Hi guys been googling quite awhile and still not getting a clear answer about this , just need a quick confirmation. I've been using dexron 3 from various brands for quite awhile for a yrv gearbox and yes I'm quite aware that toyota T-IV is not compatible with this gearbox.

So recently i changed the atf from d3 to sp3 as the sparepart shop has no stock for d3 atf. After changing it was fine for a week before it started making a moderate ticking sound only at P R and when using tiptronic at gear 2 3. This is definitely not normal. I change my atf every 6months. Is sp3(perodua) compatible with this gearbox? I cant confirm as i have no user manual for yrv maintenance only myvi's. Hopefully you guys can help me.

I use mostly castrol d3 atf, some petronas d3 atf and a few other d3 atf from reputable brands. It's my first time buying and using an sp3 from perodua red bottle.

Also i changed the filter as well and emptied out the gearbox cooler to make sure to get most of it out besides the torque converter. Everytime

You should use D3 and not SP3. Many people confuse D3 SP with SP3. You can use D3 SP and not SP3.

GB is very sensitive to oil type. Mine is a 1st gen cvt. Uses SP-III. If I try use J1-CVT oil (which is a newer generation oil) also will hv problems.

Perodua D3 is green bottle, and SP3 is red bottle. TS says YRV gearbox so I guess it is suppose to use green bottle D3. D3 SP is no where to find from spare part shop. Only perodua service center carry the item in 18 litre packing.

In fact perodua use D3, D3 SP or SP3.

D3 and D3 SP are kinda compatible. At least I never see someone complain of D3 when the car require D3 SP.

SP3 has different modifier so it's totally different from D3.

Sorry to say that I can't confirm which P2 car would use perodua SP3. However, few people say one of the car using P2 SP3 ATF is myvi lagi best, but frankly speaking I don't really know what is myvi lagi best. Hehe.

It's probably the 2015+ lagi best with the four-speed 4 E-AT automatic. I stand corrected.

The grades usually are cross-manufacturer. As long as SPIII it shd be ok.

U can check manufacturer labels, usually it lists all the grades it can support.
