My sis is using Ambassador 68, can she add a gadget SIM for my mum? Only RM 10 right? My mum is using a super old prepaid plan which has no data plan attached to it and she only needs it when she goes back to our hometown for 3 days, once every two weeks. The rest of the days, she's living in my sister's house that's with UniFi 50.

Our plan:
Since she's using dual SIM phone, first SIM slot - gadget SIM for data, second SIM for her existing no. to receive and make calls. I assume this gadget SIM can use WhatsApp calls and all right?

Or I'm currently a Zero Ambassador user with no active data plan, can I register gadget SIM for her? Let's assume I buy a weekly data plan and let her "share"? Does it work or I will need an active monthly data plan?

Appreciate your advice. smile.gif

By looking from your scenario, I think the gadget SIM is the best for your mum. It's RM10 (internet sharing) + RM10 (gadget SIM) on top of Ambassador 68 monthly bill. smile.gif By the way, may I ask how's your mum use internet? If only use for WhatsApp, I think you may just upgrade her to latest the prepaid plan, no need to have two SIMs.
I don't think gadget SIM can be used for WhatsApp as it can only be used solely for internet. But I could be wrong though. hmm.gif
Nah, too much work for you. biggrin.gif
*
Yes, she is using it for WhatsApp as she just started to learn how to use a smartphone and later on Facebook. The thing is if I upgrade her to the latest prepaid plan, she may lose her RM 38 super long life which is valid now until July 2018 as we just did it for her two months ago.

If Gadget SIM cannot be used for WhatsApp then I will need to find another alternative.

Maybe worse comes to worst, gotta register her a supplementary line under any of us or a new Ambassador 38 for her. Does anyone know if her existing credit can be transferred to postpaid as advanced payment?

If that so, just leave your mum's number as it is. Subscribe for gadget SIM and use existing phone number as WhatsApp number while gadget SIM purely for data on the go.
Nope. smile.gif

Yes, so long that data allows her to use WhatsApp, I'm OK, just sharing data for her main line. Anybody can confirm?

Err.. Isn't that a "yes"? What I meant was to cover for future payments, as stated in no. 8? unsure.gif
Sorry, if I confused you or myself with the term - Advanced payment. laugh.gif

For myself, i did assessed DIGI internet sharing option but it always costly.
To do internet sharing, the primary line need paid RM10/RM20 depend on which plan. Add gadget sim will need another RM10. The minimum cost is RM20 and this haven't included any data cost. Any digi plan include old prepaid plan, you can get short term 7 days data around RM5 to RM15 even internet day pass.
*
Yes, it is RM 10 for 1 week for my mum but 1.5GB will be too much.
For WhatsApp and FB (she hasn't started with FB yet), I guess 300MB for 7 days will be sufficient? laugh.gif RM 4 and she will use it for 3 days only. The only thing is I will need to help her to stop the recurring, else it will deduct RM 4 every 7 days. sweat.gif

Anyway, thanks for all the kind advice. I guess I will stick to her current prepaid add-on package, RM 4 for 300MB.

If just need a data plan for Whatsapp only, then you can upgrade your mom's SIM plan to Digi Best Prepaid 2016. Free unlimited Social.
*
That's my mum. laugh.gif But will lose SLL lo.

Then let's keep your mom's old SIM plan, more value for money to get longer credit validity at cheaper price.
*
Yes, I have decided on RM 4 for 7 days. laugh.gif
RM 8 per month, still affordable. tongue.gif

another noob question, Digi is LTE-A enabled? tested with prepaid sim, while Celcom can reach that, Digi is stuck with 4G.

I believe the coverage-checking website doesn't state LTE-A availability, only 4G and 3G coverage
*
It has LTE-A since 2015, it depends on your area coverage.
Why not? It has as far as I remember.

You are nutty to even suggest this option.
Paying RM240 for 600GB data.
No one will be crazy to do that

Infinite150 is available.
You have gone completely bonkers.
*
Maybe he is not aware there is something called Digi Infinite 150. laugh.gif

Existing will not be affected. I'm still using the same package of Ambassador that I had 10 years ago.

Wah...Mind to share what's the feature is for 10yo-amb?

Let's see if old plan always better then new plans from consumer perspective.
*
Basically it is a Zero Ambassador these days, free RM 50 calls/SMSes to Digi no.
Then few years later it allows 50% discount on data, so I had RM 34 for 3GB (instead of usual RM 68) and it was quite a steal considering still no data war that time. This year automatically upgraded my package to 6GB but paying RM 34. However, I still cancelled my data plan as I'm using a dual SIM phone which I'm using my Celcom corporate data that gives me 20GB per month.

Now most of the time I'm paying RM 0 every month unless I buy any Digi deal. tongue.gif

Not about your speed, I was correcting your MBps which is supposed to be Mbps. 1 Byte = 8 bits. laugh.gif
Yes, my speed is also more than 80Mbps most of the time and highest can reach 100Mbps in PJ.

i read somewhere, you need to be subscribed to any digi postpaid for 6 months to be able to sign up for i150

anyone can confirm?
*
No such thing for Infinite 150. They welcome new users from other telcos and allow MNP, that probably indirectly answers your question.

celcom also have 38 plan which im using but no more selling already lol

currently using digi business 168 and 150 infinite hmm...
*
I don't think there is a plan in the market which is RM 38 for 3GB and 1000 minutes calls to any telco or RM 68 for 15GB data and with unlimited calls.

The new RM60/month auto-renewable internet pass comes with
- unlimited calls
- 8GB all-day data
- 8GB weekend data
- 1GB data which you have to redeem manually everyday and it is valid only for one hour everyday (a total of 30GB a month)

And if you are on Hotlink Fast EC/EM plan, you will also get 1GB larut malam data which is usable between 1am - 7am everyday. This larut malam pass only works in Sabah, Sarawak and the East Coast.
*
I'm not sure about others but I'm not interested with weekdays and weekend data. sweat.gif
Nevertheless, not a bad deal at all.

what with digi zero amb?
*
No longer available for new subscriptions. Basically it has no commitment fees every month, if you don't spend anything on it. It is RM 0 per month.
Free calls/SMS-es to Digi no. for RM 50 and data can be purchased as add-on at RM 5/7 days for 3GB.

You can buy data pass when you are on the zero plan ? I have one number on zero which i plan to use , mainly on data but its on and off using that number. Can i still maintain the zero plan if i purchase any voice or data from the digi app ?
*
Yes, you can buy data pass. Voice pass I'm not sure because I never buy that. Regardless, if data can, why not voice, so long it's listed in MyDigi app.

Apparently cannot direct downgrade from ambassador 68 to ambassador 38. Went to alor star centre n the staff said need be on special plan for 1 month then can try go to amb38; if still have.

So now im on digi28 special kot; 100min all network 40sms digi 40sms others, 3gb main data 3gb utube. Got option rm0 5gb music freedom too.
*
You can convert to prepaid first and change to Ambassador 38 after that, it can be done one after one at the same time. It works and also depends if the staffs are willing to help you to do or not.
