need some help here

I tried to connect my 6400 to my TV using S-Video 7 pin Male to RCA Female adapter BUT my TV don't detect at all

What's my prob?

I followed all the instructions in the owner's manual page 63
BUT when i clicked Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advance; i can't find the tab for my video card

I even lower the resolution by 800 x 600 since TV cannot detect res higher than that BUT still, nothing...
what am i done wrong here? Need advice

How many drivers do I need to reinstall if I do a reformat?

The keyboard plugs in via USB and the cable is neatly recessed under the stand when it's folded away. anyone tested the 6400 to play some HD DVD movies? Is it jerky? Coz i downloaded a 1080p Fantastic 4 trailer and it jerks a bit during playback...

for info, the specs for my Dell are

Intel Core 2 duo t5300
2gb ddr2 sdram
120gb hdd

so u think it's enough for true HD playback? wuts the minimum requirement anyway?

I found serious delay in nudging when using Windows Live Messenger in Windows Vista.
Do you all notice this problem? I supposed this is the compability issue between the OS and the messenger...
anyone has any suggestions/experience on that?

guys , i recently facing wireless problems on my 6400 . i hardly can connect to wifi when i m in wifi area ... I try to uninstalled the wifi driver and reinstalled it on the spot and it cant solved my problems ....looks like i gonna flame dell again and ask for troubleshooting 

get another 1gb .....it can also run dual channel ...i done it b4 d...

i hav run it for 1week+ and it show dual channel on the CPU-ID there

sufficient ? depend on how u use it .... if u run aero on it , it may juz enuf only ....but then if u switch it off , it is sufficient enuf ....    

ok , alright ...might be my fault...but dual channel only improve + - 10% only ....

i dun really think that 1.5gb ram will lose to 1gb dual channel ram , am i rite ?   

running higher capacity ram is better than running 512mb ram x 2 .....

im really upset with my Inspiron 6400 now.

ive been using pc for almost 10 years now
ok, this is my first purchase of Core 2 Duo[1.7gz 533mhz] laptop. [previously owned a Intel Centrino 1.6gz]

i order with Vista + 1GB Ram / Ati x1400

when i first receive from the package. it was all new and stuff
i boot it up.. and load up to Vista but it was stuck for loading like more then 30 minutes.
then rebooted again, and same thing keeps happening.
well i got pissed, i formated it
then i install WinXP Pro sp2

everything was fine.
but the thing i notice.

my 6400. always have LAG SPIKE in running anything.
even normal window explorer opening folders sure got LAG SPIKE. [ formated twice winxp. same thing]

i can say my old centrino runs even faster and smoother then my new 6400 with core2duo

now this is really pissing me off already.. its worst then any other pc/laptop i owned.

can be this unit be FAULTY?

or do you guys get constant lag spike with core2duo?

Yep, let it ran for sometime cos Vista needs to setup by its own.
after that.. whole Os stuck there.. yeah. rebooted and tried alot of times. same thing
so i switched do XP. but the thing is.. the laptop randomsly lagggggggg.[fresh windowxp pro]

hmm.. worst thing is slower then my other pc/laptops
