Sepang is borderline one of those boring circuit. I think it has been helped by the weather a lot and to some extent reliability issues since it was the 2nd or 3rd race of the calendar. At first, the race time was much earlier and there's less chances of downpour. The result was also much more predictable. It only started to change when it was scheduled later in the year and also a late race start.

Not to say Lewis didn't do his part leading to the incident but you can see how some drivers (Max and Fernando in particular) behaved differently when racing side by side with Lewis vs other drivers.

Yes, Lewis made a mistake but there's definitely a difference. Even though George had the inside (lewis was on the outside but slightly ahead with some late braking), Fernando seem to back off a lot easier against others. I don't mean Fernando isn't a good racer, it's just that some of them had personal grudges against Lewis at another level. The comment Fernando managed to deliver while driving at full speed is unbelievable.

I think it's 50-50. The reason why I gave 50 to Lewis was he's on the racing line and being slightly ahead when they reached the apex. Of course he had to leave racing room, but cover too much. He probably thought Fernando should yield but he didn't.

It is the same. However changing a gearbox that's within the allocation wont trigger a penalty. There is no such thing as free practice gearbox.

The idea was to create a drs train. So Merc still possible to get 1-2 if they managed to pull it off. I think Lewis was back up to speed after 4 laps.

Honestly speaking, it's hard to imagine Mercedes would win again after what I saw today. They don't even go for team work anymore. A win would be so sweet after such a horrible season for them. Not sure why GR wanted to go soft and behind Max. He thinks he can catch the RB on soft?

GR should pit earlier if he really wanted to pit. Instead Max pit while they gone around. Then Max caught up and suddenly GR wanted to pit because he claimed tyres losing temp.

You don't get what is drs train, otherwise you wouldn't ask if it would work. The real problem is trying to create the team work to make the drs train last until the last lap.
