Seriously a single room of 24 x 18 is very large, that's even larger than the living hall of any terrace house and most semi-d's. Anyway, you would be able to setup a very comfortable AV room in there. Congrats.

Banana also got different types. Some you crimp, some you solder, some you screw down. Those that are crimped might not be 1 size fit all. Those really thick wires like 10 AWG might have trouble. But if you're not using so thick then should be ok.

From reading the forums I see a lot of people buy from monoprice. I think someone here also bought from there. Might be the cheapest alternative.

At RM50 each, cost of the plugs will outweigh the cables. Anyway, I'm using bare wire connection now. But if I ever decide to use bananas I still have a few pairs of bananas from Monitor Audio (leftover from earlier years). Nice solid pieces.

Added on June 29, 2009, 6:44 pmI have a few exactly like that Nakamichi one, except the jacket is plain and doesn't say Nakamichi. Yes, quite secure since it has 2 grub screws. But much more lightweight than my MA bananas.

For me I had a power point made in the ceiling near the projector. But if your power point is further away then I suggest you get a new longer power cable.

Try some PC shops. I'm sure they sell the longer generic IEC power cables.

But how long do you need?

What do you mean by "no wires in sight"? I think you can't runaway from all the interconnects, speaker cables, power cables, etc... and some of which are already visible in your room pic.

Added on September 17, 2009, 10:08 amYeah, they always say center speaker at ear level is best but in practice it's impossible to do because the screen or TV would be occupying that space (unless you use AT screen and place the center speaker behind it at ear level). So, angling it up to the ear level is the best practical solution.

So you have chosen the AV15X driver, means you found someone who can build the cabinet and also install a matching amp? What amp did u choose?

Can you share what is the cost breakdown for going the custom route? This is something to consider...

Yup you can get the bracket at A&L. I bought mine from there at RM180/pair.

I don't think A&L does online sales. Since they have a branch near you I'm sure they can arrange to send the bracket there so you can do local pick up.
