QUOTE(-= Virgil =- @ May 24 2007, 03:10 PM) The console is extremely sensitive as i have spend 3 days to tune it to the right pressure to get it working. Probably the "smacking-the-console" trick might keep it alive eh Anyway katana, thank you so much for helping out.. cant thank you enough |

QUOTE(kyap @ May 25 2007, 02:27 PM) If go SG by ourself should be in one week time can get back the console. But before that must call M$ SG to get the appointment. I had did for my friends before and drove to SG to claimed the console. Actually the warranty process is quite simple just the draw back is have to drive all the way to SG if still under warranty just calculate the cost to send the console, transport, pass to enter the city, etc. it can total to hundred plus.if no more warranty the cost to repair on average is SGD240.... |

QUOTE(redbull_y2k @ Jun 19 2007, 02:28 PM) You guys should read this interview with Todd Holmdahl, about Xbox 360 failures. This fella keeps avoiding the questions man. Bah! the way Todd Holmdahl avoids the question is unbelievable, he can answer something totally different from what Dean was asking. More of the rest of the interview here. |

after reading the Q & A by Dean Takahasi, i found Dean questioning very passive on the failure rate.
QUOTE Q: I've heard varying accounts of what is considered a normal return rate. Some people say that 2 percent is normal. Sometimes 3 percent to 5 percent is considered normal. Back to that question, can you address whether you are within those rates or within a normal rate. back half year or a year ago they did say it's less than 5 or 3 percent, they also say they won't disclose the actual number. Dean didn't question is it still in that range.A: We don't disclose the actual number. QUOTE Q: There is talk you are going to 65 nanometer chips. Can you talk about the significance of that? sounds more like the 65 nanometer chip won't be coming out or Todd has no idea of it.A: We continue to redesign the box, continue to drive costs out. We don't talk about the specifics of it. QUOTE Q: If you take the main chips from 90nm to 65nm, do you get accompanying benefits in the rest of the system? Does the board itself get smaller? wah lau eh... super OT. A: That's a really good point, Dean. When you do these designs, you're looking at the CPU or the GPU, or just one specific internal component, as we continue to look through it, we look at it as a complete system. We make sure the components work with the system, delivers the right levels of performance, and operates at the right voltage to perform at the levels we want it to perform at. this guy story about defective 360 was utterly amazing: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The 360-Gamer Xbox 360 Hardware Failure Survey QUOTE Live Stats & Results There have been 4689 survey submissions so far This represents 0.47% of the 1,007,246 Gamertags registered to date A total of 2909 users who responded to this survey left comments Of the 4689 submissions: 1728 (36.85%) say they have NOT had a console fail 1901 (40.54%) say they've had one console fail 1060 (22.61%) say they've had more than one console fail Overall 2961 (63.15%) of submissions claim to have experienced Xbox 360 hardware failure 1888 (40.26%) submissions purchased their first Xbox 360 before January '06 Of these 1888 submissions: 1333 (70.60%) claim their Xbox 360 broke 555 (29.40%) say their Xbox 360 is still going strong The 2961 submissions citing problems collectively claim a total of 4753 broken Xbox 360s go to this link: http://360-gamer.com/xbox360hardwarefailuresurvey.asp and and fill the form, whether your console was defective or not. might give better insight on how many percentage in the hardware failure. btw, people with console that still haven't kena 3rod should also submit, because the survey is for all condition of the console, so can get more accurate percentage. the link again: http://360-gamer.com/xbox360hardwarefailuresurvey.asp |

QUOTE(wcliang @ Aug 19 2007, 10:28 PM) don't go with liang, he'll chop off your gugu and sell it to finances his gaming needs. but yeah, getting the warranty is also good since you never knows when it die again. just hope it don't die again coz you have to spend few hundred again for the trip. QUOTE(ImSIEBEL @ Aug 20 2007, 11:08 AM) I Thought if u go SG for the Warranty they will give u Refurbished console...Not Repair ur console.. last time i get refurbished console.QUOTE(silencer @ Aug 20 2007, 12:36 PM) They have changed the policy after the announcement of 3 years warranty coverage, even if it s refurbished, it will come with the extra chipset, and u never know if u strike the jackpot.....with falcon chip inside..or maybe getting a new premium with hdmi...... don't think you'll get the hdmi or falcon. they got so many refurbished console that need to be clear off, almost all SG friendlist that i have has got the 360 replaced coz of 3ROD, some even 3-4 times. |
