Then just get some cheap china phones..there's plenty of choices for every budget. Heck there's even companies targeting "flagship specs" for mid range price.

Good points. But too bad, brand loyalty does indeed apply to a significant number of consumers. Apple users are the main culprit, then comes Samsung. I've seen people complaining about apple decision to release ip8 and X at the same time while upping the price of the X, but in the end still got the X because...and I quote...no choice. Samsung users tend to stick to Samsung because Chinese brands cannot be trusted and you rarely see them switching over to LG or another brand. That said, it's easier for Samsung users to migrate to another brand. So, I feel that the apple users are the one caged in.
