QUOTE(andrekua2 @ May 23 2022, 12:43 AM) Hard to say right... CL pace is so much better than CS. Of course if you use CS as comparison, even LH who was 50+ seconds behind after lap 1 managed to overtake the Ferrari said it all. However, CL was slowly pulling away from MV before his first pit stop. It was 3+ seconds which later extended to over 9s after Max ran wide. Even after Max pitted for medium and got stuck behind GR, CL was consistently matching their time on worn out soft and then pulling away from the pair with the medium tyre. I'll use SP as comparison and SP only closing in to GR and MV pair, not when compared to CL. But so far this season, we have yet to see how Ferarri able to stop Max in the race which Max completed.

Already said Ferrari can only nail the qualifying. I doubt they can compete with RB in main race, at least for time being. RB still has the best car.
Sad for Perez, even Bottas did not get this kind of treatment form Merc.

I really hope Ferrari can fix their issue, not only car but their strategy and communication as well. They need near 0 error and issue to be able to compete with RB.

Sorry for the noob questions. Is there such thing drivers overshot their starting grid? If it happens, they just reverse the car is it?

QUOTE(sp6068 @ Sep 4 2022, 10:48 PM) The idea for merc was to get 2 cars in front of MV to stop him. But GR being selfish made his own call to pit for soft made LH vulnerable in front which is basically what we saw after the SC restart. GR would probably be the most hated Merc driver for this week LOL But i dun think both merc can def from max even if russell din make that call. Rb was just too fast on the soft. Should have change lewis to spft as well so that he can secure that 2nd position?

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Sep 4 2022, 10:55 PM) The idea was to create a drs train. So Merc still possible to get 1-2 if they managed to pull it off. I think Lewis was back up to speed after 4 laps. Honestly speaking, it's hard to imagine Mercedes would win again after what I saw today. They don't even go for team work anymore. A win would be so sweet after such a horrible season for them. Not sure why GR wanted to go soft and behind Max. He thinks he can catch the RB on soft? I dun think russell is thinking about catching max. Most likely, how to def from the cars behind him. If he din change to soft, he would have end up like hamilton. And look how easy for max overtook hamilton after the restart This post has been edited by O-haiyo: Sep 4 2022, 11:01 PM

QUOTE(Matchy @ Sep 4 2022, 11:08 PM) lewis is in front of max during the safety car? if he pit, he'll come out behind max. doubt he can overtake MV even with soft. Ya, thats my point. But at least he can secure podium, no?

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Sep 4 2022, 11:02 PM) Looks like you dont understand the concept of drs train. I know what is drs train. But with max rb car on soft, was it possible for merc to def?

QUOTE(Matchy @ Sep 4 2022, 11:20 PM) i guess its a gamble that they took... if they pit, confirm no p1. if they dont pit, might have chance with the DRS train. but GR pitted, so, LH no wingman to help. I guess so. But drs is only 2 laps after the restart. Doubt russel can help that much with max on soft

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Sep 4 2022, 11:37 PM) You don't get what is drs train, otherwise you wouldn't ask if it would work. The real problem is trying to create the team work to make the drs train last until the last lap. Ok whatever you say dude

QUOTE(ctw88 @ Sep 5 2022, 09:41 PM) Totally agree with this. If mercs stay out with medium, they would both get passed by MV and CL who were on fresh softs. They would probably end up with 3rd and 4th instead of 2nd and 4th. Both GR and LH knew its hard to get heat into the tyres of their mercs, at least GR reacted to it and insist on softs. Thats good call on his part. Also it turns out LH has the wrong engine mode during the restart and made MV's job much easier. He only has himself to blame for that Yep, drs train or not, there's no way merc can defend track position from max who was on soft. How max overtook lewis during the restart made me laugh. Should have just pitted both and secure the p2 and p3
