You are reinstalling what windows? Windows Vista or XP?

For Vista, you don't need to reinstall any drivers. All dell 6400 drivers are available in the Windows Vista installation.

You just need to update the drivers if you want to.

Logitech Alto keyboard and laptop stand

QUOTE
The keyboard plugs in via USB and the cable is neatly recessed under the stand when it's folded away. There are also three additional USB ports on the stand - two at the rear and one on the right-hand side at the back - so you can plug in a mouse and other peripherals. But this isn't a docking station as such, so other cables and add-ons will need to connect to the laptop as usual.
Check this out people. New product. RRP: USD 99.99

anyone tested the 6400 to play some HD DVD movies? Is it jerky? Coz i downloaded a 1080p Fantastic 4 trailer and it jerks a bit during playback...

for info, the specs for my Dell are

Intel Core 2 duo t5300
2gb ddr2 sdram
120gb hdd

so u think it's enough for true HD playback? wuts the minimum requirement anyway?

coz thinking of collecting HD dvds now...

Sometimes video jerk doesn't mean it's the hardware problem.

I could be the video codec's problem.

What video player do you use?

Try using VLC Player.

mine won't jerk... but the sound will slowly out of sync the longer you play...
need to press pause and then play again... but this is for Quicktime Player...

i tried using another player... it did jerk 2 or 3 times (very short jerk)...
but the sound is ok...

btw... can you pm me where you buy HD DVDs?

Actually ur lappy HD capability not depends ur hardware.Becuz most of computer can do that,it depends ur physicall spec.JUz like ur display size..speaker..etc.Or maybe only the hardware is graphics card and sound card. But physicall fact is more important.

HD file if notmistaken depend alot on procs n graphic card....since HD come with high resolution image video, good graphic card does affect ur HD capability playback...lcd screen does not affect HD playback capability...lcd screen is just an output...

this is the requirement to play HD files...taken from microsoft...
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsme...ntshowcase.aspx

Minimum Configuration
(to play 720p video)
# Windows XP
# Windows Media Player 9 Series
# 2.4 GHz processor or equivalent
# 384 MB of RAM
# 64 MB video card
# 1024 x 768 screen resolution
# 16-bit sound card
# Speakers

Optimum Configuration
(to play 1080p video with 5.1 surround sound)
# Windows XP
# Windows Media Player 10
# DirectX 9.0
# 3.0 GHz processor or equivalent
# 512 MB of RAM
# 128 MB video card
# 1920 x 1440 screen resolution
# 24-bit 96 kHz multichannel sound card
# 5.1 surround sound speaker system

tested 1080p video on mine notebook...jerk a little bit...maybe due to my procs...t2300 only... sad.gif hehe...but i got philips auriliun surround sound card.... biggrin.gif pair with my R501... rolleyes.gif

if 720p video, no probs at all...hehe...
