Thanks for this pic. It is 99% same except my SATA2 shows (5,4,3,2) and SATA3 (1,0) is on top of each other and not side by side like in picture

Yes I was buta and quite newbie on this.

So the SATA2 (2,3,4,5) is Sata 2.0
And SATA3 (1,0) is Sata 3.0 which is faster?

Anyway I just bought Crucial MX500 1TB SSD, which I will be installing OS on it soon. So this should go to the SATA3 (white colour) one while all remaining for storage is connected to SATA2 (blue). Correct me if I am wrong
*
For maximum performance, technically all SSDs and HDDs should be connected to SATA III (6gbps)
since these ancient boards only got 2 SATA III, then just plug the most important drives onto SATA III

i want to buy ssd for ps5 before it comes out and price increase

any current ssd can support ps5?
*
PS5 itself will launch with 1TB SSD.
you buy for what? doh.gif

Either way, PS4 can support any 2.5" SATA HDD or SSD.
PS5 should be using NVMe M.2 instead of a build in storage option.
The question now is just the length of the M.2 drive, which we will have to wait until release to find out,

I just bought adata sx8200 pro and it doesnt come with screw. 😐
My hp notebook doesnt provide any screw.

I am screwed now.
*
can go buy at hardware store doh.gif
computer screw is the same as car screw, table screw, chair screw, screw your sister, screw driver, screw mcfak, scrouge mc duck.

Screws all ISO standard. You just need to know the diameter and length of the screw via using a ruler.
Either go buy one small pack from hardware store for RM2 or go ask random computer repair store to sell you one screw for RM10. whistling.gif

I'm looking at the Crucial BX500 1TB SSD for media storage purposes (can't stand the noise of HDD) which is close to RM500. Anything cheaper or of better value?
*
I dont know about you, but I miss those noise....

I still remember my P4 jet engine days sad.gif
When first upgraded to Core2, no noise, I thought PC died....
then got SSD, no HDD spin up sound, also thought PC died.....
now, RGB lighting is a must, otherwise will think PC died laugh.gif

crazy now how games taking up so much space... recently also giving out free games...end up have to buy extra storage space also...
*
QUOTE(skylinelover @ Jun 9 2020, 06:04 PM)
haha yeah

i would say since 2016 games already starting 2 exceeding 40gb space

i wont be surprise in 5 more years it will be exceeding 100gb and those are still stuck with suxmyx 1MB super GG liao mega_shok.gif  mega_shok.gif
*
back then, games have compressed textures etc so take longer to load, but keep same quality image, (see. Crysis series.

recently, more games are becoming more open world, thus cannot have illusion of loading rooms like Half Life series anymore. All need to load seemlessly, thus they are getting more and more uncompressed with higher texture files at the same time, thus raping your HDD.
partially due to HDD prices getting so cheap only peasant run anything smaller than 1TB these days

The old notebook computer came with a licensed Windows 8.1 and it was upgraded to Windows 10. Since I son't have the Windows key and I thought it could be easier to clone the Windows from old HDD to new SSD, then replace the old HDD with the new SSD.
*
License key is on your motherboard.

To see actual key, use software like showkey plus to extract.
Else, just install fresh copy of windows on SSD and Windows should automatically detect the license key and activate it as it is.

not really stutter, i don't know why people describe dramless SSD will stutter, there were slower storage device that does not stutter, just being slow.

I can play my game over network storage, the game does not really stutter, just super long loading time, that's all
*
hard drive is consistently slow....
Dramless SSD is like driving ferrari in traffic jam, rather than driving down empty highway.

Sprint, then lag, sprint, then lag.
even if actual speed is faster than hDD.
the feeling of inconsistency is more shit than actual lag tongue.gif

Hi, I am having Asus H110m-K motherboard. I am looking to upgrade my SSD. I am a casual gamer with mostly play dota 2 and some graphics game like horizon or wasteland 3.
But i have few options

1. SATA SSD or Nvme?
2. If my motherboard not allow for nvme, what can i do so it can support nvme in mean time? before i upgrade to better motherboard.
3. And last which brand or which nand ssd i should buy?

my budget around Rm 300. and i looking 512gb ssd

tq
*
1. your mobo only SATA
2. PCIE x16 to m.2 adapter
3. look for lowest price first that fits your budget, then google reviews on anandtech, then decision from there
make sure the SSD has a common brand name...dont buy vague brands that you have never heard of

May I request for your recommendation for the software use for cloning the existing notebook computer harddisk to a new SSD?
