I tried Shopee FPX as other forummer suggested. Yes it's allow us to select credit card, will update if i receive 5x TP.

FPX is owned by BNM, which is same as MyClear or Jompay so unlikely I will get the 5TP. For cashback, I leave it to u guys to try :-)

The card issuers will cut down the benefits before 1/1/2021, when the merchant fee drops below 0.5%.
https://www.mastercard.com.my/en-my/about-m...nterchange.html

Then credit cards, debit cards, and prepaid cards are almost the same, for me.
Only those needing a credit and willing to pay interest will like credit cards.

Did you notice that GenXYZ stop blogging when the merchant fee dropped from 2-3% to 1.1% in 2015? He gave up and just returned recently, just because a lot of newcomers are paying late payment and interests to make the CC industry sustainable again.

if that's the case in 2021...
then many including me might consider consolidate into few cards with highest CL...
cc users might drop significantly...

but as the saying "enjoy it while it lasts..."

we should maximize the benefits while they r still offering it and while we could...

at least for this month...
i just get RM100 free money from maybank... biggrin.gif

Ok. I thought old cards and chips still contain enough information that can be risky if fallen into wrong hands. Since it was normally advised by banks to destroy the old/expired cards, I just go crazy with the shredder biggrin.gif

What's so great about that blog? Though I know the owner but sorry to say but it turns out to be a snobbish site which needs password to read this and that. Like seriously? The information he posted is basically a consolidation of tips we have been sharing here.
*
Sis you're seriously underestimating the value of consolidated information.

For example, all the knowledge on how to build a custom PC is available everywhere on the Internet, but there's still value in someone collecting best practices in one place where its easier for those unfamiliar to read up.

Our threads also practice that, there's why got OP and we always scold newcomers who don't bother to read it.

Of course for those who are familiar, this consolidation got no added value. Especially if need to pay.

But for someone who's new, such consolidated info is actually worth some money. I did read his site last time before he paywalled it, when first working and starting to figure out how to maximize credit cards. But after a while I don't bother because he went more into airline points and all that stuff I'm not interested.

your own old cards, of course you keep it safely and secured la laugh.gif not distribute like public album mah laugh.gif

if you worry the risk of old cards fallen into wrong hands, then even the current active cards definitely are/will be at risk whenever it exchanges hands!

this benefits vs security risk argument will never end too biggrin.gif thumbup.gif

No No. You have a point. I totally agree.

I just never considered Credit Cards to be collectibles like this. In fact, I almost regret not doing what you are doing with the old cards.

'tis an interesting idea for a memorabilia smile.gif

Now is probably a good time to pick up a Rolex OP. When the new movement with 70hr power reserve is launched, the current models may get even cheaper. Get the dial (any color) without the colored indices and all lume markers.

Stop asking people to read the first page in all threads! So long and difficult to scroll. If you dont want to answer just let others to spoon feed them. Otherwise they will soon feel being ignored and go to find out the answer themselves. The forum is not yours, people are free to ask anything.

Speaking of GenXYZ,
I only hope he doesn't get hold of knowledge to utilise B**P** for his users. Then another pw for the protected FB link.

He mentioned he retired early in mid 40s. How does he have the funds to buy a luxury car for his son, bottles of exquisite brandy, etc.. No matter how big his EPF is, he's gotta have a huge savings reserve or some existing side business (perhaps with partial passive income)

fruitie, what's your take ?
*
Passive income I gather, from reading between the lines.

The forum is not yours to simply fill up with the same questions again and again and demand spoon feeding. Volunteers spend their free time contributing info and maintaining detailed OP but you still want to ask for spoon feeding? Then please go somewhere else, you are not a good citizen of LYN bangwall.gif

Don't think bank will see as credit risk of many cards if credit score is good and repayment behaviour is excellent.

Plus those are secured loans. Personal loans are different tho As it is unsecured

Why has this topic suddenly become an avenue for some to roll and cry and spread hate because of SST tax on credit card?

Good thing I see a lot of maturity and positivity maintained among us. Well done! Let's keep it up!

You’re right. They will evaluate based on ur utilisation rate (outstanding/total limit) and also outstanding balance over your gross salary.
