But don't you fans ever get really frustrated with your non-performing players? Cisse for example for Liverpool. Or Shevchenko for Chelsea. You know, the guys that really irks you when they play (or don't play) and put the team into so much trouble. QUOTE(vreis @ Jan 29 2008, 11:04 AM) BTW am proud that unlike fans of the other, we in Reds Thread seldom put in signature to degrade rival. I mean why don't you put in something to uphold your believe in your club? Isn't it normal that fans will diss the players of other teams? I do respect Gerrard, for example, and I think Liverpool can't be anywhere they are at the moment without him. But I diss him not because I hate him, it's just that he's good and created so much problem when Man Utd met Liverpool at Anfield. It's sort of a complimentary diss, sort to speak QUOTE(Duke Red @ Jan 29 2008, 02:40 PM) I think it's ok to have a go at your players or manager every now and then especially if they're crap. Heck, you have a go at your friend if he's doing something wrong right? Doesn't mean you don't still love him as your friend. Footballers are professionals and heckling is an occupational hazard. You really think he's going to go home and cry if you scold and shout at him? Well, you must be wondering why Rafa's rotational strategy ain't paying off like Man Utd's or Chelsea's... Anyway, yeah, to me it's not wrong to diss as there isn't any team that is perfect.

Hmmm...never knew how big the rivalry between Liverpool and Everton was/is/will be. Didn't bother as well So, real fans of LFC, anyone donated for the "Keep Rafa At Pool" cause yet?

QUOTE(shah_ho_nam2 @ Feb 27 2008, 04:42 AM) trust me the way to end that. is to close this thread If everyone agrees with everyone, it would be pointless to have a forum. BTW, you should do your homework before supporting that other guy. This post has been edited by clayclws: Feb 27 2008, 08:25 AM

QUOTE(nakata101 @ Feb 29 2008, 07:41 AM) Stop reply the Jerk, please.... i beg u guys. Back to topic please... How about this, a exmaple, i like England so much, i like all their player very very much, but each player got their own club, like Lampard at Chelsea, Rooney at Man U, Gerrard at Liverpool and Owen at Newcastle, so bcoz i support them, me also support their club too, so it is call as REAL Fan??? How about u guys think? It is ok to be a fan like that? I guess this thread is about "REAL" or "TRUE" fans of a club...not players...

QUOTE(nakata101 @ Feb 29 2008, 10:37 AM) The thread title mean how to be a Real Fan, right?? But to be a real fan, why it should be state for a club only??? OK, maybe not just a club. Can be for a country, or a state...any team. But not a player. If you're a fan of a player, you wouldn't be subscribing to what the team meant as a whole. You wouldn't be passioante about their gameplay, about their history, their manager, other players in the team, etc. You would love that player until he leaves or retires. Then, you woudn't give a damn about that club anymore, would you? I guess you are a fan of England as a team. That's fine. But I wouldn't say you are a fan of Man Utd, Liverpool or Chelsea (Aresnal out since Walcott is the only English player that makes a mark there...).

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Mar 1 2008, 09:16 AM) Well my ex was an Arsenal supporter but being a girl, she wasn't all that religious. I made it a point she could at least name 11 players and know why Arsenal are called, "The Gunners". I tried to brainwash her but the most I could do was to get her to like Steven Gerrard A friend of mine who is a Liverpool supporter is married to a manc (a pretty serious one at that). Needless to say they don't watch our games together and they don't talk much after either. I reckon most women I know are mancs. I have another friend who married one half of the now defunct, Juliet The Orange. Both are Liverpool fans and for their walk in song, they chose, "You'll Never Walk Alone". I've another friend (a girl) who got married recently. She watches football while her husband doesn't, doh! Anyway she isn't a fan of any particular club, just a fan of the sport but while she supports anyone but Man Utd, she has a soft spot for Liverpool. She used to lyrics to "You'll Never Walk Alone" is her wedding vows. I don't cry at weddings but this surely did put a tear in my eye Speaking of 'real fans', I met this Liverpool supporter on Friendster. She is from Singapore and she's smoking! Got to talking with her until she finally called one day. We spoke for a total of 2 hrs on Shankly, Paisley, Dalglish, Hillsborough, Heysel, you name it. She did her research, something many guys wouldn't be arsed to do. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. She is a little weird though. I once ended a phone call because I wanted to watch the Man Utd game and she wasn't best pleased. Haven't spoken to her since . Point is however, here was a girl, a hot one at that, and she bothered to read up on our past. It was like talking to another bloke to be honest.Smoking~! My cousin is a Liverpool fan herself...and her boyfriend is a Man Utd supporter. Although she's not considered a real fan, at least she knows about the history and stuff. Her boyfriend loves to taunt her (I do that as well). But thing is, football brought them closer and not apart even though they support different teams.

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Mar 1 2008, 10:20 PM) Any chance your cousin's called Kimberley? Nope. Hot doctor named Angel. I used to respect Chelsea fans...but after RA...and JM, all of sudden fans sprout like wild mushrooms. I was like, "Huh? What the heck? Were you all hiding before?" Then, I get to know that most of them aren't that passionate with football. They just hate Man Utd and wanted to support a team that is winning...so...no respect for those kind of people. My course mate for instance... But as a friend is alright... This post has been edited by clayclws: Mar 2 2008, 10:05 AM

QUOTE(roobenjoey89 @ Mar 3 2008, 06:56 PM) when ur team looses, how long does it take you to get over it, and do ur partnerd do anything to comfort u? hehe... just wondering Doesn't take long unless some people want to rub some salt into the defeat...like Chelsea's win in FA Cup last year. I never had a partner that loves football, so, no idea.
