You overpaid for a 2019 model
*
You can't say like that. Not everybody is in the Klang valley with access to more bargain. If like that, are you also over paying for your stuff compared to American buyer in USA or Chinese buyer in China?

I think 65B9 was about RM8K before so RM7K is not bad.

I don't know. I think I used to see one in KD but I can't be sure if they are still there.

Anyway I checked online, and it seems like all these sub USD 1K TV are more of less same unless you buy previous year high end model on clearance. HDR or what are basically useless since they dont go above 300 nits. Hence I'm not too worried about picture quality, black levels etc. I will use it in living room which is bright anyway and I don't think it will be worse than my 10 years old plasma. I don't even have Netflix or HBO. Just youtube, Astro most of the time.
*
I always have plasma and personally I cant stand LED.

facing the same problem, cant connect to any soundbars via wireless/bluetooth (1 of the downside of it)

previously Hisense no problem connect
considering the price diff of only RM400, i would go for sony, atleast a much reputable brand in terms of TV
*
I once read somewhere whereby it says LG bluetooth connects to LG soundbar. And Samsung's Bluetooth to Samsung's. Doesn't quite makes sense but that is what was written.

As for Sony vs Hisense. It could be a low end Sony vs a high end Hisense. In that case, I will look at the Hisense.

Hard to say. What if he found a last year's 950g? Would you take it over this year's 900h?

i'm still undecided between OLED (Pana HZ1000) and an Full Array LED TV (Sony X90/X95).. sweat.gif

the colors and black levels on OLED are outstanding but certain expects like brightness nits would still be better on an LED panel.. :hmmm:
*
Watching it side by side, the OLED picture simply looks better to me. More natural. I don't think there is any pricing yet for the HZ1000.

My opinion. In general, there are 2 groups of people.

Some goes for perfection and that can be a real headache. Almost like a dog chasing it's own tail.

Some just switch on TV, and if the picture looks nice but may not accurate, don't go look for perfection but just sit back and watch.

I look at motion on my Plasma and the one on the OLED looks similar and I stopped looking for perfection and try to be in the later group. I tried not to look for headache.

To sum it up ,  the lack of Dolby Vision compatibility  is primarily caused by TV brands ( such as Samsung ) unwilling to pay Dolby a royalty fees to enter their VIP club . It is that simple .
TV that doesn't support DV , can opt for HDR10 + and built-in dynamic tone mapping functions which convert Static form of HDR [such as HDR10] to something identical to HDR10+ and DV .
Trying to understand.

So it basically means, HDR + dynamic tone mapping gives you similar result as DV?

If that is so, then you can't select Cinema. And have to select HDR and switch on dynamic tone mapping to get DV?

Warranty for another 3 years from harvey norman.

Lg cx warranty almost 2k to 3k plus. Big turn off.
*
You could consider SenQ using Citibank card. You get 2 years extra free warranty making it a total of 4.

And LG gives RM500 rebates

Ya, agree 75 and above would be nice, but then again need look at budget and not compromising on picture quality as well...dah sakit kepala

My hubby had quit gaming some time ago, so hardly, dolby is just a nice to have not a must since we have  a receiver.

Interesting the lady making the decision whereas for these sorts of thing, generally the men doing it. Good on you.

For family viewing, you might want to also consider.

1. Viewing angle. I read, read only, some panel have wider viewing angle and some lesser. So if you have a big group of people spread around the TV, might need to consider this issue.

2. Room brightness. Do you have a lot of lights in the room? Any direct sunlight hitting the TV screen?

3. Watching a lot of moving sports?

I think someone say, I could be mistaken, LG OLED 77" is about RM17K.

If you are used to Plasma colors, then probably OLED is for you.

The best value 65" right now has to be the Panasonic GZ1000 for RM8000. The only problem is, the advertiser on Lazada always no stock. I think they are playing games with people.

I would have picked the Panasonic, either the GZ or HZ but there are non available. I think Panansonic have never bought in the HZ1000 into this country.

Yes they did .

But Our 1000 series is equivalent to the 950 series in UK , which is the basic OLED but not the professional edition .

Panasonic MY never did release the professional edition in Malaysia .
*
I have never seen the HZ1000 in shop. And I have checked their website once in a while and it's always 'out of stock'. But I have seen the HZ1500 in their website. Hence my thinking they may never bought in the HZ1000.

Is the LG BX a good buy now compared to CX since SenHeng is doing a promo now at RM8,888? Is it worth the extra to go for the CX?
*
May be some SenQ or Seng Heng still have old unit of Panasonic GZ1000 65" for RM8000. I think that is far better than BX.

Regarding LG and casting.
LG doesn't advertise it. The salesman never told me either. I found out by accident.

They have the demo Sony video side by side in MV Harvey Norman.
The only difference I can spot is the 60hz vs 120hz. X90H more smooth.

The others unfortunately look the same to me. Maybe my naked eye cannot perceive the differences.
For 2k+- price jump, a bit hard to justify. Use for few years first then change OLED when price comes down.
*
It's often hard to tell the difference in the show rooms. So many factors affecting what we see.

Take for example an LED and an OLED. In the showroom, you do see differences but sometimes not much. But in your own home environment, the difference becomes much more obvious.
