Rather than spending time to improve the content, UI and navigation of astro go, they spending time to block "customers that paid them" from using astro go on android tv & box.
The lesser the "unofficial users use Android box to sideload Astro Go", means lesser CDN bandwidth usage as a result = lesser operating costs. And that equals to more people (especially those who don't watch to have Astro with satellite dish) to sign up Astro Ultra Plug & Play, and that means more revenue.
Astro's justification on Astro Go is, yes, customer do pay Astro for its content and services, but still, Astro Go is meant to stream on the go (phone, laptop, PCs), and it never meant to be able to sideload to TV boxes which end up people sharing Astro Go accounts with others, and then cancel their primary Astro subscription to save their monthly expenses.
That gives them enough reasons for actively restricting access on its app to work on ATV / TV boxes. It's all about money, and their way of doing business.
Tbh, sharing modded apk publicly like this, is a terrible idea.
