QUOTE(teikwing @ Aug 12 2007, 06:46 AM)
means when buying Vista..i should go for the 32bit version only? thanks for the info. smile.gif currently how much does Vista Ultimate & Home Premium retail? is it possible to get OEM version from Dell (w/o buying a new PC) or from shops?
*
Well, currently it's safer to get 32bit Vista as most applications are 32 bit format.

I don't know what will happen in the near future though, but I doubt that it'd be soon enough that all app will be 32bit.

You can view the pricing here

http://images.lowyat.net/pricelist/czone.pdf

I have Vista Ultimate Retail and it comes with both 32 bit and 64 bit. Home Premium doesn't.

My aunt got me the Windows Vista as she's working in Microsoft Malaysia. I don't know the price thought.

It's my farewell gift.

Many programs designed for a computer running a 32-bit version of Windows will work on a computer running 64-bit versions of Windows without any changes. However, in some cases there might be differences in performance. If you have a 64-bit computer, it's best to run programs designed to run on a 64-bit computer.
