Would you mind doing a factory reset once? Did you update to the latest December security patch? I suspect your modem.img is wrongly flashed. |

QUOTE(randnum23 @ Dec 22 2017, 09:25 PM) edit4: after factory reset seems can connect now. But no apps for now because I cant remember password edit3: i factory reset and see how. the account stuff i'll check tomorrow. edit2: Looks like I cant do a factory reset now since I dont have my google account password and its backup password reset email. Maybe tomorrow morning. Not really new, bought it around a day or two after release. Yeah. i updated the latest december update but it was working around 6pm today, but maybe the internet worked because I used home wifi. Factory reset? I can try, got backup function for the google account? I dont really remember the password now. I will check and see if can reset. edit1: I see my android security patch level is 1 december 2017 ah, I didn't warn you that you might loose apps. I'm rooted with Titanium Backup, that's why I can effortlessly restore my apps to its original state. Google backup for contacts is very good. For apps, it'll auto download and sync for you, but you still need to enter your credentials. |

QUOTE(qwerty27 @ Dec 23 2017, 11:20 AM) ive rooted my phone without any backup twrp or anything. ive edited two build.prop lines to enable the gcam. would i face any problems later? Hi Some reported that OTA upgrade would fail as you've changed the system. Which root path are you using? Magisk or SuperSU? |

QUOTE(qwerty27 @ Dec 23 2017, 06:17 PM) tbh, I don't know also. i followed this one guide on xda on how to root MiA1 without backup. im sure its not magisk, so ya how do I check? Hi If I remember correctly, SuperSU modified the system, hence OTA would fail. Magisk does not touch the system. Look for your apps in your inventory, Do you see SuperSU or Magisk? Perhaps you can show the guide that you followed in XDA. |

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Dec 23 2017, 07:13 PM) I believe there are some lurking ROM in XDA. Personally I wouldn't care for such update to happen the soonest as I willing to wait for a stable version before updating. Look at previous encounter, Lollipop releases 5.1 as stable version and Nougat too, 7.1 instead of the initial 7.0 where there'll be bugs and hiccups.Just because we can show off to our friend that we have the latest software doesn't sound proud for me. If I were to factory and bring miserable into my life, I rather wait. Just my 2 cent. |

QUOTE(kokyee992 @ Dec 26 2017, 10:30 AM) bro, what are the pros having stock android ? compared with other customized launchers. Hi i am struggling with the stock android of proclaimed no bloatware, fast updates etc. but i have to install a lot of 3rd party apps making it fraught with with ads and each 3rd party apps may not be compatible with each other. so need sifu here for guidance i go for A1 because of its dual cameras & built in amp but on the another hand it has a lot of to be desired. I previously also like this. Install this internet metered to monitor the download speed, includes that and this. Then after I discovered how root solves most of essential functions, I never needed to look back. I also reviewed what I ACTUALLY need. For example, do I really need that internet metered? If I know the download and upload speed, what difference I could do? I realized I can do nothing! Nothing at all. Even if I'm paranoid that my idle phones is downloading unnecessary stuff, WHAT actually I can do? Then i learned about Greenify and Amplify and Doze. Learned how to control the things I wanted it to behave (mind you, sometimes tinkering too much is actually bad) I used Nova Launcher and never looked at any other launcher. The basics and smoothes is what I'm looking for, for launcher. I don't want to cramp too much into a phone until it lags. Phone do what they suppose to do and each phone have their limits. That's why when we're buying phone we need to know our budget and our target. Don't just expect a Myvi can performed like a Honda Civic. Food for thought. I get for what I paid for. I'm looking for stable, long lasting, less heat phone. Hence, sacrificing CPU speed for longer battery and up time. I'm using Titanium Backup just because the ability to restore apps and freeze app is very good for me. Worth the PRO key. Nova Launcher Prime is on sale now for RM1, IMO it's worth getting it, else you need to wait for the next sale. Just my humble opinion |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Dec 26 2017, 07:14 PM) Unfortunately my Mi A1 isn't giving me good experience now, if the screen is black it can take anywhere from 0.5 seconds (normal) to 10 seconds to just light up. I get it also, these symptoms occur if I lock the phone and quickly re-opens it with the fingerprint scanner, it'll take that seconds to light up. I'm guessing it's a security feature of software and nothing to do with the hardware specifications. I believe if you try this on Nexus or Pixel, they will have the same symptoms. I did turn off Ambient Display because it causes permanent black screen if I lock and unlock too fast. |
