, he would have been playing regularly and improving leaps and bounds. Instead he's going down the path of Baptista, Anelka.

Ronaldo? how the mighty has fallen.Remember his game vs Man U? that WAS class. Can you remember any game in RM when he played like that? neither can i.

Baptista? i was actually excited of him coming over to Arsenal. I was a fan of Seville FC and i loved seeing him play. He had the skill, the confidence and i believe if he stayed at Seville, he'll be what i would call a cross between Drogba and C.Ronaldo

He made a tremendous mistake, in football sense in choosing RM. If he wanted a Euro passport, he could have stayed in Seville, and he would hold his place and be a better play there.Alas, the fame of RM took away whatever skill he has and gave him a seriously ba attitude. He complains English game are too physical for him to do any stepovers or show off his skill. Bah hambug! He cant even control the ball.

(you can see by my rants im an Arsenal fan tongue.gif)

p/s: BTW u should put anelka in there. that is a classic story of what not to do when you're a good striker.

Therefore my choice would be:

Baptista
Anelka (if he was in your list)
Ronaldo

Your point would be valid if all the players listed there were strikers and all of them were in the squad at the same time which clearly wasn't the case.

How is Woodgate considered unnecessary? Baptista and Beckham played quite a number of games so they weren't just sitting on the bench most of the time. Besides I'm sure u've heard of squad depth right? I can name many players in Man Utd or Chelsea for instance who spend most of their time on the bench. Is Baptista getting games in Arsenal? So why should RM be singled out?

I think the problem with RM is the directors interfere, and the coaches not powerful enough to demand things done their way.

On their day, RM can really play well. Barca vs RM game few weeks back was a good example.

hang in there!

btw Baptista stats: GP 30 Goals 9 Assits: 3 - i still feel he's a good player ( i love to watch him play in Seville but you cant deny lack of games at RM really affected him)
