Guys I coated my car when I first got it in Jul 2018 but planning on forgoing the maintenance work and do more hands-on like self wax, do I need to do anything to "remove" the old coating? Or by now already worn off and I can wax as I like?

the wear off is really uneven so you may need to buff off the entire car coating first. thats the one point that many coating shops dont tell u so people have no choice but to continue paying maintenance
*
How to buff off the coating without damaging car paint? That's my #1 concern, especially if some coating already bonded with the paint.

QUOTE(shadow_fax @ Dec 11 2019, 04:48 PM)
What type of coating you did?
You can apply wax on top of coating.
*
I think is glass coating not ceramic... would applying wax on top cause the shine and sheen to look "off"?

Anyone experienced front right of the car somewhere near suspension or wheel well where there’s a soft clunk sound when going over small imperfections in road like auto gate rail? Mine started doing this recently but couldn’t isolate what’s causing it

Thanks for the insight. Lol wow this is a 2018 model, so fast need to replace? Wonder if I tell SC they’ll know it’s that problem or they’ll say can’t reproduce issue and call it a day again. Damn facepalm.

Crazy. Did you experience the same issues like clunking (klok klok) when going over small imperfections in the road? My service is scheduled for 11 Jan, is it safe to keep driving or need to replace asap?

Thanks for info mate, should i check with honda malaysia whether this car is still entitled for warranty or check with the service center is sufficient enough?

Tho i quite confuse with this warranty period as previously proton doesnt include the fifth year(means when it enter 5th year, the warranty ended)
*
It is definitely 5 years from start-finish and since Civic only released in Malaysia in 2016 the warranty is at least until 2021 for all models that are legally purchased here in Malaysia. As long as you have the service booklet and the car is under your name you're entitled to warranty.

QUOTE
Is the warranty transferable between owners?
Yes, providing the car is under five years old at the time of the sale. The balance of the warranty goes to the new owner, subject to servicing having been carried out at the recommended intervals at any Honda Authorised Dealers.

Hey guys did my 18 months service which included a battery change. The SC gave me back the old battery... not sure why they didn’t take it. How should I dispose it to make sure it doesn’t blow up in the garbage truck or something?

when civic FL launched. can we install / replace our old side mirror to the new one (with camera)?
*
Don't think so because the HU likely runs different version of the firmware... unless someone can figure out how to hack the FL HU firmware onto pre-FL then maybe there'll be a chance with OEM side mirror units...

For mine the small knocking sound comes from front right wheel area (driver side) when I either accelerate from a stop, or go over some uneven roads. Previously some members suggested it's suspension leak or failing suspension so I've set up an appointment with SC to get it checked out on Feb 14... will update here once I know what the issue is.

+1.
also if you so happen to be braking and hit uneven road, you'll  be shocked at the vibration from your pedals. arghh how to explain ar... its like the pedal is kicking back at your foot
*
I noticed if I'm braking while going through something that's extremely uneven, there'll be a clicking sound from the relay like when you first start your car and the auto-lock kicks in, or when first time hit 50 km/h from engine start, there are small clicking sounds.

Not sure what that is, VSC?

OK, please update here if really fixed your issue and I might go kacau SC again. In fact I did complain the sound and the technician said it was Engine mounting issue and get it replaced but still the same issue. It is hard for SC to check because it is hard to simulate the sound.
*
Not sure if ours is the same case but mine at first was quite random and hard to reproduce but after a month it started becoming more frequent and now I can reproduce it quite reliably by going over a hump or by accelerating from rest. Will update once I know anything.

Has anyone tried aftermarket front parking sensor, blind-spot monitoring and 360 deg camera setup? Can it be integrated into existing HU? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Finally got SC to take a look at clunking sound from my front right suspension area, turns out a bolt wasn’t tightened enough when they replaced my steering rack a few months ago. What the flying F?! Like this also can. I’ve lost faith in Honda with all these quality issues plaguing their CKD products, even a friend’s BRV got absorber issue only a few months after getting his new car.

without a doubt. as you can see very common time wasting problem with no solution (steering rack), totally shit quality. worse still when youve got a problem. you are at their mercy to set appointment for checking. my appt for feb 20th was set in first week of january
*
Worst thing for me was I had them set up an appointment with me two months out, and on the day of the appointment they asked me to go home first because their technicians busy and can only take a look a few hours later. I was like wtf I had an appointment and now you’re telling me I had to go back then come back again at your pleasure.

This was at the Penang Sg Pinang Kah Motor service center if anyone’s curious... shit service quality and every time after service I gave feedback was almost always ignored

To those who claimed steering rack, after SC submit report to HM, usually take how long to get the new part? Thanks.
*
2-3 weeks from claim start to part arrival, then put car overnight for them to install, test and do alignment.

That's a bit far for me since I live in Tg Bungah... but good to know. Will keep that as an option in the future if Sungai Pinang one disappoints again doh.gif
